![]() Lucca was made the underboss, being what nightmares are made of. Chloe was scarred by her past, learning too young that nightmares are real. He has waited long enough to claim her soul, but he must take it from the devil first. Her soul might have been better off claimed by the devil. The only way to save her from her past is to delve into his. The world as she knows it will come crashing down. I’m the fu**ing boogieman. I’m just a fu**ing freak. ![]() Finally!!! I have been looking forward to Chloe's story so much. From book one Chloe is the girl who's afraid of her own shadow, afraid to be touched, bullied throughout school because of her scars and timidity. Chloe used to hang with the popular girls but something happened to give her nightmares, and flashbacks of a guy in her dreams she calls the devil and from books 1-3 you get glimpses of what could of happened but never getting the full story. Lucca is the Mafia underboss, he's scary, hard, a man to be feared and he's been infatuated with Chloe, scars and all from the first day he saw her. Lucca kidnapps Chloe keeping her at his mansion, his intension are for good to help her escape her demons but it takes Chloe a long time to trust him. Elle and her friends all think she's gone off to college. I've liked this series it's exciting, the younger generation in the Mafia family, Lucca though is slightly older, he is my favourite character so far, mysterious, alpha and a deepness to him only Chloe see's. Chloe can be annoying her words childlike and the boogyman word annoyed me but as a whole I've loved these books. Series must be read in order, told in dual first persons pov. Looking forward to Maria's story she's a ball buster mafia princess, can't wait, I love women with backbone and shes got it. Listened on audio, narration was brilliant.
