The Arizona Vengeance are developing a reputation on the ice as one of hockey’s top teams. But one player’s reputation offthe ice might just keep him from scoring. . . .
I’m having the time of my life with my new brothers on the Arizona Vengeance. We may be an expansion team, but after notching some big wins, the entire league knows to watch out for Erik Dahlbeck. That’s me.
The only person who doesn’t seem to think I’m so great? Blue Gardner, the hot-as-f*** flight attendant on our team plane. I sure wouldn’t mind joining the mile-high club with her, but besides bringing me lukewarm coffee, she won’t give me the time of day. Whatever I did to rub Blue the wrong way, my teammates think it’s hilarious. After all, we’re used to women flocking to us. #puckbunnies
When I run into Blue back on land, I’m shocked to learn how she spends her time off: taking care of her handicapped brother. There are layers to this girl I never imagined, layers I can’t wait to peel away. And that’s a new feeling for me.
But first I’ve got to find a way to melt that ice-cold stare. Because as much as I try to pretend I don’t care what Blue thinks of me, how can you not care when you’re falling for someone?
The Arizona Vengeance series from New York Times bestselling author Sawyer Bennett can be read together or separately:
And don’t miss her Carolina Cold Fury novels:
Book two in the Arizona vengeance series. Cold fury was my go to series when I fancied a hockey romance and I foresee a new favorite series ahead.
I really enjoyed Erik and Blue's story, It was sweet, romantic and had a second chance romance feel about it although they only had a drunken one night stand years ago, one Erik doesn't remember but Blue most definitely does.
Erik is one of the more mature players in the team, he's had his playboy years and this story is Erik finally meeting a woman that makes him want to settle down.
Blue is the teams flight attend for all of their flights to games, she travels with the team which is often. Blue has always given Erik the cold shoulder and doesn't take kindly to any of his flirting and later in the story you discover why and what really went down to make Blue dislike him so much.
I liked both characters, Erik is a swoon-worthy kind of guy and Blue is a woman who not only works two jobs to care for her handicap brother but is also honest and straight talking, both are two great and likable characters.
ERIK is the story of two people that have lived and learned, put their party days behind them and at the right time find each other.
There's very little angst or drama in ERIK if any, this is just two people finding each other and working things out, making adjustments and learning about and from each other to build their relationship and the sex scenes are pretty hot too.
I was also so curious about the other character's and their story's Sawyer paints a great picture of everything in the main characters lives including those who are close to them and I will definitely be looking forward to Tacker and Legends story's, Legends story looks like it would be fun while Tacker without a doubt due to his past will have heartbreaking moments.
ERIK is a recommended heartwarming read and along with Cold fury a Recommended sports romance series.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hfn with no definite happy ending but I am hoping to see more of Erik and Blue in the next book.

Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills returns with an all-new swoon-fest of a novel about what happens when you look beyond labels and take a chance on love.
Sexy Athlete: I bet you…
Penelope Graham: Burn in hell, quarterback.
The text is random but Penelope figures out exactly who “Sexy Athlete” is. And why she shouldn't take his wager.
Walks on water and God's gift to women.
Just ask him.
His bet? He promises Penelope he’ll win her the heart of the guy she’s been crushing on. His plan—good old-fashioned jealousy. Once her crush sees her kissing Ryker, he'll realize what he's missing. Sounds legit, right? The only question is…why is Ryker being so nice to her?
Lover of sparkly vampires and calculus.
His mortal enemy.
Penelope knows she shouldn’t trust a jock, but what’s a girl to do when she needs a date to Homecoming? And Ryker’s keeping a secret, another bet, one that could destroy Penelope’s heart forever.
Will the quarterback score the good girl or will his secrets mean everyone loses this game of love?
*Author's Note: This is a standalone sports romance with an HEA.

An enemies to lovers college romance.
I just love it when you can finish a book with a goofy smile and a contented sigh and that's exactly what I got with I Bet You.
The cocky football player being a part of a bet to get the nerdy girl is not the sort of plot I haven't read before however Ryker just isn't the man-whore playboy he is portrayed as being when you peel back his layers.
Penelope is a straight talking sassy girl and I loved her character, she absolutely did not take any crap from anyone and I loved that about her, Ryker saw that as refreshing too when he normally has the girls in school falling at his feet so they can claim they slept with the star quarterback.
I really enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend this book. I haven't read the previous book but you don;'t need to this is very much a standalone and told in first person dual pov. Looking forward to more in this series this is one I would definitely follow. You don't have to be a football fan to read this either the plot solely focuses on the characters.
A swoon worthy BBF read and recommended.

A modern telling of a classic tale...
This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.
Heath is a full-length standalone romance
"Love doesn't give one damn about how much money you make or where you come from. Love is a storm that decimated everything in it's path with equal fierceness"
I guess that quote sums this tale up in a way. Heath is a brilliant journey of heartache, revenge and choices that ripple on through generations. A modern day spin on Wuthering heights which I haven't read.
The story of Heath begins with Helen telling the young Emily of a romance she witnessed while serving at a stately home for the Crenshaw's. Helen was a servant that saw all and starts this journey by telling the tale of Heath and Cat, how they fell in love but she was promised to another man, a story of all consuming love that couldn't win the battle over money and power..
Choices?, Cat chose Money over love and the consequences were damning, damning for Heath, damning for her child, damning for her brother when Heath was left heartbroken with the void of Cat only hatred and revenge could fill.
It doesn't stop there though, this story shows the effects it has on the next generation's, it was so fresh and different, I could not put this book down! There is so much to it, three love story's, three generation's.
HEATH is brilliant, deserving of five stars for the angst, the roller-coaster ride of emotions, the cleverly written plot that is so unique, the different characters all with their own love story to tell, filled with passion, heartache and heartfelt moment's.
Told in first person, some characters have their hea and some don't.
A Great collaboration with these two authors, K Webster I already adore and I will definitely read more from Nikki Ash.
Definitely a recommended read. It's a must read.

My name is Avery Decker, and my story isn’t for the faint of heart. It is about revenge and hatred, misery and violence. I wasn’t always this way even though it was in my blood. I grew up happy and in love with my best friend until she betrayed me and walked away. After that, I fell into the deep, dark world I was meant for.
Presleigh Clarke's actions turned me into the ruthless man I am today. Too bad for her, I believe people should pay for the things they have done. The more painful and messy, the better. I get off on making people bleed. It feeds my inner demon, and right now, he is starving. She crossed me once, so now she’ll know what it’s like to fear me. But not all stories end the way you think they will … mine certainly didn’t.

"My name is Avery Decker, and my story isn’t for the faint of heart".
On boy, this is dark, this is gritty, this is raw, Slaughter is the kind of book you ask yourself, should I be enjoying this?
A dark tale of a teenage romance that goes so horribly wrong through lies and evil actions.
Avery's father is as evil as evil gets, he rapes, beats and turns women into slaves. When Presleigh's parents die she goes to live with her boyfriend Avery in the same house where they witness the battered women coming and going and some not leaving alive.
Avery and Presleigh are in love and dream of getting away from it all one day until a knife is thrust onto their relationship and they are separated.
11 years later and Avery finds Presleigh and takes her. Avery isn't the same boy she left years ago, he's the image of his father, dark, unforgiving, filled with hate towards Presleigh who left him years ago without explanation and he plans to make her suffer.
Lies, danger, twists and turns and gritty scenes of rape and violence, it truly is a dark read and in the middle of it all a heartfelt romance.
For dark romance lovers Shantel Tessier does not disappoint, Slaughter is full of suspense and nail-biting scenes.
I was hooked from beginning to end with a hope for a happy ending driving me forward.
Told in first persons dual pov. Can be read as a standalone, the next book is Avery' s brother Tristan and I hope to see more of a hea for Avery and Presleigh in the next book.
Welcome to Hollywood, where wet dreams come true.
I fell for Marlee the second I met her- gorgeous smile, unimpressed by my stardom… bendy.
Not even remotely interested in me.
Of course the girl of my dreams has to be engaged to her hometown high-school sweetheart. Nothing’s ever easy, right?
Until they break up.
And she moves in with me.
The only person who can help her practice for her next role is me.
Because Marlee isn’t just new to Hollywood.
She’s a virgin.

A friend's to lovers romance.
I loved the first book in the series and was excited to learn there were 2 other sexy rock star brothers. Unfortunately WANT fell short in a few things for me.
I think Marlee and me got off on the wrong foot or maybe we didn't?
Marlee moves to L.A and becomes Jake's flatmate, Marlee and Jake first met when she was a dancer on one of his videos, now Marlee is wanting to step up in her career and auditions for a part in a movie after moving in with Jake in L.A. Now this is were it becomes a clanger for me and I just can't feel any liking towards Marlee.
Marlee can have the part in the production but is also given an opportunity to be introduced to people who can make her a star if she becomes Richard Thurgood's pretend girlfriend and basically his whore. Richard is a man with connections in the industry.
Marlee is a virgin and asks Jake to break her in so to speak, she will be experienced for Richard, she doesn't want to him to know she has no sexual experiences and wants to please him so she meets the obligations of the contract he gave her to sign.
Of course Jake agrees, he really likes Marlee and has hidden feelings for her, more than friendship.
If it wasn't for Marlee's potential contract with Richard and the fact she even considered pimping herself to get to her dream, I may have enjoyed the story more, I may have liked Marlee.
Jake is sweet, I loved him and the sex scenes were so hot!
WANT does lead to a result I was pleased with, I can't say hea because that is the shortest abrupt lead to a hea I've ever read.
Overall I like this authors writing, I didn't like the character's choices, I did love the first book so will definitely read the next book.

"Show Me the Way is one of my favorite reads of 2017. This book is absolutely perfect.” - Corinne Michaels, New York Times Bestselling Author
The first sexy, captivating, stand-alone novel in the brand-new FIGHT FOR ME series from NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author A.L. Jackson . . .
Rex Gunner. As bitter as he is beautiful.
The owner of the largest construction company in Gingham Lakes has been burned one too many times. His wife leaving him to raise their daughter was the last blow this single dad could take. The only woman he’ll let into his heart is his little girl.
Rynna Dayne. As vulnerable as she is tempting.
She ran from Gingham Lakes when she was seventeen. She swore to herself she would never return. Then her grandmother passed away and left her the deed to the diner that she once loved.
When Rex meets his new neighbor, he knows he’s in trouble.
She’s gorgeous and sweet and everything he can’t trust.
Until she becomes the one thing he can’t resist.
One kiss sends them tumbling toward ecstasy.
But in a town this size, pasts are bound to collide. Caught in a web of lies, betrayal, and disloyalty, Rex must make a choice.
Will he hide behind his walls or will he take the chance . . .
5 LITTLE THIEF STARS
I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS BOOK!!
I listened to this in audio and not only was the narration brilliant but it brought the characters, emotions and feelings to life, I was completely captivated and caught up in Rynna and Rex's story.
The book begins with Rynna moving back home to her Grandmother's house with a plan to take over her legacy as the local baker. Rynna was a victim in her childhood of bullying and torment. A sick and twisted joke broke her to the point that she fled and moved away leaving her Grandmother who she loved dearly and had been her only relative.
Single dad Rex, well, all I can say about Rex is, his bark is definitely worse than his bite and I wouldn't of minded his bite. Rex comes across at first as the guy with a chip on his shoulder, the silent brooding type and rude but put him in the company of his little girl Frankie and he's as sweet as one of Rynna's apple pies and oh what a turn on that was.
“All moments matter. We just rarely know how important they are until the chance to act on them has already passed.”
From the moment neighbors, Rex and Rynna meet there is instant chemistry, Rex instantly hates her for giving him feelings he thought he had not only buried but would never feel again.
Two people with hurts in their past, Rynna is a woman wanting to move on and put her past behind her, face her fears now she is back in her childhood town and then you have Rex who can't let his past go, still living in his hurt and anger with the center of his world Frankie his only joy. One willing to be brave and another struggling to take a chance.
A beautiful romance with a beautiful outcome and eta. Show me the way is the kind of story that has you thinking that maybe some things do happen for a reason and those reasons bring people together.
A recommended heartfelt romance, brilliantly written with a great balance of emotions and hotness. Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea. Can be read as a stand-alone.
This is my third five star read from this author and I cannot wait to read more. A.L Jackson fulfills what I look for in a romance read every time.
I have loved Channing Monroe all my life.
In first grade, he asked for my Trapper Keeper.
I hit him in the head with it.
Third grade, we were best friends. We kissed in seventh grade.
Eighth grade, he turned into a bad boy and the rest was a tumultuous storm.
Growing up, the problem was never love for us.
Bad times. Good times. There were times when I felt our love in every inch of my body, vibrating, making me feel like it could bring me back to life.
The problem was us.
The problem is that we’re living in two different worlds now.
Fallen Crest and its millionaires for me. Roussou and their criminals for him. I was thriving in mine and he was running his.
But there were nights I felt we couldn’t be further apart than we were, and there were nights I felt we shared the same heartbeat.
When was it time?
When was it time to either sacrifice, make a change, or walk away from the boy I grew up with?
A best friends, childhood to adult - coming of age love story.
Oh I do love these kind of romance's at times, I love the journey, the firsts the self-discovery's, the swoon-worthy moments, they make me go all gooey inside.
Heather and Channing aren't without their issues and live in a world of Crew's were there's bloodshed, gang wars, territory wars and this is something Channing battles with should he have heather, the girl he loves in the middle of it all but at the end of the day their souls are tied and that's one thing they never win the fight against.
Both Channing and Heather know they should be better apart, safer apart but they have the kind of relationship were they are just meant to be, can't fight it, can't deny it.
The story is told in the present then gives you a look into the past from the young age were Heather hated the boy who picked on her at school but she gave him a trapper keeper, from there their like hate/relationship blossomed. Trapper Keeper?, now this I had to look up, and good old Google, I didn't have a clue what it was so I discovered in English terms its a file you put your school work in.
A love story that spans over the years.
I have only read a few of the fall Crest High series but believe Channing and Heather are mentioned or are a part of these books. Bren who is Channing's sister is also a part of this story due to her being in Channing's care, Bren has her own story in the book Crew and having now read this I really want to read that too.
In a nutshell once I got past all the Crew stuff which I didn't have a full understanding of and reading between the lines discovered they are a group of people who have each other, they are family and protect those around them also the town they live in, well Channing's Crew does anyway, so yes I couldn't get my head around this at first and it took me a bit to get into the book but once I did and once I focused mainly on the characters and their love story I loved it.
The Boy I Grew up with is an epic love story, emotional, contains danger, has that MC romance feel about it, has highs and low's and it is so sizzling hot, Channing and Heather had burning chemistry between them.
Great story that at times made my stomach flip. Can be read as a standalone, told in first person dual pov, leads to a heartwarming hea.

“What are you doing here?”
His arms tightened a little around me, and his hand rubbed over my leg. I was buck naked in his arms. I should’ve dressed, but I didn’t have the energy.
His breath felt good on my neck as he answered. “I was up with the guys. I missed you.”
Meaning: he’d either been fighting or drinking with the group of guys he considered more family than family.
I lifted one of his hands to inspect the knuckles, rubbing a thumb over them. “They don’t look bruised up.”
His body tensed, all six feet of pure muscle.
Channing had a face for the fashion runways, a body of tattoos that could appear in any magazine, and an attitude that made him a leader among the rowdiest and most criminally inclined. He was whip smart, ruthless, cunning, cocky, and had a charming side that had started some of our fights. He could be too charming at times, putting his name on a lot of girls’ to-do lists. It’d been a problem for us since we were kids, and though it’d gotten better over the last few years, I knew women came onto him regularly.
But being transparent here, that wasn’t the cause of our problems lately.
His voice was quiet. “I wasn’t fighting.”
I turned and tried to smell his breath. There was a slight trace of bourbon, but that might’ve been mine. “You don’t seem drunk either.”
He chuckled, his eyes studying every inch of my face. He did this when he was trying to figure out where I was going with my statements and if that’d take us into a fight. We acted like we were married and in our sixties by now.
His thumb went to my mouth and pressed there, softly. “I really was just hanging out with the guys. Cruz came over, said you closed for him. I gambled, thought maybe you’d be up—or not.” That dimple again. “I was hoping just to slide in next to you.”
I sighed, and his thumb caressed my cheek before his hand returned to my leg. I moved back, resting in his arms again.
Loving her is savage mayhem.
She tore my heart to pieces.
And now she needs my help.
But when I find out what she’s hidden from me, my rage knows no bounds.
Will I punish her for her sins, or keep her safe from our enemies?
My ex-wife left my heart in burning shreds.
I had to find out from a letter that she was leaving me.
She was too much of a coward to even tell me to my face.
But fate has a cruel sense of humor.
And seven years later, when I rescue a woman from a brutal destiny…
She’s just as gorgeous as I remember her.
Smooth curves and dark brown hair.
Creamy skin and lips like sin.
I can’t decide what I crave more:
To claim her or to break her.
I shouldn’t want this. She left me in the dust.
But my mortal enemy wants her blood.
She needs my help.
Only I can protect her.
But Tori has been hiding secrets from me, and now, they threaten to ruin everything.
F**k it all.
I’ll kill everyone in the world if I have to.
I’m not losing my woman again.
Leaving Eli nearly destroyed me.
But I had no choice.
Seven years after I threw away the love of my life, he somehow finds me again.
Just when I need him, the man I’ve always loved grabbed me from the jaws of death.
Eli is an enigma, chaos personified.
Both sweet and savage, kind and cruel.
My angel. My demon. My savior. My doom.
But my body still longs for his, and I can’t help but give in to his touch.
It’s everything I remember and more.
There’s no time to relax, though.
The killers on my trail are threatening to ruin my rediscovered paradise.
Eli says he’ll keep me safe from them.
He says, this time around, he won’t let me go again.
But he doesn’t know about the secrets I’ve been hiding from him.
And if he finds out what I’ve done…
I might lose everything once more.
MAYHEM is a full-length, standalone, super steamy, bad boy motorcycle club romance novel from bestselling author HEATHER WEST.

MAYHEM is a good second chance MC romance.
I really liked Tori and Eli and the plot had more than enough action, hotness and angst to keep me turning the pages.
Tori left 7 years ago and now having lost her job and in need of money to pay the bills she finds her self in deep trouble with a loan shark who are out to get their money and interest.
When Eli comes across a damsel in distress out on the street he goes to the rescue only to discover the woman he is rescuing from her attacker is the woman who left him 7 years ago, the woman who was his wife and his first love who just disappeared leaving nothing but a note.
Eli is now the president of the MC that Tori had fled from years ago, she has her reasons for running and as the plot unfolds you discover there's more to her story than just leaving because she couldn't cope with club life.
An interesting story that leads to a well deserved hea for Tori and Eli. I loved the additional characters too and this being my first book by Heather West had me wanting to read more, not only in this series but her Mafia series too.
There's no unnecessary violence or blood shed in this book, there are no cringe worthy scenes or gritt. Mayhem is a love story in an MC setting and the plot focuses mainly on the characters.
Looking forward to more Mayhem son'w be my last read by Heather West.

Stand-alone Whisper Lake romance, complete with HEA--and plenty of heat and heart along the way!
There is a thin line between love and hate. For Allison Walsh, that line was a tightrope hanging a hundred feet in the air, with no safety net to catch her if--or when--she fell.
Ali was barely treading water after losing her big brother, who was her hero and best friend. His sudden death left her to raise her twin nephews when the man that was supposed to share the responsibility with her went MIA after the funeral.
Kade's MMA training made him a champion, but it never equipped him to fight off the one force beyond his control: his feelings for his best friend's little sister. He's sure his demons mean he's not good enough for her, but he's going to do everything in his power to conquer them.
When the sexy, tattooed fighter shows up on Ali's doorstep out of the blue with a bag hanging over his shoulder and a smile that would make a nun blush, he seems different. But after all he's put her through, Ali's not in a forgive-and-forget kinda mood.
Will Kade prove that he's the man worthy of Ali's heart and trust, or will his past sins determine their future?

A sweet childhood friends to lovers romance with plenty hot moments in the mix.
My first book by this author who I discovered while browsing books available in KU and it's free so worth grabbing because it is a sweet romance.
The story was touching.
Ali had lost her parents, then years later her brother in an accident leaving her with shared guardianship of his two sons along with Kade who was her brother's best friend.
Following the funeral Kade who is an MMA fighter or was, went AWOL leaving Ali to look after two teenage boys alone.
The blurb drew me to this story, hot MMA fighter, but there was no action with regards to that, the fighting was a part of his past by the time Kade came back on the scene turning up at Ali's door. THE BLURB WAS MORE EXCITING THAN THE STORY ITSELF.
Kade returns a year on from the funeral after claiming he needed to sort his life out which doesn't go down well with Ali who has been struggling raising the boys alone when they were also supposed to be Kade's responsibility too.
WHISPER OF LOVE is a good story with a happy hea, it lacked angst and I just didn't like it being third person, I couldn't connect with the characters and I've found that's normally the case with third person, it's more of a story than feeling like your with the character on their journey.
Should this author consider writing first person dual pov I may read another.
We used to be kings on top of the world, but it all went to hell...
My money and power are worthless.
All I want is blood bathing my knuckles, their soulless bodies dead at my feet.
I’ve never felt the need to take someone’s life until now.
They will pay.
I will sacrifice everything to protect my family.
To save the beauty that’s been haunting my dreams.
I don’t even know her, but the fear dancing in her eyes will be my worst nightmare.

Whiskey Renegade :: http://bit.ly/2Idc0td
I am so on the fence with this book! 2-3 stars.
Have you ever read a book that you wish was written differently, it has potential but the way things go get you so frustrated and you start asking why? well this is one of those for me.
*This review contains spoilers so if your one of those readers who like to judge for themselves do not read on.
WHISKEY RENEGADE continues were the previous book Whiskey and You finished, we're I presume is also where Kemp's best friend finds love in his story with Navy but this is Kemp's story and picks up from the drama's and danger still not put to rest from the previous book.
Kemp is introduced in the beginning as a hot businesses-man, a tycoon along with his best friend J.J and the book begins with them attending a country fair as a family, J.J, Navy and kids until they discover Navy is missing from her bathroom break. They discover an attempted kidnapping, a revenge from the same people they had issues with in the last book who are still out for revenge for whatever went down. This attack on the people he loves then sparks the start of Kemp's own revenge mission.
Kemp rescues Navy at the fair who was being dragged away when he finds her and he also discovers the van is full of other women for trafficking, he tries to rescue another woman but she slips from his grasp as the van drives away.
The above needed mentioning because this is where it got confusing and there are spoilers.
Kemp goes off to Mexico to put an end to everything once and for all, using his contacts in an MC he plans to take down the crime organisation who are out to get him and his partner and also rescue the girl he can't get out of his head who he discovers is called Rose.
Kemp claimed to have a connection with Rose, claimed to already have a love for her although they only met briefly, this connection not only spurred on his revenge mission but gave him additional purpose for what he had to do to protect those he loves but he also wanted to find Rose and make her his.
While plotting in Mexico with his connections, shagging quite a few whores while he's at it, Kemp then meets Charlie.
Charlie is looking for her sister who has been taken by the human traffickers and she is trying to track her down, so both Kemp and Charlie are both on the same kind of mission and have an understanding with one another and become close.
I then begin to think maybe Charlie is Rose's sister, is this why he felt connected to Rose when he grabbed her hand in the van?. Then as things progressed I thought maybe this mission was meant to happen to bring them together and Rose is Charlie's sister after all. Then I thought maybe they search for Charlie's sister together leading to Charlie finding her sister and Kemp gets his girl Rose but no, no and no, Charlie and Kemp end up together this is their love story among the grittiness?
Why was Rose even on this story anyway,? A question I ended up asking myself.
Kemp had to stop what was going on with the danger and threats anyway, he had to put a stop to the people who had made his family's world unsafe and wanted revenge so they could a be free from being on edge, looking over their shoulders this part of the plot was more than enough for Kemp to go looking for those who were a potential threat to him and his partner and their family, the girls in the van and his connection to Rose wasn't necessary to this story, well Rose wasn't anyway.
Kemp's character too was a contradiction, you meet Kemp the business tycoon and techie, family man, then in Mexico he's the bad boy, man-whore shagging prostitutes in his hotel room while waiting for the right time for his revenge mission. Kemp was like two different people, then when he meets Charlie he was different again?
In a nut shell both Charlie and Kemp accomplished what they set out to do, the bad guys are taken down and Charlie gets her sister back and along the way Kemp and Charlie fall in love.
And Rose? the girl who was part of the soul for Kemp's mission just gets a mention in a sentence near the end, Charlie stated in a conversation with her friend that Rose after being rescued by one of Kemp's men, she's doing well, gone back to college or whatever and they have become friends?

WHISKEY RENEGADE is a dark and gritty read, had the potential to be great but fell short, certain things as mentioned let it down.

Sawyer Landry is sexy, rugged, charming… and did I mention sexy? Back in college, we were best of friends - which meant I secretly hid an epic unrequited crush, while he dated every other girl on campus… and then told me all about it the morning after.
Now I’m back in Chicago for the first time in years, and Sawyer is determined to rekindle our friendship. I swore, I wouldn’t put my life (and heart) on hold for him again, but just one look at his handsome face and I know, he’s still the only man for me.
But this time, things are going to be different. No more sitting around, waiting for him to realize his dream woman is right in front of him. No, I’m going to make him see, I’m not just one of the guys anymore.
But can I really go from sidekick to soulmate? And will this playboy bachelor realize, true love is waiting - if he’d only take a chance?
Find out in the hot new standalone romance from Katie McCoy!
Five guys. One bar. And a whole heap of sexy trouble…
The fourth book in the series, I can't believe I'm only just discovering it!
I love a friend's to lovers romance and SOULMATE ticked all the right boxes.
Sawyer and Gabi were joined at the hip all through college, she was his wing-woman and Sawyer treated Gabi like one of the guys but Gabi's feelings for Sawyer were more than friendship, a secret she kept to herself.
Unrequited love *sigh,
Gabi got to a point where she couldn't stand the hurt anymore but didn't want to ruin her friendship with Sawyer and decided to move away? Gabi just left?, the thoughts of carrying on seeing Sawyer with different girls after nights out with him where she was then left to wave him off became too much and so she moved away without a word.
Gabi returns years Later for two reasons for her mum and for a new job all the while hoping she doesn't bump into Sawyer again who she cowardly left without a word or forwarding address, only fate has other ideas.
I loved Soul mate, I had to admit Sawyer frustrated me, the guy was blind and his fear of long-term relationships foolish and Gabi too, how she kept quiet for so many years as Sawyer's friend and secretly in love with him, then just ran without even confessing made me want to shake her, she was naive at some points but I suppose sometimes the time has to be right and let's just say the hot chemistry with these two once they finally got it on made up for all those frustrations.
As I said, I can't believe it's the fourth book, I loved Sawyer's friends and the author didn't give any spoilers away with their story's, which makes me eager to also read those and I also look forward to reading Dante's book which is the next one, he seems like the bad boy in the group... yum :-)
I was completely engaged throughout and can't wait to read more from Katie McCoy.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea, I wanted more to the hea but hopefully, I will see how they're getting on in the next book.

Wow! I loved Macey's book.
Seeing the ice queen finally thaw is something to behold.
Such an addictive series and I'm sure it's getting hotter or was it just the intense and sizzling chemistry between these two characters? Brilliant!.
I have been eager to read Macey's story, she's closed off, has the tongue like a whip and has walls so high no one can get to her heart not even her brother Mav anymore, well, until a one night stand happens then gradually Macey Prince's icey exterior finally begins to melt.
I was hooked from start to finish, I loved the angst, the suspense and the brilliant writing by L.A Cotton who had me intrigued as to who Macey's mystery guy was from the very beginning and once I knew I couldn't turn the pages quick enough to see how this would all unfold once the secret was out.
Wicked Bay is a brilliant series, teenage love, lies, secrets, angst drama there's never a dull moment with these characters and each book features a new couple.
Recommended YA/NA crossover series.
This has to be my favorite book to date!

I fell in love with a boy whose laughter was the soundtrack of my heart. And I played it on repeat until life’s streetlights flickered on and stole him away.
Top 40 f*ckboi.
Trashy reality TV trainwreck.
But once upon a time, he was the boy next door.
Once upon a time, he was every note in every song on every mixtape he had ever made for me.
Now he’s back. A lot more arrogant. A little more tortured. And more gorgeous than any memory I held dear could do justice.
I know no good can come from being anywhere near him. But Seattle is only so big, and if I’m going to get the exclusive of my career, I have to swallow my pride, take that dreaded walk down memory lane and agree to his terms.
Move in with him.
Immerse myself in his life—the life he left me to build.
And try not to fall back in love with the man who ripped my world in two.

"I fell in love with a boy who's laughter was the soundtrack of my heart. And I still play it on repeat".
Wow this book! A second chance romance, a teenage to adult love story, Rock-star romance, tick, tick tick went my box's and I was absolutely gripped.
RHYTHM *& BLU is the story of Rox and Riot Blu which begins with Roxy who is a writer being told by her boss that he has a big story for her and it could be big for her career. Rox is excited about the prospect until she is told who she has to get the exclusive interview with, the one and only famous rock-star Riot Blu, Rox's first love who left her behind for stardom and the boy now a man she still hasn't gotten over.
When Rox goes to interview Riot she then discover's this isn't just an interview but she has to live with him in his huge house, and there's even her own bedroom prepared and ready. Rox is to tell the story of the real Riot Blu his daily lifestyle, the man behind the fame.
Now this part of the plot isn't one I haven't come across before were a writer or blogger has to spend time with or go on tour with her ex or a man she has feelings for but that was the only familiarity it had to any other book I have read.
Rox is determined to still hate on Riot and be there to get her job done which isn't hard at times when old feelings start to surface, Riot has a girlfriend, a stunning model girlfriend who often tried to climb him like a tree in her presence.
Crank up the Angst meter right there, Poppy was one hell of a BITCH!!
In summary, I loved that it had my heart thumping in my chest, yes the characters had me wanting to scream at them from time to time and I definitely wanted to punch Poppy but at the end of it all I got exactly what I wanted and that was a well deserved hea for two people who were never meant to be apart in the first place.
I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
AVAILABLE IN KU. TOLD IN FIRST PERSON.
Clay Preston is the most desirable guy in school, and boy does he know it!
Movie star looks paired with a quarterback’s body, he’s every girl’s dream guy–but not mine. To me, he’s simply my best friend, the one who has been there as far back as I can remember.
Our relationship has always been easy, playful and affectionate, but after one lost bet, and one payment in the form of a kiss, the dynamic of everything changes…
Note: Always You is book one in the Best Friend series; however, it is a standalone novel with a complete ending.
What a beautiful story!
I have read three books now by Kirsty Moseley, what the heck have I been doing!! I want to devour this author's books right now having just finished Always You as well.
Each book I have read has had a lasting effect on me and each journey is unforgettable, I definitely need to read more from this author.
Always You is a Young Adult cross over into Adulthood and independence. The story of two best friends who become more, well eventually anyway.
I love a friend's to lovers romance and this book has all that and more including heartwarming, heartbreaking and intense moments.
I have to admit Riley and Clay didn't half make me roll my eyes at the beginning of their story, they are best friends who are very touchy-feely, they hold hands, hug and Riley jumps into his arms quite often and then she wonders why her boyfriend gets jealous. Clay has felt more for Riley for a long time and boy is she oblivious to it.
Always You is a journey into what becomes a beautiful relationship with lots of bumps and scrapes along the way to test the strength of not only Clay and Riley's relationship but friendship too but what can I say this is a relationship that could stand the test of time and I loved taking the journey with them.
This is one of those books that I am certain I read a long time ago but Goodreads doesn't seem to have it on my shelf *rolls eyes at goodreads, so I was not aware I had already read this once I started but things started to become familiar to the point I knew I had read it before so I downloaded the audio and it was like a brand new story for me even though I knew what was coming, the narrator did a fab job of doing both male and female characters. Riley and Clay are in their teens so she didn't have to put on that pretend deeper male voice and it worked.
Recommended YA friends to lovers story. Told in first person dual pov, leads to heartwarming HEA.
The beginning of any love story starts with the meet.
I’ve known Garrett Hollis since before I can remember, and I’ve loved him just as long. I loved him while he loved someone else. I loved him when he had a baby with her. I loved him when she left him.
The greatest of love stories is that between a dad and his daughter. I should know. I’ve had a front row seat. First steps, first words, all the big moments.
Garrett was just a teenager when Mia was born. I’ve watched him braid his daughter’s hair, hold her hand crossing the street, seen her asleep on his chest. I’m the best friend, the one they can count on for everything from dance lessons to motherly advice, anything they need. I’m their go-to girl.
The best part of any love story is the happily ever after.
But what if the happily ever after doesn’t include you?
All my life, that’s how long I’ve loved him.
Of course, he’s clueless

Swooooon! Wow, I loved this story. Prescott Lane has the ability in her writing to take you on a journey with the characters. Since I read THE REASON FOR ME in 2016 I have had nothing but 5-star reviews from this author.
A journey of unrequited love, friendship, an 18-year journey that will tug on your heartstrings. I shed a tear, fell in love with the characters, I felt the hurts and the joys, this book was so good!
"Garrett was just a teenager when Mia was born. I’ve watched him braid his daughter’s hair, hold her hand crossing the street, seen her asleep on his chest. I’m the best friend, the one they can count on for everything from dance lessons to motherly advice, anything they need. I’m their go-to girl".
Devlyn is the best friend from childhood through to adulthood, the friend who sticks through thick and thin even when it means putting her own wants and needs second, she's a selfless person and a good friend. she became a girl with a huge crush on her best friend, she has seen him with other girls, stuck with him when he became a teenage dad and even helped him raise his daughter, My heart ached for this woman who just never seemed to get noticed and Garrett never noticed his soul mate was right under his nose until FINALLY!!! he did.
I don't want to add any spoilers this book has so many moments, it's a book where I can say just to absorb the feels and enjoy the journey.

He’s a player.
He plays the bass with expert fingers. He plays women with intoxicating charm. And he’ll play me with the ease of a virtuoso.
Who better to teach me to play than the master himself?
I’m his model student, front row, pencil sharp. Pick up lines? I’ve got them. Free drinks? By the dozen. Kissing? Let me grab my chapstick.
But the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is that there’s so much I don’t know. Like why his touch sets off a chain reaction straight to my nethers. Or how I’m certain each kiss is the best I’ll ever have, until the moment his lips take mine again.
There’s so much I don’t know.
Like the fact that I’m only a bet.
But we are what we are. He’s a player, through and through.
And I’m the fool who fell in love with him.

Ah, I love it when I finish a book with a smile on my face.
Player is book 2 in the Red lipstick Coalition and can be read as a standalone. 3 women who each have their insecurities and make a pledge to put on their red lipstick wherever they need to feel brave and bold and this is Val's story.
A story of two people who lack confidence in their own ways, Sam is a player and can get any woman he wants but thinks Val is a woman who is too good for him and he would never make a move on a good girl and then there's Val never sees herself as good enough for anyone.
"𝙂𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣’𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙢𝙚.
𝙃𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣’𝙩 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥".
Val has a huge crush on Sam, he's a man she believes is on a whole different level to her, someone who dates stick thin beautiful women. Val has so many body insecurities through childhood teasing and cruelty she doesn't see herself as good enough or beautiful, especially for the Adonis in a section of the orchestra she also works at where she plays her trumpet.
Val really does need the courage to blow her own trumpet in this journey and Sam helps her to do that.
Val was so head over heels for Sam she constantly fumbled around him, the girl lacked confidence big time until her sisterhood reminded her to put on her red lipstick and ask him out, what can she lose, right?.
Player is a friend's to lovers story with a twist.
Sam is the kind of guy who doesn't lack confidence, a player but has always noticed Val so when his slime of a friend says he's going to make a play for her the conversation turns into a bet were Sam ends up with a month to take Val out or Ian is making a move on Val himself. Sam's intentions are to protect Val but he keeps the bet to himself.
Ian is a slime through and through, honestly, you will grow to really dislike the guy as the story progresses.
Val being Val doesn't just pluck up the courage to ask Sam out but asks him to teach her how to date, how to be more confident. Val has never had a boyfriend and Sam who secretly likes her but also has a month to keep Ian away accepts her offer, let's just say he's a thorough teacher with a willing pupil.
Some parts of the plot aren't something I haven't read before in other books and it was predictable but I loved Val, loved how Sam made her feel and grow in confidence and I also loved Sam, he just had a manipulative friend that he should have gotten rid of years ago.
Swoon-worthy moments, hot moments, all in all, Player contained everything I love in a romance.
"Love is music. The simple profundity of those three words struck me deep. And when I looked up into her smiling face, I felt the notes in my soul".
I haven't read piece of work yet and plan to read it, Val's friends came across as genuine girls and fun so I am also looking forward to reading the first then the next book in the series. Player doesn't give anything away with what happens in Rin's story so I'm glad about that and can jump into that book too spoiler free.
Player is told in dual pov and leads to a hea

The night flew by, time speeding up and sliding past with nothing to mark the hours but his laughter and my smiles and our bodies bouncing around the parquet like we had nothing in the world to do but dance. I had no idea how late it was until “New York, New York” came on with the house lights.
Sam hooked me under his arm and guided me out into the chilly fall evening. Like an idiot, I’d come without a jacket, and I tried to play it off like I wasn’t cold. A shiver wracked down my spine, betraying me.
He shrugged off his leather jacket. “Here, wear this.”
“B-but then y-you’ll be cold,” I said, shifting away from him in an effort to stop him. “Look, it’s n-not even cold. It’s f-fake cold. It’s only what—like, sixty out? M-my body is j-just being drunk and d-dumb.”
“Val.” The word was a gentle warning. He held out his jacket like a matador. “Put it on.”
“N-no,” I said with a laugh.
He shook it once like he was taunting me. “Toro.”
I giggled, stumbling a little as I brought my hands to the top of my head, pointer fingers to the stars. “Olé!” I cheered as I charged. But instead of running through his jacket, I found myself in his arms.
I didn’t know how it happened. The jacket was there, and then it was gone. But instead of being laid out on the sidewalk like I should have been, Sam’s arms were hooked around my waist, our bodies winding together and twisting from the force of his catch. And then I looked up, and time stretched out in a long, still moment. His eyes on my mouth. Mine on his. His nose millimeters from mine and his mouth so close, if I turned my head just right, our lips would brush. The warmth of him was everywhere.
I wasn’t cold anymore. I was on fire.
So I said the first thing that entered my empty mind.
“Are you going to kiss me, or am I gonna have to lie to my diary?”
The moment broke with our laughter, filled the air around us, stopped my chugging heart. He pressed his lips to my forehead.
I sighed. “I guess that’ll do.”
He hooked his jacket over my shoulders, taking a moment to look over my face, watching his fingers as he tucked a loose curl behind my ear. “Come on. Let’s get you home. You did good tonight, Val.”
“Thanks to your expert advice.”
But he smiled. “Pretty soon, you’ll figure out you didn’t need me at all.”
And I smiled back and pretended like it was possible that statement held an iota of truth.
Dear Mister...**strike out** no, too formal.
Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.
To whom it may concern,
Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.
I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?
So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.
I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter.
I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.
For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.
And as long as we're being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.
Who doesn't love a good brother's best friend romance?!?!
4, I want to bang you stars
A fun and flirty read. I thoroughly enjoyed Peyton and Rome's story.
A brilliant combination with these two authors, having read books by both of them before and always enjoyed whatever they write, both of them together was brilliant!
Rome comes across at first as the type of guy who definitely has a stick up his rear, he's the arrogant boss and Peyton is the employee on another floor that he never notices.
Peyton has is bad for Rome and so because she's leaving soon and mixed with a little alcohol encouragement she writes an anonymous email declaring her lust.
The flirty emails turn into a friends to lovers romance, Peyton is so funny.
A flirty read, I certainly had many laughs along the way.
For a light-hearted read Love Sincerely yours is a must read.
I loved Peyton's anonymous emails to Rome, I had a few laughs and couldn't wait for Rome to discover his mystery straight talking admirer. Also, I am looking forward to the next book Rome's sister is returning home and his childhood best friend Hunter seems to have a few secrets there concerning Bailey so exciting stuff ahead and another book to look forward to.
I didn't get a full hea in this book but hopefully, I will see more of Peyton and Rome in the next and hopefully see what's next for them.

No one moves.
No one speaks.
No one but Peyton. “Go ahead and do it.”
Her voice is small, but it carries just enough to reach my ears.
“Do what?” I spit out almost sarcastically.
“Kiss me.” She’s daring me, but I’m not an idiot.
I rear back like she’s kicked me in the nuts, putting space between us, hissing, “Are you insane?”
Another laugh. “That’s what I thought. McBossypants and his proper, Mr. Goody-Two-Shoes manners.”
“We. Are. At. Work,” I bite out, words halted.
“I’m not at work—I only came in to clear out my desk..."

Everyone wants to get close to a rock star.
The bright lights.
Those talented fingers strumming… a guitar.
Everyone wants to bang a rock star.
So why do I keep running from the one who wants me?
I’m America’s Sweetheart.
I have a reputation.
He’s a boy-band icon turned rock god.
He’s every flavor of bad.
And he’s much, much too young for me.
If I end up in Nick Ryder’s bed, my career and I will both be screwed.
...but that’s only if I’m caught.
America's sweetheart, actress Natalia Lowen and Nick Ryder, famous rock star.
I Loved this combination, not just the actress and rock-star combo but the fact the relationship in this book contains an older woman, younger man romance and it's soooo hot!!.
I loved Nick and Natalia.
Natalia has a squeaky-clean image, whereas Nick has the typical rock-star image pictured with different women, a man-whore persona.
When Nick and Natalia first meet in a nightclub there's instant hot chemistry and Nick wants more but as the story progresses, Natalia keeps pulling herself back from Nick's advances to protect her image.
The dancing around in their relationship keeps you glued to the pages, it was fun, romantic and boy was it hot!! Natalia is insecure in the relationship because she is 13 years older and Nick is insecure because, well, Natalia was his childhood fantasy.
I loved it, and will definitely read more. So discovering at the end there are more books with Nick's brothers leaves me wanting more especially if they are like Nick. Nick was charming and swoon-worthy and hot in the bedroom.
Natalia was Nick's childhood fantasy and his dreams came true.
"I kiss her greedily. Hungrily. Like a starving man. Like I've been waiting for this kiss all my life and maybe I have".
Loved it, grab it, I am so looking forward to more in this series.

He’s always made the scoring plays, both on and off the ice, but this time he has a new goal … the one for Meghan’s heart.
I’m Justin Davis, all-star center for the Charlotte Strikers. For years, I chased the spotlight, not only with hockey, but through television as well. That’s why I decided to play the bachelor on Rich and Single. Unfortunately, I was stuck with a fake fiancée from hell who I couldn’t stand to be around. Now that our contract is up, I’m allowed to do whatever I want, with whoever I want. I plan to take full advantage of my newfound freedom.
After being on the show, people don’t recognize me for hockey anymore, even with just winning the Stanley Cup for my team. That’s why I’m spending the off season in a remote cabin in Wyoming where the chances of people knowing me are slim. Space is what I need, but when a down to earth beauty needs help on her ranch, I can’t resist. Meghan Taylor is exactly what I’ve been looking for, even though I’m not the kind of man she wants.
Getting her to see the real me has its challenges, but the more time I spend with her, the easier it is for her to see that I’m not the same guy she knows from TV. Being away from the media is one thing, but as soon as I’m back in the spotlight, I’m afraid it’ll change what we have. I don’t want to lose her, but I also can’t hide away in Wyoming forever. It’s a choice I’m not ready to make.

Hot of the ice!!
Another brilliant and beautiful romance by L.P Dover. Book 4 in the Breakaway series.
Each book in this series features a hockey player. I love all these books, in fact I always enjoy anything that L.P Dover writes. It doesn't matter if you aren't a hockey fan, the characters and what is going on in their lives take prime position in this story over the sport itself.
About the characters
Justin has come to a point in his life were all his team mates are settling down, a realisation that hits him as he comes out of a toxic relationship with a money grabbing devious girlfriend. Justin he has recently done a tv series but still loves his hockey, with a bad relationship behind him and negative press following him Justin buys a ranch and goes there to escape it all until training begins again.
Meghan and Justin first meets at the airport when they bump into each other and he asks her about car hire, this is when they discover they are actually neighbours. Of course Meghan knows who Justin is, he is all over the tv and news at the moment but she doesn't let on at first that she knows who he is.
Meghan is a single mum who lost her husband in Afghanistan. When she meets Justin there are definitely sparks something she hasn't felt since her husband who died eight years ago. Justin and Meghan become more than friends and neighbours and they decide to keep their relationship to themselves especially with all the media attention Justin has at the time to protect Meghan's daughter. And then as the relationship between them develops it's time for decisions.
Off the ice is an easy going romance where two people finally meet there soul mates, a story of second chances, settling down with hotness thrown in, Justin is so swoon worthy, its a definite score.
A great series to follow, Justin and all the team mates are like family and some are actually family I love that you also get to see characters from previous books in this series if you have read the previous books.
Told In dual pov and leads to a swoon worthy hea. Can be read as a standalone.

‘Manik, an all-new standalone Dark Romance from Amo Jones is Available Now!
I’m Beatrice Kennedy, but everyone calls me Beat. I live a low-key life, fresh out of college and drifting from town to town until I find my home.
I love music, and how it stirs even the deepest and untouched parts of your soul. Depending on what you choose to listen to, would depend on what it touches. It’s the drug we all damper in, only different strains. My strain is Jazz. The smooth instrumental strums that take over me. The sound of cigar smoke, bourbon and an old dusty fedora hat. My strain wasn’t rap, and it sure wasn’t laced with some A-class shit like murky blue eyes casted down from the Lord and the Devil’s handcrafted smile.
I knew who he was—the whole world did. One fateful night set off a chain of events, events that no one was coming back from. You can’t save people who don’t want to be saved. You can’t pull them up from the ocean when they’ve latched themselves to an anchor. Love was my anchor, destruction was the water that was drowning me, and the rope that was so tightly clamped around my ankles, was woven with the lyrics of Aeron Romanov-Reed, also known as, 'Manik. steals hearts from all around the world, but one night, he stole something that wasn’t his to steal. Me.

About Amo Jones
Amo Jones is a small country girl totally winging this author thing (she's probably doing it all wrong). She likes cake, loves wine, and her religion is magic. She's a profound work-a-holic, but when she's not writing, you can find her chilling with her kids & partner at the nearest beach, with a cocktail in her hand.
New Zealand is not a state of Australia and rugby is the best sport ever played.

A DARK MAFIA ROMANCE
"I don't like people playing in my sandbox".
Aeron Romanov Reed aka Manik. A famous rapper and also the son of a Russian mafia boss and a Vor.
MANIK is gritty, dark, contains scenes of rape and is full of twists, turns and all I love about Amo Jones.
Unpredictably, you just never know where the plot is going to go.
Beatrice lost the family she knew she lost her parents when young and was raised by Grandparents and has moved from Australia to New Orleans, she's a dancer/waitress and her world as she knows it is blown out of the water as soon as she witnesses a crime and is taken my Manik and held captive.
This isn't a captee falling for the captor story, It's so much more and the twists are surprising.
The devil doesn't come dressed in a red cape and pointy horns. He comes as everything you've ever wished for
A page turner, I love being on the edge of my seat and MANIK was definitely that.
The 2 Pac references meant nothing to me, I am after all in my 40's but the story itself was gripping.
A good dark gritty read. Told in first person and leads to hea.
