![]() How do you deal with a life you don’t want and a future you’re terrified of? Run. That’s what I’ve planned to do for years; run from this narrow world I was born into. Run from the friends I love, but who bind me to the roots I want to leave behind. Run, towards the anonymity I so desperately crave, to a place where no one knows who I am; where no one cares who my family are. But something happened that changed all of my plans. My best friend, my sister, fell off her pedestal and hit the ground with a crash. Now I realise I’m not as ready as I thought I was to run from this life and these people. Maybe I need the roots that I thought were holding me back, that were actually just stopping me from floating away. I’m a Scion, one of the elite. I was born into this life, but I crave more. Everything that’s happened in the last year has shown me that I need my roots, but I want to spread my wings too. College, boys, adulthood, it’s all calling my name and it’s time to figure out who I am. My name is Emmy Devereaux and I’m so much more than just the daughter of the president of The Doomsday Sinners MC. PURCHASE LINK https://books2read.com/wingsandrootsgw ![]() My favorite book to date by this author I am loving this spin-off series from Archers Creek, I love MC romance but following the next generation has also been brilliant. Wings & Roots ticked all my boxes. I love a childhood to adult romance, I love a protective male character and I absolutely adore a coming of age best friends to lovers story. The Scions as they were known in their High school, children of the Doomsday sinners are ready to fly the nest and move to college, they make a decision to all move to the same college together. These are five characters that have a close bond with each other but none of them are as close to each other as Griff and Emmy who have had a special bond since the age of 8. I loved the slow-burn in this story although the romantic in me got frustrated and I wanted Griff and Emmy to get together sooner but these were two best friends who were afraid to act on their feelings, Emmy brushed her feelings aside and was excited at the prospect of a new life away from home where no one knew who she was or who her family was, while Griff was reaching the point of boiling especially when Emmy was starting to get interest from the Male students from college, back in their hometown no one dared to approach the daughter of the MC president but college away from home was a whole new ball game and Griff had to make a decision to either confess his love or lose her to someone else. I didn't want it to end, I was totally engrossed in this story which was brilliantly balanced by the author with just the right amount of angst and interest in the plot to keep me turning the pages. I cannot wait for more from Gemma Weir, I will be eagerly awaiting her next book. Wings and Roots is about self-discovery, accepting your roots and in the process, learning to fly. Beautiful! Told in first person dual pov. Can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend experiencing the dynamics of the close friendships these characters have with one another and their background so I would suggest starting with book one in this series

![]() Manhattan is a stand-alone, small town, country romance in the Becker Brothers Series. Everyone knows not to fall in love with your best friend. But when your best friend is Michael Becker, it’s impossible not to. He’s everything our town knows a Becker brother to be: devastatingly handsome, charming as a thief, and the icing on the cake — a sentimental musician who’s never without his guitar. And he was mine. At least, that’s what I’d convinced myself. Our bond was born in elementary school, strengthened by circumstance and the promise to always be there for each other, no matter what. And the best thing about my life was being friends with Michael Becker. Until it was the worst. I watched him fall in love with someone else, and helped patch him back up when she left him behind. But when he drops the bomb that he’s moving to New York, I realize it’s my last chance to tell him how I feel. And I ask him to make one more promise. One summer. One list of adventures to remind him that our small town has more to offer than memories of the girl who left him behind. One last chance to tell him I’m in love with him. And I’m just dumb enough to believe that maybe he could love me, too. Manhattan is LIVE! Grab your copy today on Amazon or read for free in KU! amzn.to/2YYgpcs ![]() A beautiful story of unrequited love, friendship, a friends to lovers story filled with heartwarming and moving moments. I haven't read the previous books in this series and didn't need to, Manhattan is a standalone but does interlink with other books, there is also a theme running through this book where Mikey Becker and his brothers are still trying to discover how their father died and Kylie helps them crack the code on a laptop of their fathers but you still don't get the answer to what the oldest brother finds, this I presume is in the next book and I would love to not only read previous books but the next one too. Kandi Steiner's writing is easy to read, has ups and downs, contains beautiful and interesting characters, for a Small town romance this is a must-read. Mikey Becker and Kylie Nelson have been best friends since they were eight years old, Kylie has been there for him as he has her. Kylie had just lost her mother and Mikey lost his father when they first met. Kylie through the years has been his constant, secretly falling in love with him until he fell for a girl that wasn't her and then she was there two years later to pick up the pieces when his girlfriend left town for the highlights as a singer leaving him behind broken-hearted. Mikey and Kylie's story is heartbreaking, heartwarming and beautiful. I loved it and would highly recommend this as a book you can get lost in, a book you can curl up with on a cold winters day, or any day for that matter and enjoy the journey with these characters, through their ups and downs that leads to an adorable hea. ![]() From USA Today Bestselling Author Aly Martinez comes an all new standalone. I don’t love you anymore, he lied. There was no such thing as giving up on Ramsey. Love may have been our curse, but he was mine—then, now, and forever. What an absolutely beautiful, heartbreaking and heartwarming story. RELEASE is so original, I was captivated by Thea and Ramsey's journey. Twelve years, eight months, three weeks, four days and thirty-seven minutes. That was how long he'd been gone. It all started when eleven year old Ramsey and his younger sister Nora moved in just doors down from Thea after being evicted from their home. On the day Thea met Ramsey both of them were instantly connected by grief, they became one half of a whole even if they didn't realise the significance of their meeting at the time and the events that would follow. Thea and I were two of a kind. Lost, broken. Forgotten. Stuck. RELEASE goes from past to present, from the childhood years to teenage years and what lead up-to the event of Ramsey being behind bars in the present, the day he is released. History repeats itself when Ramsey keeps pushing Thea away like she did to him all those years ago as a girl when she was angry and filled with grief over the death of her mother but Thea remembers how Ramsey's persistence and kindness won her over and her determination to make her hers again doesn't let her give up on him. He was my first boyfriend. My first kiss. My first love. He was my first everything. Thea is in love with the only boy now a man she has ever and will ever love and she has been counting down the days to his release from prison even though he would not contact her or write back to any of his letters except one that said "MOVE ON" It was beautiful, heartbreaking, the twists and turns surprising. Two halves of one whole, the way it was always supposed to be. Release is coming of age, full length romance, standalone novel by Aly Martinez. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' and if you want to start your 2020 reading off on a high, I would highly recommend you start with this moving, captivating and emotional story, beautifully written by Aly Martinez. ![]() There's a myth that floats around in my city. They say the president of the local biker gang is ruthless, heartless, and that once you cross him, you'll spend the rest of your life looking over your shoulder. REVIVED is one of those stories where you know where it's going to go but the angst and trepidation leading up-to that hea is heartwarming and satisfying and gives you those gooey feelings. About the plot; Following leandro's accident he is struggling with getting back into a car, any car not just his racing car. leandro is friends with Carrick and Andi from the previous book so this book is interlinked but can be read as a standalone. Andi advises Leandro to see her own therapist India Harris who has also Andi get over her own fears and have even become friends. When Leandro and India meet there is Instant attraction between them and the more time they spend with each other during their therapy sessions the chemistry intensifies but India Harris hasn't exactly had an easy life her background is sad and she has worked hard to get where she is today and doesn't want to risk her practicing license by getting involved with a patient and so she shuts down any thoughts of more with Leandro and after a kiss they share refuses to be his therapist anymore. Months later and the two meet again, the chemistry is still there, the lust and longing still tangible between them making these two inevitable. I loved this slow-burn romance and the hotness when they were finally together was off the charts! I still have my favorites by this author but if your looking for a hot read with a sexy race car driver this is definitely a one click! I listened to this in audio and the narration was refreshing, hearing an English Manchester accent and the sexy accent from Leandro was good too, making the characters come to life. There are twists and turns, a great buildup to the hea and likable characters, REVIVED is an all round read that hit all the right spots ![]() Dallas Van Zant… Water polo god. Shameless flirt. Beautiful disaster in the most literal sense of that label. Trust me, it’s not hyperbole. He’s in big trouble with the law. What does this have to do with me, you ask? Unfortunately, a lot. For some reason, which I still can’t quite wrap my brain around, I’ve been talked into driving him around as part of his plea deal. Problem is, he makes me nervous. I’m not good with people, men in particular, popular athletes especially. I’ve worked really hard to get my disability under control and one minute in his company and all my hard work flies out the window. To top it all off, I promised myself that I was going to make some serious changes this year. I’m tired of feeling awkward around boys. I’m tired of never having had a boyfriend. I’m tired of being lonely. And he’s wrecking my plans. But I’m also not the type to turn away a person in need. So I’ll do what I must to help him out. I’ll just pretend that I’m not enjoying his company. And I’ll ignore the fact that he’s sweet and funny. And I’ll tell myself every day that he’s out of my league. Because I’m as inexperienced as they come. And Dallas Van Zant is nothing but wild. I have read books by this author before Bulldozer and Heartbreaker, Nothing but wild is nothing like those, it contained very little angst, it's sweet, its heartwarming and contains a swoon-worthy hea, it had all the feels of a college romance with younger characters, a Y/A N/A crossover. Dallas and Dora are opposites, Dora is a sweet girl with a stammer, she volunteers at an animal shelter while Dallas is a popular guy, a party goer and they are from completely different backgrounds but they worked. Their slow build from friendship to romance was heartwarming. I haven't read previous books in this Malibu University series but having read reviews, I suggest doing so before this story and understanding the dynamic of this friendship group with Dallas and other characters because I couldn't really bond with Dallas at all and I think that would have come from reading previous books and wanting to know more about him, I didn't find him interesting enough and I do prefer more angst in my books too which I found very little of in NOTHING BUT WILD to keep me eagerly turning the pages. In summary; a heartwarming young adult, friends to lovers story ![]() A memorable night of passion refuses to stay just a memory in this sizzling and scandalous romance from bestselling author T L Swan. I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York. The food, champagne, and service were impeccable. The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better. He was suave and intelligent. We danced and laughed our way around Boston and had a night of crazy passion that no woman would ever forget. That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him—until today. I loved THE STOPS OVER, I listened to this in audio and found the narration great, really bringing the characters to life and the hotness, off the charts!! Jameson Miles is basically married to his company, he's a CEO and runs the company with his 5 brothers, let me tell you this prospect has me all kinds of excited and I cannot wait to read more about these hot Miles men. When Jameson and Emily meet its on a plane, they sit together, chat together and have growing sizzling chemistry the more time they spend with one-another which leads to a whole hot night together on a layover. Neither exchange numbers and neither expect to see each other again BUT they do when Emily starts her new job at Miles media as a reporter. Emily is still sort of in a relationship with a guy who is nothing short of a deadbeat feeling sorry for himself after his football career ended following an injury and he also removed states to join Emily. When Jameson and Emily re-connect during her induction building tour it's quite the surprise for both of them. Jameson is hot and cold, turns into some sort of stalker watching Emily on CCTV but the guy just does not know how to have a relationship and be the CEO. Yes you will probably get whiplash, you will also get annoyed and frustrated with the characters and if I had read this on my kindle I can tell you without a doubt I would have been flipping the pages like a mad woman for the end result to see how this couple who are undoubtedly made for each other make it work, instead I listened to Sebastian York's chocolate tones that made MR Miles very hot indeed and very bearable considering his behavior and frustrating indecision. I want more from these Miles men, I'm not normally someone who likes office romance or CEO's but I loved this. ![]() Since moving to beautiful Cedar Tree, Colorado, Emma Young, mother of one adult daughter, has worked from home doing some online bookkeeping and baking for her best friend's diner to supplement her disability pension. Life has been pretty good, that is until she received a strange phone call that starts an alarming chain of events. Investigator Gus Flemming is hot on the trail of a bail skip with organized crime connections that bring him to Cedar Tree. Once there, the focus of his investigation lands squarely on the gently rounded shoulders of a vivacious red haired Emma, whose physical limitations have done nothing to dampen her zest for life. When it becomes clear that Emma is at risk, Gus does't hesitate to step in and protect her. Call it a job with some very hot benefits...... ![]() SLIM TO NONE was a really good book for a freebie and I'm glad I took a chance on this new to me author. The main characters are in their late forties, I loved this and there aren't enough of these types of books. Emma bakes cakes for her local diner and also does book keeping online, when she gets a visit from Gus investigating a case and trying to track down some criminal activity that has lead him to Emma who is all part of the puzzle her world is turned upside down. I liked Emma she is a strong independent woman with a disability who has started her new life in this small town following her divorce but I suppose things happen for a reason because the moment Emma and Gus meet their is sizzling hot chemistry. Gus was especially hot, bossy, sexy and all kinds of in control, I loved his character as the hero. Gus comes to Emma's rescue more than once when she is in danger from a dangerous criminal who wants all her files and any evidence of their connection and accounts wiped away and is also willing to wipe Emma away in the process. Slim to None is a good detective type of plot, full of hotness, twists and turns, contains likeable and interesting characters and I also found myself intrigued by secondary characters too, so I would definitely read more in this series. I listened to this book in audio and it was difficult to tell at times with so much dialogue but it did sound like third person pov which I don't like in a book to read, so I would have to read a sample first or listen to another in audio. The only thing that annoyed me was the characters many references to being old, feeling old *cough *cough woman in her forties here and I don't feel old? I even checked to see if the author was young due to these references pretty much painting someone n their forties as being close to death in your late forties but she isn't, which left me confused. This book is free and I highly recommend one clicking and downloading the audio book. ![]() From bestselling author B.B. Jason's comments and ways had me How long with laughter he's annoying yet cute, basically he's a little bit marmite.
