![]() From bestselling author Leddy Harper comes a sizzling romance about an aspiring young chef who may discover that the perfect recipe for love involves all accidental ingredients… Tatum Alexander is so close to realizing her dream of becoming a sous chef she can taste it, but working at her ex-fiancé’s restaurant with his new girlfriend was never in her career plan. To save face and prove she’s moved on, Tatum cooks up a lie that she’s in a relationship with her best friend’s superhot cousin. There’s just one problem: Jason only recently moved to town, and he has no idea they’re already “dating.” Jason’s a recovering ladies’ man who shouldn’t be on the menu, but that doesn’t mean he’s immune to Tatum’s quirky charm. Giving her lie a kernel of truth, they decide some no-strings-attached fun between the sheets can’t hurt. But as Tatum’s forced to keep making up stories to cover her original fib, she has a hard time separating what’s real and what’s fake—including her feelings for Jason. With too many tales spun, Tatum can only watch in horror as her collection of yarns begins to unravel, leaving everyone she cares about feeling betrayed. After so many lies, will it be too late to set the record straight? And more importantly, will she be able to convince Jason there’s truth in their love? I loved The half Truth, great book to unwind with. No heavy angst or drama it was just the right kind of book to curl up with and enjoy the characters journey. What I really love in a book are characters that I can relate to, read and feel like I'm taking part of their journey, laugh with them or at them, swoon at the romance, enjoy the story and finish with a happy sigh. I definitely got all of that with this book. I loved Tatum, she's goofy, funny, she's the type of woman who lifts her chin high sets out do do something brave and then basically it all goes tits up, she's a woman who isn't afraid to laugh at herself. Jason has been away for a few years working in Vegas and following his stepfathers death wants to be with his family and return to his home town. Jason is also in a relationship or was until his girlfriend doesn't want to leave Vegas where she is a showgirl, not much call for that in a little town I suppose. Anyway Jason moves back home fresh from a break up. Both Tatum and Jason are in the same circles, Tatum is the best friend of Jason's cousin Kelsey and already a part of the family. With a past reputation of being a playboy Tatum and Jason have been given orders by Kelsey to say away from each other. Tatum is also getting over a break up. I loved this slow burn romance, it was hot, funny, I loved the embarrassing moments and I also loved every one of the characters from Jason's mother to Kelsey, it had a great family feel to it, with lots of laugh out loud moments. This is my first Leddy Harper book and definitely won't be my last, I loved the flow of the plot. The half truth contained everything I love in a romance read. I am looking forward to reading more from Leddy Harper, I have some catching up to do and I am so spoilt for choice but hoping to dive into another of her books asap. Told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea. Arc received from netgalley
