![]() They warned me not to take this job. They said you were ruthless, impossible to please… I said I was better than them. I wouldn’t fall for your charm, your arrogance, or how sexy you fill out that suit. I wouldn’t fall for your deep brown eyes or the way that muscle moves in your square jaw when you’re pissed. I said I could resist you. I was wrong... (BOSS OF ME is a STAND-ALONE workplace, enemies to lovers, military romance with a badass alpha boss and the feisty woman who steals his heart. No cheating. No cliffhangers.) This was a good read with a perfect balance of hotness, story line and leads to a hea. Patton Fletcher is an intense broody hero, a retired soldier who is used to not only bossing people around but watching over those in his care. I guess even though he has now left the forces he can't switch off and has an intense constant worry for his friend Marley who he and his team rescued when he was taken and held hostage while serving in the forces and Marley hasn't been the same since, most of the plot focuses on Marley. To be honest I was more intrigued about Marley, he had more going on in regards to angst and drama and I would be really interested in reading his story. Raquel was the new hire in his office, she was clever, extremely intelligent but at the same time didn't come across as a nerd, she was likeable but not exciting. There was instant chemistry between the two but the push and pull didn't last long at all, so I wouldn't really class this as an enemies lovers story as I know it but it was good and entertaining. Boss of me was a romance that had a little angst, a good plot, hotness and a heartwarming hea.
