The best way to keep your word is never to give it.
Not long ago, in a chapel in Vegas, I swore to love Karissa for the rest of my days. But nobody's promised an infinite number of tomorrows. Nobody's promised forever. Sometimes, all we have left is today.
Seize the day.
It should've been over, we should've been happy, but people are making it hard for me to live in peace. I've got so much blood on my hands they'll never be clean, and somebody out there seems to want me to pay for it. Happily Ever After always comes at a cost, one any real man would be willing to pay. But that doesn't mean I'm just going to roll over and accept these consequences.
Because when it comes to the woman I love? The life I've fought for?
Nobody is safe.
Wow! what a trilogy.
NOT A STANDALONE
Monster in his eyes, Torture to her soul then Target on our backs.
I must admit finishing book two I thought to myself, I could happily leave it there because Karissa and Naz pretty much had a happy ending but as the title suggests would it of been a happily ever after with a target on their backs?.
You don't just walk away from the mob, you run and one day you will be found and Karissa had already experienced that in her life with her mother, always on the run.
It's a scenario that I can only explain it like someone hunting deer then all of a sudden the deer turns to Bambi and you just can't do it, yes even Naz with his cold heart fell for his target.
Now married, Naz is trying to be a better man, give Karissa a better life and this is like a really long epilogue to that final peace and happiness.
There's drama and suspense, twists and turns in a nut shell its so bloody good. I am getting addicted to JM Darhower.
I read Manace first which is Lorenzo's story but let me tell you now if I had read this book first before Menace because Scar/ Lorenzo had a big part in this story I would have been chomping at the bit to get a hold of that next, * fans self down.
If you love a mafia romance with intriguing characters, a brilliantly written plot that contains plenty ups and downs, danger and drama, I highly recommend this trilogy and then go onto Menace.
I can't wait to read more by JM Darhower who is a new author to me, I mean what the heck have I been doing to miss this brilliance?
Told in first person dual pov, leads to a hea and is so addictive.
