It took a little bit of mind jogging to remember where this book left off and more importantly the dynamic of Damien and Amira's relationship but if you are jumping from book one and diving straight into this book then there is no issue. A big chunk of this book was Damien with his new life in the U.S going from year to year and his climb of success to being governor. I hated when he was with other women and I was pleading for Amira's appearance but when she did finally make an appearance in the plot oh what an appearance and grand entrance she made. I can't tell you It was a passionate reunion because it wasn't, Damien had left her after the first night he made love to her all those years ago and left her not knowing ehere he went and now 12 years later they were face to face. A tangled web of lies, deceit, revealed truths and heartache brought on a whirlwind of emotions over and over again. I loved this story at times and at times hated it. My emotions were played with, I cried, I tensed up and sagged with relief, I was on a journey and honestly couldn't tell you at some pivital points were the heck the destination was going to be. I started this book with reservations and uncertainty and finished an emotional wreck but wouldn't of had it any other way Brilliantly written by M Robinson who just gets better and better. with every book and I have loved all the books before Amira and Damien's story. Told in first persons dual pov and leads to a hea. Looking forward to the next book, to another journey, to another couple.
