![]() Max Horton They call me an outcast like it's a bad thing. An asshole byproduct of a shitty upbringing. I don't care about anything except myself and my little sister. I will always protect what’s mine. With one year left on my hockey contract I'm keeping my head down and my eyes on the goal. A collision, with her, changes my entire existence. Allison Grant Never fall in love with a sports star. That's what my stepfather always said. He told me athletes are complicated and moody—that the higher their paycheck, the lower their morals. As public relations for the New York Stingers I know exactly what he means, but I can’t seem to say no to a friendship with one beautiful, damaged man. What started out as hate turned into something else. We tried to stay away, to keep our distance, but the pull was too strong. Something forbidden turned into something so irresistible. ![]() Another brilliant addition to this series. I couldn't wait for Allison's story, I didn't expect any love interest she would have would be smooth sailing, what with a over protective father like Cooper and overprotective brother like Matthew but when the love interest is your brothers nemesis, its definitely complicated. Something so irresistible is an enemies to lovers romance. Alison starts work for the team doing PR, she is very close to her brother who is one of the players on the hockey team so of course she is aware of the trouble Max got her brother into and if you have read the previous book you will know what I mean. Alison hates Max, has to work with him but is so strongly attracted to him too. It's a story of push and pull until finally they both give into their attraction for each other but then they have to keep their relationship a secret unless they want all hell to break loose. Max is such a swoon-worthy hero and definitely not the bad buy he was painted to be in the previous book. I loved it, I listened on audio and enjoyed the narration. What I have noticed about Natasha's writing though is she repeats scenes so at the end of one scene it will be repeated in the next chapter from the other persons point of view, which is a little annoying, different, but annoying. This series is interlinked but each book can be read as a standalone. I will definitely be reading more books in this series, its a good hockey series that focuses more on the relationship than the sport itself and each book always finishes with a hea.
