Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Which is a real problem when the attraction runs red-hot.
Ice-cream store owner Raelynn Fortune has everything but her last name—fortune.
Despite living in a Floridian hotspot for tourists, she just can’t get her business back off the ground. And she knows why.
Her rival store next door is run by nobody other than her ex, and with his fancy-schmancy concoctions, he’s taking all the clients two generations of her family cultivated. Never mind that Raelynn taught him all he knows, and his revenge for her breaking up with him was putting her plans into reality—and her almost out of business.
But, she has a plan. The height of the season is just two weeks away, and she’s tired of playing second fiddle to her ex. She’s going to take back her crown as the queen of ice cream, even if it means getting close to Chase once again.
After all, all is fair in love and war, and you know what they say about keeping your enemies close…
Although maybe Chase is a little too close…
Best served cold is a sweet second chance romance with lots of sarcastic sprinkles.
"Hate was a strong word, and not one I used lightly. It was reserved almost entirely for my ex-boyfriend and Brussels sprouts.
The woman I was in love with hated me with every bit of her soul. And I didn't blame her at all. If I were her I'd hate me too"
Rae is stubborn, in fact she's the definition of stubborn and sarcastic she has sarcasm down to a T. Rae and Chase arguing is like watching a tennis match and most times it was match point to Rea, she was that quick with her comebacks.
Two ice cream shops next door to each other and two exes leads to a recipe of cold servings.
I liked Best served cold. Chase I loved him, he was so sweet, not the brightest spark for opening an ice-cream parlour next to his ex just to be close to her but a sweet guy all the same.
Raelynn, I liked her too, it just took a heck of a lot of smooth talking to finally get her to melt.
For two years Chase didn't give up, he bides his time to win her back and finally Chase see's his in and makes for the play, he finally goes for it but can he melt the ice queen?
I could't justify Rae's reasons for the split two years ago, chase and Rae are made for each other but so glad it finally worked out in the end.
Best served cold is a lovable romance and will certainly whip up some laughs along with way.
Told in first person, leads to hea. No cheating and no major angst or drama, so sit back read and enjoy.

A life free from sin.
For seventeen years, I have lived and breathed those words. But there is no balm to the war inside my soul.
The mysterious beauty too lethal to taste. She’s a thief, a con, the essence of everything I loathe. Still, she lures me in with her lying eyes.
In the dark of night, she came to confess her sins, and in the light of morning, I plotted to steal her away.
She will be my ruination. My damnation. My biggest regret.
So help me, God.
A word of advice? Don’t show me your vulnerabilities because I will find a way to exploit them. I learned the hard way to take what I want from life with no regrets.
He’s one of the most hated men in America. A soulless criminal attorney. A recluse. And as of five minutes ago, my new husband.
He wants to keep my secrets and collect my tears, but he should know that a wild animal can’t be domesticated.
I don’t know how to love men. I only know how to leave them.
With everything I want.

Wow!! I was absolutely captivated from start to the words "The End"
Having read most of A. Zavarelli's books I'm a huge fan of her writing and previous books but Confess was another level altogether, I felt entranced and could not put this book down.
Confess begins with the introduction of Gypsy who is a con artist in Vegas, she's a beautiful woman who uses what she's got to get what she wants, Gypsy is a highly intelligent woman and a seductress who has just finished a big job that has earned herself and her sister who she cares for a pretty packet but when she is approached by Lucian, a lawyer who knows everything about her, including her dark past, has watched her and plans to expose all her dark secrets her only lifeline is the ultimatum he gives her.
Gypsy's life as she knows it is turned upside down. Gypsy is a woman who is a survivor and like all her jobs does what she has to do to protect herself and her sister.
They say you can't con a con man but Lucian definitely has the upper hand, what Gypsy didn't know was it was the lifeline she would never expect.
So mysterious and full of jaw-dropping surprises, I found myself saying "Wow" more than once throughout Confess.
Gypsy has no choice but to agree to the terms to protect herself and her sister and so many twists and turns happen from this point in the story. Seriously good stuff.
He leaned his forehead against mine, dark lashes softly caressing his cheeks. “Don’t fall in love with me, Gypsy.”
“Then don’t make me,” I whispered.
“I can’t love you back.”
“Because of her?”
He didn’t give me further explanation, but it didn’t matter. It felt true. And I think we both needed it to be true.
It was the only way to protect ourselves.
Lucian is a puzzle. One minute he's the bad guy, cruel even, then the next his softness is showing through the cracks.
"I lived under a life of perpetual rain until she came along, and now my life was filled with colour"
"He was an enigma. A man who essentially blackmailed me into marriage and threatened to send me to prison at every opportunity, but one who apparently concerned himself with my soul. It didn't make sense"
Confess is a highly addictive story where once you let the character's in, you just can't get enough. Lies, shocking truths, heartwarming and heartbreaking moments, danger and hot erotic moments too, Confess had everything I love that makes this an unputdownable read.
A Zavarelli blew me away with Lucian and Gypsy's story. I'm hoping for more, I'm hoping for Birdie's story next, Gypsy's sister, who had her own dark past too and carried her own secrets.

AS SWEET AS A CUPCAKE WITH A GOOEY CENTER WITH A BIT OF HOTNESS IN THE DELICIOUS MIX.
A second chance, swoon-worthy romance.
This isn't my first book by Harloe Rae, I read one of her first books and I can definitely see a vast improvement on her writing, so this is an author that is just getting better and better. I was hooked from the beginning, second chance romance's are my guilty pleasure and MISS ticked all the right boxes for this kind of romance.
Zeke aka Zee and Delia aka Trip, are teenage sweetheart's but after living with an abusive father for years Zee can't stand it anymore, he moves away with a promise to set up a better life for their future and one day come back for Trip.
Years pass and Zee still hasn't returned for Deliah who has been away to college and iS now the owner of a bakery with her best friend Raven who'S story is in the previous book GENT.
Deliah has moved on in life except in her love life, anger has replaced hope and Deliah tries every day to put Zee from her mind until a construction crew move into town and she feels his presence before she see's him.
Zeke is wounded inside and out. His past refuses to let him go, keeping him chained to the horrible memories. He hasn't been able to move on with a better life.
Zee moves from town to town with a construction crew and is angry on the inside for never getting the chance to fulfill his promise to Trip and it wasn't for lack of trying, Zee really did have a bad series of events from the moment he moved away leaving Trip behind.
"He's a master craftsman with those talented hands, and I'm the current project"
MISS is a story of second chances, regrets and forgiveness. A sweet romance with no major angst or drama. Zee has a lot of explaining and catching up to do and his mission is to win back his girl.

What a fab MC read. I loved it!!
Wicked Revenge ticked all my MC Romance craving boxes and more.
Wow, where do I start?
Firstly, the main characters in this book are Lily aka “Kiwi” and her best friends brother Loki.
When Lily and her brother Kellan aka “Tryke” lost their parents, Tryke keeps Lily away from the clubhouse and Lily feels she lost more than her parents when they died, Tryke shelters Lili who only goes to school and doesn't see anyone anymore from the MC except her brothers best friend Loki. Tryke says it's his way of protecting her but from what? she doesn't know?.
Lily isn't aware that Tryke had also faked Lily's death at the time her parents died to keep her safe, so later in the story when Her brother is also in danger with the same enemies in his own club who he also thinks also killed his parent's Lily/Kiwi has no choice but to go away at her brother's command.
Lily/ kiwi, has been in love with Loki forever, they have grown up together and she has always had in her heart that one day she would be his old lady despite her brother wanting her away from club life.
Kiwi is staying with another chapter in an MC after moving away and when Loki visits on her 18th Birthday she finally gets her wish and loses her virginity to him but the morning after he is gone.
"My virginity is gone, and with it so is Loki. It's only now when I realize that I lost my virginity to a badass biker douche who couldn't even face me in the morning. Or wear a condom".
There's then a six-year gap in the plot where Kiwi goes back to her home town in disguise with a plan of revenge for her brother and her parents, kiwi is no longer a girl but a sexy and sassy vixen who rides a Harley and is trained to kill.
ONE THING, Just one thing annoyed me in this story and that was Loki's attraction to Kiwi who was now disguised as a woman called Skit. Skit is a new starter in the club's strip club/bar who begins to work in the club as a waitress. Loki had claimed to always loved Kiwi yet he was all over Skit even had thoughts of her being his old lady and started having all these heart hammering feelings for her among other things. I know, Yes, it was really Kiwi in disguise but it annoyed me, he didn't know that!! and when you're invested in the love of two characters you can't help but look at that sort of thing as cheating. Hands up though he's a biker and there's no way he was living like a virgin for 6 years but he did it for a release what bothered me was the way he described Skit and was loving towards her, it really made me annoyed when he had already had feelings and love for Kiwi since he was young. Anyway, that took me a bit to shake off, I was annoyed with him and felt sorry for kiwi who was definitely at that point out of sight out of mind but it all came good in the end Loki did redeem himself and got in my good books again so I could continue enjoying the story.
Did I say one thing? well, maybe two things then, because this just popped into my mind too.
Kiwi is a woman with a backbone, but I don't think she let Loki suffer enough, he shagged her basically then left her for 6 years and it's not even him doing the chasing after 6 years it's Kiwi when she goes back. And what's the first thing she does? the first thing she did was jump into his bed, her first night at the club even though he thought she was someone else and not his Kiwi, let me tell you that also annoyed me, make him suffer a bit girl for goodness sake.
Obviously, I was really into the plot and the characters, can you tell, lol.
There is so much in this book and the above, believe me, that is only the tip of the iceberg. Its gritty and raw, full of action, revenge, disloyalty, enemies, plots of murders basically it has the whole shebang and I was eagerly turning the pages in this 341 paged book of MC goodness and Alpha hotness.
Speaking of hotness, grab a fan because it's was all that too!!
I loved it and will definitely read more from this author.

A cold-hearted predator with the killer instinct.
A deadly threat to anyone who becomes my prey.
I'm pulled off of an existing job to watch a new target and her grandmother until I'm issued the order. I see her for the first time from the edge of the woods. Rose Adams. Silky red hair flowing down past her waist, soft curves, a sassy mouth, and that body that's made for sin.

Wolf is a good action packed romance that I read in one sitting and purchased through Kindle Unlimited.
A strong heroin and an Alpha male.
They call me the Hunter;
A cold-hearted predator with the killer instinct.
A deadly threat to anyone who becomes my prey.
Thorn or Hunter is a killer, he takes orders from his employer to kill or track down and his latest target is Rose who he has orders to watch her every move and report back.
Rose is sharp and has spent too many years since her parents were killed keeping low and always on the look out for anything suspicious, she is trained in martial arts and Rose is definitely a woman with backbone.
Wolf is a good action story, you get the meat of the plot but it doesn't go down to the bones for you to get into depth leaving some questions unanswered for example who trained Rose? did she anticipate that someone would one day could come after her even though she was just a girl when she witnessed her parents murdered.
If your not a person who isn't too interested in how the puzzle all fits together and are happy with the surface kind of read that gives you all the juicy bits then this is enjoyable.

"Fight the fight no matter how dirty it gets"
I enjoyed filthy fight, it was fast paced and before I knew it I had finished in one sitting.
Filthy Fight is about Mateo, a boxer who threw his career as a boxer away by fixing a fight to gain more money for his dad's cancer treatment.
4 years later and Mateo's name is still a disgrace In the boxing world. Mateo no longer fights but now works in a job he hates and cares for his father.
Following the night that changed his career Mateo had to move away to a remote home, away from the hate and anger thrown at him for his actions that only he and his father knew the reasons.
Mateo's story is one of redemption and second chances. Bad decisions were made for a good cause. Mateo is now a man with regrets who was once desperate and that desperation lead him to shaking hands with the devil and ending up in hell.
Julep owns a gym/training facility for fighters. The Shamrocks gym has a good name in the industry for producing good fighters but when talent is lacking and there's fear of a lack of sponsorship too Julep does her research then goes looking for her only hope of saving the gym, the ex Cuban boxer previously nicknamed The Matador.
Filthy Fight is a good read, there's instant connection with the characters and Mateo's backstory has you cheering in his corner for everything to work out.
Julep believes In him, she believes in his second chance and despite opposition from her brother also fights for her heart to win too.
This isn't an intense journey kind of read, no deap inner turmoils of the character's or an in-depth plot, Filthy Fight gives you enough to sink your teeth into but doesn't go down to the bones making this an easy fast paced kind of read.
The sex scenes however are in depth and long, so be ready to fan yourself. Mateo goes from a warm kind of guy, a gentle giant to a smokin hottie and dominant in the bedroom.
A good fighter romance. Told in first person. A Standalone.
Available in KU. Leads to a hea.

My only hope is that Aiden will cross an ocean for me.
The Ocean Between Us
The Girl In The Closet
All The Wasted Time
The Lies We Tell Ourselves
We Were Lost
The Fire Between Us
I read the original book a few years ago now and although some things seemed similar it was like reading a new book.
The Ocean between us is about a young woman who has suffered abuse for years at the hands of her mother, she has a father who not only is part of law enforcement in town but turns a blind eye to the abuse under his own roof.
With no-one in authority to turn to and having lost all Faith in the police year's ago with her father as an example, Emma flees the country and goes to America to start a new life.
Firstly, in The ocean between us you don't ease into Emma's story, you are thrust right into the thick of it, with the scenes of the verbal and physical abuse by her mother which instantly grabs your attention and immediately softens your heart for Emma, so with Emma's new start and freedom you can't help but champion her on.
Not a bad way to start a book but I think with this type of story I would have preferred a beginning were Emma is desperate to escape, you get a glimpse but not the full thing and the secret of why Emma had to run is drip-fed as the story progresses, this keeps the reader guessing and adds suspense. Also, where was her brother in all this?
Some things I questioned, some things I found hard to imagine and this makes my mind start to wander as I am trying to follow the journey. This sheltered girl who has suffered abuse arrives in a new country, immediately goes to a bar determined to try new things and meets Aiden while in the bar. I understand Emma wants to experience all the things her mother held her back from but begging him for sex? the need to want to lose her virginity with a stranger at first meet? Just some things I couldn't comprehend and I was trying to understand her motives without judging at this point.
That's about it for any negatives or questions I had, a good spin on the story is Emma discovers her potential one night stand is none other than her new roommate who she hasn't met yet at this point. Aiden is a southern man, he's caring and a gentleman and takes care of Emma in her drunken state after tasting alcohol for the first time. Another thing I questioned when she is fleeing an alcoholic mother? Why would she want her first experience of freedom to be alcohol and sex.
All the above is only a few chapters in and like most books I have read by Michelle there's added twists and turns and a touch of dark so the story is so much more than an abused girl seeking freedom.
Aiden is the swoon-worthy hero who from the moment he meets Emma is drawn to her and feels the need to love and protect her.
"The way she looks at me is intoxicating. It makes me feel damn near invincible"
In summary, a good read that I read in one sitting. The plot had some things I would have changed, as book boyfriend's go Aiden was "all that", the sex scenes? as always by Michelle Heard they were sensitive, passionate and well written.
I did enjoy The Ocean between us, it's definitely a page-turner, maybe because it's the second time around I was looking for great but gave it 4 stars.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to heartwarming hea.

USA Today bestselling author of the King Series, T.M. Frazier, brings you an all-new trilogy with a sexy anti-hero you're going to love to hate, and a ballsy heroine with more up her sleeve than just tricks.
Love is supposed to be a fairy tale.
Ours is a death wish.
I'm the executioner for the Bedlam Brotherhood.
She's a con artist working for my greatest enemy.
I use her.
She manipulates me.
We find ourselves on opposite sides of a bloody war.
My heart and head tell me I have to stay away.
My lust for her doesn't give a sh*t.
Nothings fair in love and gang war
Now that is definitely an ending that has you craving for more!!.
Perversion is a lot of things, a teen love story, a second chance love story, a story that you can foresee turning into a roller-coaster journey, Perversion is not a standalone and is part if a trilogy and what an epic start with the first book. So addictive.
In true T.M Frazier style Perversion is dark, gritty, filled with angst/suspense and the rose blooming between these thorns of gang wars and bedlam is the love story of Grim and EJ /Emma Jean
I definitely need more Grim, book two can't come quick enough. I also see another Preppy type character emerging with Sandy who brought humor to the plot.
Looking forward to more, this book has me excited!!.

Truth: Penn Walker entered my life like a summer storm—dark, ominous, and filled with thunder.
After witnessing my husband’s murder, I didn’t have much of a heart left to offer a man.
But Penn took it all.
Every jagged shard.
Every broken bit.
Even the dirty and twisted pieces that I wish never existed.
Lie: I didn’t need him to save me.
Lie: I knew exactly who he was.
Lie: Losing him wouldn’t destroy me.
But that’s the thing about lies—you never know who to believe.
The duet is complete!
The conclusion is another gripping and intense journey that contains an epilogue that warms your heart.
I finished book one with a slack jaw, this really is a story with twists and turns and I could't wait to read book 2.
There are more revelations, even more twists and turns. What started off as a story with elements of revenge became a story of healing and new beginnings. It lacked the sizzle I love in a romance read but the plot more than made up for it.
More revelations, more pieces of the puzzle coming together and More games of Truth or Lie with Penn and Cora.
A good read that will keep you flipping the pages eagerly. Aly Martinez is one of those authors that writes flawlessly and I can honestly say I finish every single book she writes with a contented sigh, she brings everything I want as a reader, action, drama, a touch of hotness, suspense and great characters. I liked it. The Good Samaritan is a good story with many hidden messages.
Jude is a homeless guy who does acts of kindness secretly, he's a man seeking redemption for a mistake that wasn't his, but none the less blames himself and totally shuts himself off, becomes homeless by choice and moves to another town.
Jude's anonymous actions of bravery and generosity start to capture the attention of the local press when people start to contact them with their story's telling all of their mystery savior.
From the beginning for some odd reason I couldn't get the film Unbreakable out of my head with Bruce Willis, Jude doesn't have superpowers but I couldn't shake it off so in my head Jude became Bruce Willis lol.
Faith is a reporter for the local paper who has been told to find out who the mystery good Samaritan is.
Faith and Jude develop a relationship from the moment they meet again following a night when Jude comes to her rescue and even then Faith doesn't realize the story she has been chasing is right under her nose.
No spoilers there, you know from the beginning Jude is the guy living in torment and feels it's his duty to help others to pay for what he thinks are his sins by doing good, you just don't know what he blames himself for until later in the story.
Told at a steady pace, a little bit of hotness in Jude and Faith's relationship thrown in to keep you interested if you like passion in your romance reads, the plot mainly focuses on the acts of Jude though and the underlying message. There are no major dramas or angst.
I would say it's an interesting read, it was heartwarming and an ideal lazy reading day kind of book.

From USA Today Bestselling author Chelle Bliss, Uncover Me is the fourth book in her alpha male erotic romance series, Men of Inked.
Genre: Romantic Erotica & Romantic Suspense
Interconnected Stand-Alone Novel
Wow, fan me down!!.
Firstly If you love Alpha protective men then this is a series for you.
I have read previous books and this is Thomas's story. In each book you get a glimpse of each character, the Gallo's are a close-knit family and I absolutely love every single one of them. Three yummy brothers one sassy sister and a mother and father that give you parent envy. With each book, the family grows as another of the Gallo men settle down and Izzy finally meets her match too with James.
Thomas aka Blue is undercover working in an MC and finally, after years working away and missing his family, they finally have enough evidence to bring down the MC the only problem is Thomas has fallen for Roxy one of the women in the MC who was brought up in that environment by her biker whore mother.
A great story with a lot of action and hotness. Chelle Bliss really knows how to write the sizzling scenes and I love her dirty talking Alpha men.
I listened to this in audio and loved the dual narration.
Great series and you can grab the first books free in a box set.

** I suggest reading blind if you want all the feels! **
The people we love are thieves.
They steal our hearts. They steal our breath.
They steal our sanity.
And we let them.
Over and over and over again.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
They say you never forget your first time.
Mine was with a homeless musician who effed my brains out under a bridge.
He was my first love. And fourteen years later, I still can’t get him out of my head.
He broke all my rules.
He also broke my heart.
I watched him climb to stardom, cheering him on from afar.
But I was never a fan; just a girl in love.
Like a tornado, he spiraled, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.
But love conquers all, right? It has to. Because here I stand, ravaged and ruined, needing it to be true.
You can’t go back, but I want to. Back to the bridge. Back to when he sang only for me. Before he was famous. Before he shattered my heart.
I thought I knew everything about him.
But I could not have been more wrong.
He promised me every tomorrow. And here I am, waiting.
,Carian Cole your a bloody gem for bringing this book onto my reading shelf, it's a book I wont forget for a long time and deserves more than five stars.
I knew pretty early on in this book that No Tomorrow would break me at some point, I can't even describe this author's brilliant ability to draw you into a book, its sublime.
A heart-wrenching and beautiful story of imperfect love. The afflictions, the joys, the anguish, the torments, I went through it all with these characters.
What a plethora of emotions I went through. No tomorrow is a journey and from the moment Piper meets the talented homeless street musician I too was enchanted.
"I've walked willingly into the depths of the unknown, which comes under the guise of inked arms and a beautiful voice"
Piper is just an ordinary girl working an ordinary job, she ate lunch every day in the park alone, an ordinary girl who one day would have an extraordinary love story.
"Life and love can be cruel and beautiful and utterly confusing"
Piper fell for a drifter, a man named blue with a gift, a tormented soul who gave her poetic words and beautiful songs. I can't even sum up this journey, it's poetic, beautiful, passionate, a story that takes you through the years with piper and Blue, when I think of some of the words in this book it just blows my mind.
"UNFORTUNATELY THERE'S NO REHAB PROGRAM FOR LOVE"
Love. Its dark and ugly, raw and passionate. It brings pain and it brings happiness and everything in between, that sentence perfectly sums up this love story, Blue and Piper experienced it all.
Blue, what an amazing character, he mesmerized me with his sexy, he intrigued me with his ways, I have no words, just speechless.
There were times I wanted to shake Piper like her friends did but, this woman knew what made her heart whole and it was Eli also known s Blue. Piper stuck through it all on the verge of drowning but I can honestly say when they finally reached the shore together at the end I felt nothing but happy, exhausted by the journey but happy.

Guilty until proven innocent.
That’s the way the world works, right?
I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.
The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.
If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.
The sins of the past always come back to haunt us.
Guilty as sin is book two in a trilogy.
Some questions were answered as the plot goes from present to past, so there are more revelations, twists and turns and more understanding on the history of these two family's that hate each other, Whitney and Lincoln are still very much in the thick of it wanting to openly love each other but as history dictates...
A Gable and a Riscoff could never be together...
BUT finally Lincoln is beginning to take a stand against his mother, he lost Whitney 10 years ago and isn't prepared to let it happen again.
If you love a good mystery and family saga-drama's then this is a trilogy for you.
There wasn't much romance if that's what you like in a book or hot scenes, but when the hot happens it's sizzling, it's a complex relationship and interesting and had enough to keep me turning the pages.
Guilty as sin is very much "the middle book" I'm none the wiser on who is causing trouble for the Riscoff family and who is actually the family's real heir to the Riscoff fortunes, or who is stirring trouble but I was captivated by the plot, eagerly seeking for clues and answers, I have my suspicions but I will just have to wait and see.
Looking forward to the final, without a doubt there will be fireworks and hopefully revelations along with hea.
Told in first person.
RICHER THAN SIN
From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.
A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends.
Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes.
I didn’t know or care what her name was.
Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man.
She hates me, and she should.
I objected on her wedding day.
Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger.
They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable.
I’ll never be done with her.

Heir to a media empire.
...And my new boss.
I could have impressed him, if not for last month's unforgettable one-night stand.
I left it with more than orgasms and a pleasant memory--namely, his wallet.
Now he's staring me down like I'm the dirt under his Italian loafers, and I'm supposed to take it.
But the thing about being Judith "Jude" Humphry is I have nothing to lose.
Heir to a stack of medical bills and a tattered couch.
When he looks at me from across the room, I see the glint in his eyes, and that makes us rivals.
He knows it.
So do I.
Every day in the newsroom is a battle.
Every night in his bed, war.
But it's my heart at stake, and I fear I'll be raising the white flag.
I love L.J Shen's books so without a doubt, I jumped into Dirty headlines.
I'm not a fan of office romance but hoped L.J Shen would change that, sadly it didn't.
The setting of a newsroom and office affairs, a struggle over power and an ongoing battle with Celian and his father over who was top dog isn't something I haven't read before.
Jude or Judith, I immediately liked, she had backbone and sass, spoke her mind and wasn't at all intimidated when she discovered her one night stand was now her new boss.
Celian was an Ass, he was arrogant and not in the bad boy kind of way were they say and do stuff that leaves your jaw slack but you just love them anyway for their arrogance mixed with charm but Celian was just arrogant and rude full stop and I think I spent 92 percent of this book turning the pages eagerly to get to the end hoping he would redeem himself. I just didn't like him.
I enjoyed Dirty Headlines but it didn't blow me away and was a forgettable read, It lacked angst, drama and some shock factor to make it more memorable for me.
Told in first person, leads to hea.

He had an American accent. Not French. American. Smooth. Familiar. Ordinary. He fired out sentences at the speed of light. I heard him, but I couldn’t listen. Shock gripped my body as the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. My dirty one-night stand was my boss. My lying, American boss. And now I had to deal with that—hopefully for a very long time, because I desperately needed this job.
Someone snapped their fingers, and my gaze shot from Célian’s face to Grayson.
His forehead had crumpled into a frown. “You look like you’re trying hard not to cry or having a really intense orgasm. I’m hoping for you that it’s the latter and some kind of a weird-slash-awesome condition. You okay?”
I nodded, scraping up a smile. “Sorry. Zero orgasms happening under this dress. I just zoned out for a second.”Lies. I was about to orgasm just remembering how good Célianhad felt parting my thighs with his big, callused hands and dipping his tongue into my slit.
Then words stopped streaming down on everyone’s heads like a scalding shower, and I realized that indeed there was something worse than hearing Célianspeak in his perfect American English. And that was not hearing him speak at all. Because now the icicles were pointed at me like a cocked gun.
I glanced up to meet his gaze. He stared at me for exactly one second before his focus snapped to Grayson. “Am I understood, Gregory?” he asked.
“Crystal clear, sir,” Grayson bowed, his voice trembling at the edges.
Célian jerked his chin toward me. “Your cover girl material is going downhill.”
God. Damn. Bastard.
He recognized me, and I knew it. His eyes had kindled, melting the ice and growing darker the minute our gazes mingled. He remembered, and maybe it killed him that I was here in the same way it buried me.
I want my iPod back, my gaze told him. I had over three thousand songs on that thing, and they were all too good to be wasted on that jerk.
“Jude Humphry. Junior reporter. It’s her first day,” Grayson highlighted, almost pleadingly. He shifted in my direction, as if he might need to physically protect me from the sharp-tongued, suited monster.
I suppressed a smile when I realized I’d told Célianmy last name was Spears. Well, he certainly wasn’t a Timberlake. He was a Laurent. An American monarch through and through. A billionaire, a powerful force, and judging by our one and only encounter—a raging playboy.
This man was inside you, I internally shrieked. And not just once. His cock was buried so deep in you, you screamed. You can still taste the salty, earthy flavor of his cum.You know he has a freckle on his lower back. You know what sound he makes when he empties inside a woman.
I internally thanked my mind for ruining my panties in public, and nodded. “Pleasure to meet you, sir.” I offered him my hand, my face flushing with embarrassment at my choice of words.
Everyone was looking at us, and there were at least fifty people in the room. Célian—if that was even his name—ignored my outreached hand. Instead, he turned his face to the man beside him. “Mathias, any other words of wisdom?”
Mathias? Wasn’t that his father? Just how cold was the man with the icy blue eyes?
“I think you touched everything,” said the big boss—and he did have a heavy French accent, so at least the lie had a seed. Mathias stared at me placidly, like he could read the secret his son and I shared on my face.
Célian spun toward me, uncuffing his cufflinks and rolling his sleeves up his veiny forearms. “Accounting can go back to their unfortunate line of work. Couture is excused from this meeting—though not forgiven for their horrid blog. Miss Humphry?” He snapped his fingers impatiently.
He was already waltzing down the narrow hallway, knowing I’d chase him like a puppy, and no doubt taking pleasure in that fact.
“I have a bone to pick with you.”
Bone, boner—same difference, right?
I shot Grayson a please-save-my-butt look. His eyes said, I would but I still have a life to live.
I followed Célian down the hall, my Chucks slapping the floor in a hurry. He sliced through the throng of accountants, then stopped at a corner office, opened the door, barked “Out!” to the man inside, and tilted his head for me to go in. I did. He closed the door, and it was just the two of us.
Two feet of empty space between us.

The past is called the past for a reason. Two years, four months, and three days ago, I walked away from my life to save myself. I’ve moved on, but never forward. I don’t want to look back; all I want is my sister and to get the h*ll out of Archer’s Creek – but he won’t let me. Always there, he refuses to let my secrets stay hidden. He’s not my type: old, opinionated, and dangerous – I hate him. Except when he touches me; then I don’t hate him at all.
The person you are is a product of the things you do. The last ten years I’ve found ways to deal with the shadows that haunt me. My life is good: ride-club-***k repeat. I don’t want or need anything else. But now there’s her and I can’t stay away. She’s angry, lonely, and hiding a past that might be as dark as my own. She hates me, and I love it.
An enemies to lovers romance. A bossy biker and a stubbornly independent woman.
I loved Nikki and Blade. The push and the pull throughout was enough angst on its own.
Nikki is the sister of Angel who is with Daisy, if you have read precious books you will know who I am on about and will already have an understanding of Angel's upbringing and background with her abusive father and all that happened in their story.
Nikki is Angels older and only sister who disappeared 2 years ago.
2 years Nikki has waited, planned and prepared to get her sister back and when Angel turns 18 Nikki has dreamed and planned to rescue her, take her away from their father only when the day comes she discovers Angel already has a white knight and a new family in the Sinners MC.
Nikki marching into the clubhouse demanding her sister doesn't go down well and the first person to feel Nikki's fury is Blade.
Only a biker would get hard over an angry woman and Nikki did that to Blade more than once.
"My Duchess is at her sexiest when she's spitting feathers and stamping her feet"
A great story I was completely engaged, loved the characters, I loved the way Blade called her Duchess (swoon) and no matter how much she pushed him away afraid to let anyone in he was persistent. It was great seeing previous characters too. Nikki is feisty but underneath vulnerable and Blade has his own nightmares but the bossy independent woman that tore into the clubhouse somehow calms him
"God I hate you" I hiss at him
"Well, that's okay, cause I love you enough for both of us,"
With all the angst in Blade and Nikki's relationship, the constant barriers being put up by Nikki until the eleventh hour when Nikki finally let the pushy biker in, I would have liked more hea, I didn't get my fill and it felt more like a happy for now, that would be my only grumble about this book.
A good addition to the series though and I can't wait for the next one.
"You are the calm in a turbulent sea. You are heaven when I deserved hell. You are everything"
Told in first person. Can be read as a standalone. No cheating. Has a good balance of hotness.

He’s pole position. She’s a pole dancer. The two of them are poles apart.
Carson Matthews, the hottest driver ever to hit the MotoGP circuit, is living the carefree, celebrity lifestyle. With little to worry about other than keeping himself top of the leader board, his favourite weekend pastime is visiting a certain blonde at Angels Gentlemen’s Club.
Emma Bancroft, a part-time lap dancer, is just trying to make ends meet. Her responsibilities weigh heavily on her as the does the secret she’s kept from everyone for the past two-and-a-half years.
With the world’s press watching his every move, their relationship and Emma’s explosive secret can’t stay hidden for much longer…
From international bestselling author Kirsty Moseley comes a tale that proves opposites really do attract
A LAP DANCER AND A FAMOUS RACING CAR DRIVER.
Oh, boy, did I love the angst in this...
I got frustrated with the characters and anxious when things weren't going the way I wanted them to, I was on edge and couldn't turn the pages fast enough, so you could say I bloody loved it, I'm an angst whore lol
A bit about the plot:
Emma lives with her brother and daughter. Emma was pregnant at 16, a result of a one night stand and was kicked out by her parents, her brother who is also a teen, left with Emma to support her.
To make a living Emma works in a lap dancing bar, serving tables and does lap-dances.
For three years Emma has grown to know Carson Matthews, the famous racing car driver who comes into the club whenever he is in town and always asks for Emma and they go into the back room. Emma normally only does lap dances but for Carson, she makes an exception. Emma has grown to love Carson but what would a race-car driver want with a lap-dancer? what shame would that bring to his career?, Emma doesn't have any self worth sometimes and just accepts that, it is what it is...
A three-year relationship within the confines of a lap dancing club. Carson is sweet and caring, treats Emma like she is his one an only whenever he visits until he leaves the club and Emma only gets glimpses of him on the t.v or in the paper where he is photographed with models and beautiful girls on his arm.
A great story with secrets that the characters hold back along with twists and turns along the way.
A Cinderella type story that I couldn't get enough of, I adored both characters, I wished Emma had a little more backbone at some points but if she had that would have let the cat out of the bag too soon and it all added to the tension for me as a reader.
I love Kirsty Moseley's books, I always enjoy the ones I read and I definitely need to read more.
AVAILABLE FOR 0.99. Told in first person. leads to HEA. Does not have cheating.
The New York Times Bestselling author of the On Dublin Streetseries and PLAY ON returns to the world of the arts in this intense and emotional standalone romance about love, sacrifice, and surviving both.
Once upon a time Skylar Finch was the lead singer of a hugely successful American pop-rock band. But fame made her miserable. When years of living a lie suddenly ended in tragedy, Skylar fell off the map.
Eighteen months later she’s sleeping in a tent in a cemetery in Glasgow, making just enough money to eat by busking on the streets. She manages to avoid recognition, but not the attention of one of Glasgow’s ambitious A&R executives.
Killian O’Dea works at Skyscraper Records, Scotland’s most successful record label. Raised by his uncle and owner of the label, Killian’s upbringing would have been devoid of affection entirely if it wasn’t for his loving sister. Killian is unflinchingly determined to bring the label more success than ever, and the young homeless woman who busks on Buchanan Street is going to help him do that. Her music speaks to him in a way he refuses to over-analyze. All he knows is that if it can touch his dark soul, it’ll set everyone else’s alight.
Skylar makes it clear that she doesn’t want to sign with him. But when she experiences the dangerous reality of a woman sleeping rough, Skylar has no one else but Killian to turn to. An undeniable connection forms between them. But Skylar doesn’t want the career Killian is trying to forge for her, and when her past comes back to haunt her Killian will be faced with a decision that could ruin him. He must either free Skylar from his selfish machinations and destroy everything he’s ever worked for, or lose a woman who has come to mean more to him than he ever thought possible
A journey of emotions, brilliantly written by Samantha Young.
I love books that captivate and take you on all the ups and downs of the characters and As Dust dances is exactly that kind of book.
A story of a young girl who hit stardom and fame with a rock band and her downhill spiral on a road that leads her to homelessness.
The life of a rockstar and the challenges, and all its baggage, your every move watched, your decisions and choices judged and exaggerated, even your love life fabricated by fans and press, the life in the public eye gave everyone the right to an opinion and there was nothing Skylar could do about it other than feel trapped.
After a series of events Skylar ran and so no-one would find her, track her finances she became homeless, with no trace of her left Skylar in the eyes of the press and fans had vanished.
Even though Skylar had millions in the bank and unable to access it without alerting people of her whereabouts she became a busker to pay for her meals.
A girls journey of self-discovery with past regrets, reflections on life choices and an opportunity to start again when 2 years later a life-saving opportunity presents itself in the form of Killian O'Dea who works at a record label. Killian becomes Skylar's white night in a dark time.
I liked both characters, Skylar had backbone, she could stand up for herself and despite where she had been in the past was resilient on any persuasion for what she definitely didn't want in her future again.
Skylar was an artist who hated the intrusion that fame brought and wasn't prepared to go there again.
Killian was stubborn, persuasive, knew Skylar was in no position to turn down his offer of help when she had just hit another all time low. Despite the hate Skylar tried to show Killian for reminding her of her position, weaknesses, her vulnerability and her need to be rescued there was sizzling chemistry between them but Killian was a work focused and professional man who had a stiffness to him and often came across as cold but as the plot progressed the layers came away and he thawed.
A good love story with heartwarming back stories to both characters. Set in Scotland. Additional character's include Autumn, Killians sister who also has her own book which I would also read.
As Dust Dances is told in Skylar's pov, leads to a hea. Has hot moments and a captivating plot.

People say the heart wants what it wants and will not be denied.
Those people are fools.
I’m a practiced hand at hiding from the world. The scars I bear are invisible to all but me, and I use them to sustain the walls I’ve built around myself.
He knocked my simple life into disarray and infiltrated my carefully constructed defenses.
The tight control I maintain is at breaking point, and ever since our eyes connected across a lunch hall, my world has been off balance.
I can’t have him, and he can’t have me.
I know it.
He knows it.
I’m just not sure that Tarrant Reigns has ever followed anyone’s rules.
Everything and everyone is against us.
Even his brother.
Caden brought us together, but now he’s standing in our way.
A Young Adult romance with matters of the heart
Two guys & one girl
I was immediately hooked on Dazed, the writing had me captivated.
A college school setting with Laura and her roommate and immediately you are thrust into Laura's thoughts of her past and how she was once one of the popular girls in high school giving you a little bit of her background and the something that happened to her that changed it all, but now in college Laura has her friend and roommate, she study's hard and stays away from the in crowd's and parties and made a new start Laura is happy to a point.
When two new students start college and both happen to be hot brothers it has the girls in college buzzing but once both boys see Laura they both have their eyes on her for completely different reasons of their own but Laura doesn't like attention drawn to her anymore she even dresses differently from how she used to avoid attention and isn't interested in them but they see her.
Caden befriends Laura and it's just that, a friendship until for his own reasons he asks Laura to be his fake girlfriend.
A huge dilemma hits when Laura realises she has feelings for his brother Tarrent but has to keep their fake relationship secret and neither of them follows through with their feelings or attraction.
Torrent is a huge player, a complete opposite to his brother Caden, he's the bad boy with tattoos and the more Laura begins to see him with other girls it hurts but at the same time she wants to keep her promise to Caden and be the pretend girlfriend.
So as you can see there is a whole lot of complications and matters of the heart for these young adults. There are dramas, twists and turns, typical high school immaturity and all the character's frustrated me at some point.
I was a little disappointed this was a college read and more young adult, the cover screams hot and dangerous when in reality it's just teen dramas and life choices.
A good read but not what I expected.

They say, ‘Be true to yourself and follow your heart.’
But what if the two things aren’t mutually exclusive?
If only one half is being honest, can you ever really be complete?
For years I was my own oppressor until I found my absolute.
He was the addiction I didn’t want to fight, one that nearly broke me.
But I knew, when it came to Casper, I was never going to be a survivor.
I enjoyed drowning too damn much.
I’m told if you love someone you should let them go. Nobody tells you that doing so will break your soul in half.
My life was easy when I had the college boyfriend who ticked all the right boxes. The night I laid eyes on Enoch Carter everything changed.
I thought I was doing the right thing. Now I know I was wrong. I don’t know how to retrace my steps, how to repair the distance, fix the mess I made.
I never meant to fall in love.
I stayed away because she was off limits. I broke the code, then left her bed without a backward glance.
All the black marks on my heart would make her dirty and I won’t allow that.
Friendship is all I can offer. Even if she doesn’t want my friendship, she needs it now more than ever.
I shouldn’t love her.
I can’t love her.

A believable plot to a point, a young girl goes out for a good time and what starts off as a dream come true turns into a nightmare with lots of regrets.
When Ambra is given the opportunity to exercise her skills in photography and shoot for a rock band she loves she is excited and ecstatic for the opportunity.
A great night and drinks after the show with the band is nothing out of the ordinary, the night is flowing and Ambra really hits it off with band member Noah.
The night progresses to them all going to the hotel and more drinking.
"Jack Daniels is an asshole"
The morning after is a nightmare for Ambra who doesn't remember going to bed, doesn't remember how she got naked and doesn't remember if she had sex?
A leaked photo and Twitter become the devil for both Amber and Noah, police are involved and there are accusations of rape another rumour that started on Twitter because Ambra couldn't remember if she willingly had sex or not.
This book will be an eye-opener for sure to some and I don't doubt girls put themselves in this position all to often and also how social media can be an enemy or friend when it gets a snippet of information on something and people play Chinese whispers ruining lives in the process.
I didn't know this was part one I would have liked to see how it all unravelled. The investigation still goes on to what really happened that night, I also didn't know there was no romance content something I missed reading as a romance reader. Although this was different to what I normally read I can't say I enjoyed it or disliked it, it was just different.

Exciting, thrilling and full of suspense, it just lacked the romance element for me.
I read The facilitator by Tracie Podger, it was hot and I loved the characters so I immediately jumped into another of Tracie's books but although it's a great book for those who love the mystery, thrill and suspense in a book it didn't have what I love and that's romance.
Harlot is a story of a girl called Charlotte who lost her parents and was put into the care of her cousin, Damien. Damien is a small-time criminal, a dealer and Charlotte who he calls Harlot is to earn her keep by being a prostitute, Charlotte is raped and passed around his friends. * The story does not go into detail of the things Charlotte went through.
A sad and sickening life for a teenage girl until finally one day she runs.
Charlotte only makes it to the next town over in her bare feet but finds solace there, a job and a place to stay, she changes her hair and hopes Damien won't find her.
Charlotte first meets Beau when he comes to visit his Gran who is the owner of the B&B Charlotte is staying in. You could say Beau is icy towards Charlotte, he doesn't trust her he thinks she's trouble and doesn't want anything like that falling on the doorstep for his elderly gran, Beau doesn't believe Charlotte is who she says she is, he knows she has secrets because he has enough of his own.
What I thought was going to be a great romance, two people who have baggage and dark backgrounds who then begin helping one another and finding each other turned more into a mystery, suspense, action and a story with twists and turns. There are secret vigilante groups who help women from the local cult escape and FBI involvement who are on the hunt to bring down the gang leaders and then amongst it all is Charlotte's cousin Damien who eventually hunts her down.
Harlot has lots of action and it's gripping stuff for those of you who don't mind the lack of romance, it's well written and has more than enough to keep you entertained.
I finished the book satisfied but at the same time disappointed, I really had hopes for Charlotte and Beau.
