![]() Mike Murphy is the new cop in Town. He makes me crazy in all the right ways. So crazy that I lose my filter around him, not to mention my ability to function like a normal person. The attraction between us is undeniable and something we can't ignore. But there's a secret that threatens to come between us. When we uncover more than we should, things become dangerous. Will we be able to walk away, or will the quest to find the truth be too tempting? ![]() Not what I expected at all, not from the blurb, not from the cover, I was surprised. The main characters meet fairly early on in the book and there's instant chemistry. Sydney is moving back to her childhood town of Salem following her Grandfathers death and intends on taking over his practice as a vet. On her first night home Sydney meets Mike who is the town cop. Mike is keeping an eye out on her Grandfathers place while it's empty. There's a rom-com feel at this point in the story and I loved how it was going, Sydney had no mouth filter when nervous and she was all kinds of all over the place whenever Mike was around, she was funny and Mike is all kinds of swoon. The two become an item quite quickly and after receiving a note and a coin from her Grandfather in his will which is mysterious and like a historic treasure hunt of sorts they both begin a journey together. This story was quite unique and anyone who loves a mysterious kind of plot would love this book, it had a lot of interesting content and exciting moments, a trail of hidden secret messages and clues that Sydney and Mike follow, however, it wasn't for me, I was bored and I kept losing interest. There are hot moments, funny moments which I loved but the whole Nancy Drew or Agatha Christy thing it had going on isn't my kind of thing. Three days it took me to read it and I'm the sort of reader who gobbles a book up in one sitting normally. Not for me but it doesn't mean it's not for you.
