HE’S A HOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR. SHE’S LITERALLY THE GIRL NEXT DOOR.
One of Hollywood’s A-listers, I have the movie industry in the palm of my hand. But if I’m going to stay at the top, my playboy image needs an overhaul. No more tabloid headlines. No more parties. And absolutely no more one night stands.
Filming for my latest blockbuster takes place on the coast of Maine and I’m determined to stay out of trouble. But trouble finds me when I run into Lana Kelly.
She doesn’t recognize me, she’s never heard of Matt Easton and my million dollar smile doesn’t work on her.
Ego shredded, I know I should keep my distance, but when I realize she’s my neighbor I know I’m toast. There’s no way I can resist temptation when it’s ten yards away.
She has a mouth designed for pleasure and legs that will wrap perfectly around my waist.
She’s movie star beautiful and her body is made to be mine.
Getting Lana Kelly into my bed is harder than I’m used to. She’s not interested in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, but I’m determined to convince her the best place in the world is on the red carpet, holding my hand.
I could have any woman in the world, but all I want is the girl next door.
A sexy, standalone romance.
"The man a million women wanted only wanted me"
Two people from two different world's.
Matt Easton was an ambitious actor with a following of fans and paparazzi, life was constantly in the spotlight.
Lana Kelly was a home bird, a jewelry designer with a small shop in town, she hated attention and even though her designs could be placed in the best stores anywhere she was content and happy with her little shop and enough to get by just to pay the rent.
On a rainy night their world's collided, then Lana discovered Matt was renting the beach house next door to her and there was no escaping him.
Matt was in Lana's quieter beach town while on location in the nearby city.
Lana & Matt grew close before she even knew he was famous and taking it further could Lana handle the limelight?.
Hollywood Scandal doesn't have a story-line I haven't read before because I have more than once, famous actor comes into town falls for the girl next door kind of plot, heck, I've even watched Nottinghill with a similar story-line were there's drama, decisions to be made, relationships tested but Louise Bay has a way of making you feel like this is fresh and new with her writing style and not forgetting the added hotness.
I loved the characters, Matt is a down to earth guy behind his pearly white smile, I liked his character and Lana; not a strong heroine at times, she lacked confidence but hey if she had confidence there would of been less story.
The main focus was how Lana would adapt, who would make changes could they make it work once they go public.
I enjoyed Hollywood Scandal and the end made me swoon and gave me those mushy feelings as it lead to a hea.
Hollywood Scandal has no heavy drama, hot moments in all the right places, leads to hea and is told in dual first persons pov.
Another sizzling red carpet read by Louise Bay.

Box set review
Remington St Germain, sought after bachelor, father & single dad, known artist & painter, hotel owner & French. oh la la
Selene; a plus size model, broken from a failed marriage. Visiting France for modelling work she's trying to get her life back after a year of counselling.
Insta love/lust Remington pursues Selene from the first moment he see's her, she also has an uncanny resemblance to Remington's deceased wife which he omits to..
The chemistry with Selene and Remington is off the charts and the scenes erotic.
Havoc is the first book In a trilogy Box set and touches the surface letting you get to know the characters but there's deeper things to come. Death threats, a mystery letter, Selene's likeness to Remington deceased wife and how did she die??
I was so looking forward to how the other books would play out and I wasn't disappointed.
In Book 2 Remington and Selene are falling hard and fast, Remington's son looks at Selene like his mother, things are getting intense, the chemistry is still hot and off the charts.
The jealous threats continue, Remington's team is still drawing a blank to the mysterious letters and threats.
Security is high but someone knows how to get through the cracks.
Obliterate BOOK 2 was a gripping, hot and intense read but as I went onto book 3 Mend it was explosive.
Everything was happening, attempted murder, twists and turns, parts of the plot seemed to unbelievable with the events and drama but this is fiction so I went with it.
From start to finish Havoc trilogy was intense, erotic, gripping and exciting.
Told in first person, dual pov.

If you love angst, danger, dark humour, action galore, a couple who find love in a world of chaos, look no further.
PREVIOUS BOOKS TO BE READ FIRST.
The Wrong series is absolutely brilliant and I never would of thought when I first started wrong I would of been taken on such an emotional, angsty and exciting journey.
I've laughed, teared up, swooned, been anxious, cringed, gasped, I have basically been taken on a roller coaster of emotions through these books.
Jude, what can I say, he's the king of bad boys, I absolutely love him. I can't get enough of Jude Pearson, he makes by heart thud.
Tor, her strength is formidable, her sass is menacing, I loved Tor.
Together they are like Mr & Mrs Smith only badder, better, stronger in a world of destruction.
Marney, I lost count of the amount of times he made me chuckle and Gabe the badass Cartel drug lord and Jude's friend, I am so looking forward to a book with his story.
The fence thing, I pmsl every-time it was mentioned even when shit hits the fan these two authors can't help but add a touch of humor in the least expected places.
I loved this hard, these two authors are unparalleled and just get better and better, they take you on an unpredictable journey one I never want to end. I finish their books feeling like I've been thrust in a wind tunnel, my mind blown all over the place and come out the other side straightening myself out and composing myself.
Another brilliant book, an amazing journey that's gripping, intense, hair-raising, rousing, all the praise goes out to LP Lovell & Stevie J Cole, you ladies are gold.

A sexy category romance novella from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…
Sometimes it’s good to be bad…
When it comes to sex, good girl Skyler Thompson always plays it safe, choosing stable and sedate over wild and thrilling. She doesn’t do one-night-stands, but one look at sinfully sexy Gage Holt and she’s willing to reconsider. He makes her want to be bad for once in her life, and she’s prepared to take what she wants.
Danger follows former MMA fighter Gage Holt like a shadow. Despite his successes as part owner of Sin, an exclusive nightclub in Boston, Gage can’t risk getting involved with a woman, especially one as sweet as Skyler. Still, he can’t resist a taste—and it’s so damn good he has to see her again.
As addicted as he is to her, Gage knows there’s no future for him and Skyler—not with his past lurking in the dark corners of an MMA cage. But Skylar’s tougher than she looks, and she’s ready to fight for her man.
Aw, I loved Gage and Skylar, once I started one night of sin I couldn't put it down.
Gage is an ex MMA fighter or trying to be an ex fighter but he's being put into a corner by a local thug businessman who wants Gage to fight in exchange for his brothers debts. Gage runs Sin a nightclub with his two best friends.
He's moody, a man of few words and hot as hell !!
Skylar comes across at first as sassy, bold, confident and she is all those things but years of studying and working hard has made her decide to start living again and on her first night of the new outgoing Skylar she goes to Sin and meets Gage. Skylar is a good girl wanting to be bad for once.
It's definitely lust at first sight for both of them and it's Skylar that initiates the chase she's after a one night stand for the first time ever and is determined to get one with Gage.
A one night that turns into more, Skylar and Gage are so right for each other and Skylar won't take no for an answer with this commitment phobe broody fighter who's barriers eventually begin to fall.
One night of sin is hot, has great characters and an interesting plot a back story for both characters that draws you in to love them even more.
I loved it, wanted more and can't wait to read more from this author in this After hours series.
Told in third person with enough dialogue to make you feel like your reading first person so the fact it was third person didn’t bother my first person preference one bit, in fact I didn’t notice like I would with some books were you feel like your being told a story.
My second Ellle Kennedy read and definitely going to and looking forward to read more.

Wild Card is a standalone novel and the first book in the North Ridge Trilogy about rough and rugged Canadian mountain men, the Nelson brothers. Canada’s never felt so hot.
She swore she’d never go back home.
She swore she’d never see the man who broke her all those years ago.
But you don’t always get to choose your path.
And sometimes that path is as wild and rugged as the heart.
Rachel Waters thought she saw the last of the small mountain town of North Ridge, British Columbia, when she left six years ago. But while her advertising career blossomed beneath the skyscrapers of Toronto, her mother’s sudden illness has the 26-year old returning to North Ridge to care for her, putting her career on hold while dealing with family secrets, regrets and unresolved goodbyes.
Shane Nelson has always been a bit of a wild card. The youngest of his brothers, Shane’s spent most of his life being underestimated and misunderstood. With his quiet intensity, classic good looks and thoughtful demeanor, he’s an enigma on horseback, managing his father’s sprawling ranch on the slopes of North Ridge.
But while Shane remains the quintessential brooding cowboy, complete with an arsenal of inner demons, all of that changes when Rachel steps back into his life.
She was the girl he pushed away.
Now she’s the girl who wishes she could leave.
Despite the odds, Shane will do everything to convince Rachel he needs a second chance that he doesn’t deserve but when the two of them head off into the wilderness together in search of lost cattle, more than just their hearts are at stake.
Whether it's love or lives on the line, one thing is for sure: always bet on the wild card.
Wow! I loved Shane and Rachel, I loved this book and even more it's the beginning of a series & Shane has two hot brothers....... fans self 😉
A childhood to adulthood love story with second chances, regrets, lies and truths revealed, tragedies and angst along the way.
A beautiful and at times heartbreaking plot.
Rachel and Shane were inseparable, in love, they were each others firsts and promises of forever until something happened, Shane was cruel but hiding kindness and Rachel left for the city like he wanted her to.
6 Years later with news of her sick mother Rachel returns home.
Nothings changed in the farming town but what she didn't expect was discovering her mother was staying with Shane's father and their family on the ranch so there's no hiding from Shane now and he's the one person she didn't want to face.
Shane is a hot cowboy, he's sweet, charming a godamm panty melter is what he is, who has only ever had eyes for one girl. Shane is so selfless and swoon worthy, I loved Shane's character he's going on my honorary BBF shelf.
"He stares at my body for just a moment but in that moment he sets me on fire and everything is urgent now, so urgent, and I'm burning for him."
Rachel endured years of abuse from her father and only the love of Shane got her through her years at home, she left but yet the memory's followed and the whole in her heart from Shane was never filled.
Rachel needs closure and answers.
This story is heartwarming, has its hot moments, its angst, it's sad moments, it's captivating, I couldn't put it down I was so eager to see how everything would play out and I wasn't disappointed one bit. A brilliantly balanced romance that contains everything I love.
Contains no cheating or heavy drama, told in dual first persons pov and leads to a swoon worthy hea. So recommended for a lazy says reading, shut yourself away.
"I'm Rachel, he's Shane and we go together, fit together, because we always have."

Here comes the bride?
I might be a Prince, but I’m not the Royal Wedding type.
Not until some grad student finds a centuries-old Treaty.
Now I’ve got two weeks to find a virgin wife!
The clock is ticking. I’m about to lose my fortune, my titles, my kingdom, my everything.
And I don’t even care.
There’s only one thing on my mind: Amanda Sparks.
Sweet, innocent, pure.
And the girl I’m about to make my wife.
She just doesn’t know it yet.
Her father’s business is about to go bankrupt, but I can save it.
$25 million dollars, tax free.
All I ask for is a year.
And a night to be her first…
His Sword is a standalone romance with extra steamy bonus content included! Holly Hart always gives you a Happy Ever After, she hates cheating with a passion, and cliffhangers just as much as you do!
A modern day fairytale.
I loved this story, a feel good read with no heavy drama or angst.
Amanda is born & raised as a cattle farmers daughter in Montana but she's always had an interest in monarchy and goes away to study which eventually lands her in a job at the palace for Prince Dante and to plan his coming of age 30th birthday.
A sword passed down generations is discovered to hold inside the handle a decree that Dante didn't know about which is the heir is to wed a virgin by his 30th birthday or the heir loses the throne in a nutshell Dante has two weeks to find a virgin a tall feat in itself
You guessed it, good, study hard girl Amanda with an overprotective father is said virgin.
His sword was predictable without cheesyness, I loved the characters and extended characters, Amanda's dad and his cowboy straight talking no bs ways even in a palace and what you would call prim and proper surroundings had me chuckling a few times.
A few hot moments I loved Dante and Amanda's chemistry, a jelous plotting family member and a love at first sight story, so more than enough content to keep you turning the pages.
An enjoyable read, told in dual pov's and leads to hea.

Wow! What a powerful and moving story.
True love finds it's counterpart, it always recognises it. It's all in the Muscle memory.
Jay & Delaney were in love, inseparable, they were homeless but happy, they had bad days but were happy, why? because they had each other, until they didn't .
Jon Doe woke up in a hospital room, he didn't have a name so they gave him one, didn't have a home so his social worker helped him to get into a half way house, he didn't have a social security number so he volunteered to pay his way.
Jon Doe who decided to call himself Jon Doherty was a nobody with no memory of who or what he was before.
Jon accepted that he had to build a new life and started to build one, even build new relationships.
Delaney never stopped looking but she was looking for Jayson Fairbanks who had simply vanished after a night of getting high and falling on a train track, Delaney broke her ankle that night and John was whisked away and she didn't see him again.
A moving and heartfelt story, Jon didn't get flashbacks or glimpses of his memory like he hoped he would but when he did meet Delaney who was a waitress, for the first time his world stood still, he knew her but didn't know how.
"She's my ghost, she haunts me. I don't remember her but I know her"
Delaney's strength and love for Jay was heartfelt, he was now with someone else, he was starting a new life but as long as he was happy so was she. My heart ached for her, she was selfless.
"He's not dead. I get to walk around in a world with him in it and breathe the same air as he does and that's good enough for me".
If you could read about the depth of love, the effects and how deep into the soul real love goes, where it's the air you breath and the source that pumps the blood in our veins then muscle memory tells of such a love.
Jon/Jay's mind may have forgot but his being, the depths of his soul couldn't forget, He was the second half to her whole.
IN LOVE WE TRUST
Beautifully, written with beautiful characters. Told in third person and leads to hea.

“I can’t believe I used to be this guy,” Jon mumbled, gently touching the computer screen.
It was a photo of him and her, outside of some nightclub. Delaney looked great in a cute outfit, with her hair up in a bun on top of her head. The guy with her, though, looked completely untrustworthy. He wore a long olive green jacket with a black knit sweater underneath, some jeans with holes in them, and a large pair of boots. He’d just gotten his hair dreaded, and he stared dead eyed into the camera, not even a hint of a smile.
I don’t even look like him anymore.
They weren’t all like that, though. There were lots of him and her smiling together. Laughing. At parties, at stores, at restaurants. Everywhere. Together, all the time.
He was almost through all the pictures when he realized he hadn’t seen any with them kissing. Lots with their arms around each other, but nothing truly intimate. That just couldn’t be possible, every couple had at least one photo of themselves kissing.
After a little bit of digging, he found a subfolder labeled “Private” – jackpot. He shifted to the center of the sofa and balanced the laptop on his knees, then opened the subfolder and clicked on the first picture.
They were standing next to the entrance to a subway stop. He had Delaney’s face in his hands and he was kissing her. Even through the pixels, he could feel the passion. Her mouth was parted, her bottom lipped trapped between his. It sent a shiver down his back and caused his stomach to sink, but he kept looking.
There were so many. Most of the selfie variety, but there were a bunch obviously taken by friends and then sent to him. Him and Delaney, kissing in restaurants, bars, taxiis, trains. Everywhere. Anywhere. Holding each other, touching each other. There was one of her straddling his lap while they were in a booth at some bar. She was standing on her knees and he had his hands up the back of her shirt, and they were staring at each other so intensely, it took his breath away a little.
How could I possibly forget something like that?
But if he thought that was intense, the next batch were even more so. Taken in a dark room, the flash had lit them up like beacons and drowned the edges of the pictures in blackness. It almost felt like he was looking at photographs of dreams.
They were in a bed, flat on the floor, if he wasn’t mistaken. All at awkward angles, yet still beautiful in odd ways. He’d been the one taking the pictures – Delaney’s mouth was in the top of one shot, her bright red bottom lip trapped between her teeth. Her arms were raised, disappearing out of the frame. She’d been wearing some sort of tight gold knit sweater, no bra, and a pair of black underwear. She was again straddling his lap, and his free hand was under her shirt, cupping her breast.
He stared down at his right hand, at his palm. Could feel it tingle. Could swear he remembered the softness of her skin.
In the next shot she was bending over and his hand was on her ass, and the next she had switched positions entirely. She was between his legs, her back against his chest. His arm was snaking down the front of her body, his hand inside those black panties. The tingling sensation on his palm grew.
His favorite picture, though, was surprisingly tame in comparison.
They were in a men’s bathroom somewhere – it was very clear they’d had no shame whenever they’d been together. Delaney was holding up her phone, taking a picture of their reflection in a full length mirror.
She was against a wall, arching her body away from it and pressing herself to him. He was leaning over her, such a tall imposing presence compared to her tiny one. He had a hand in the hair at the base of her skull, and he was pulling. Quite hard by the looks of it. His other hand was on her hip, holding her pelvis flush with his. Her mouth was open in a gasp and he had her bottom lip trapped between his teeth, pulling it slightly away from her.
No nudity. No sex. Yet still. It was like that picture held in it everything he’d been missing for the past five months. Everything he’d forgotten. Sensuality, aggression, pleasure, passion, dirty, raw, naughty, nasty, love.
I loved this woman.
Jon’s pulse was pounding in his ears. The pictures weren’t bringing anything back, not in any literal sense. He didn’t know where that shot had been taken, couldn’t remember where that bathroom was, and had no idea why they’d been in there.
But something was happening.
Lacey Talbot had a safe and loving childhood despite being raised in a residential home for kids, and the day she met Charlotte and Oli Hart, it felt like she had been truly blessed. Now training to be qualified in social care, she’s giving back to the system that saved her from a life of danger and poverty.
So why does she feel like she needs more when she has everything she never thought possible? A career, family love and friends who would be there for her no matter what, just don’t seem enough.
Lacey wants a love to call her own, to start living her life for real but there is one thing missing, someone to love - a guy who will return the love that she deserves just as hard.
Tommy Sevens, is the dependable local business owner. He’s never short of female company but his bachelor life is turned upside down by an unexpected visitor. When he reaches out for help, he ends up with more than he bargained for when Lacey comes to the rescue.
What starts out as a professional relationship, turns into so much more when Tommy realizes he can’t resist Lacey anymore. She’s a beautiful, unforeseen surprise who makes him want a different life, despite what he thinks he deserves, and he’s that guy that Lacey has been yearning for. The one thing that stands in the way of their happily ever after are his close friends, Lacey’s foster parents.
Deserved is the second book in the soul mates series and tells the stories of those who find passion and love when they least expect it.
Another great read by Victoria Johns
A battle of wills, a battle against the age gap.
"You don't want to start this war with me."
"You think you can take me?"
I am a woman! Hear me ROAR."
I liked Deserved, the story wasn't without its angst or drama. A 12 year old girl gets dumped on the doorstep of a father she has never met, an ex who's involved in motorbike gangs and on the run, There's Tommy who brings hotness to the plot and shows he has a dominant side, to which there wasn't enough of and fan me down Jake the best friend who's a bit of a man whore and a sweetie who I definitely want more of. There's plenty in deserved to keep you turning the pages.
34 year old Tommy although not always a likeable character in this story is the owner of a cab firm and has recently found out he has a 12 year old daughter Carly. In need of help Tommy calls Lottie who runs a children's home but gets Lacey on the phone instead who agrees to go over and help him out.
24 year old Lacey has been in care knows all to well what children in care go through and has studied hard to be in a position to help those that were once like her. Lacey helps and now works with her foster parents Oli and Lottie in the children's home.
Lacey and Carly hit it off straight away and Lacey becomes a big part of her new life with her new found dad and a blessing to Tommy who is finding his feet as a parent.
Feelings begin to develop between Lacey and Tommy but With a 10 year age gap between them Tommy refuses to let love take it's course, after doing the deed puts a stop to it going any further.
Deserved is a heartwarming story, one that will have you pulling your hair out for the characters one minute and smiling for them the next, I love it when a book has you rooting for the characters to get what they deserve for once and that in this story is each other.
Told in dual pov's and leads to hea.

His name is Beat, and I should hate him.
Bound, blindfolded and bruised, I'm tied in his basement, waiting for the men who stripped me from clothes and humanity to collect his debt to them. Me.
His name is Nate and I should hate him, but I don't.
I'm not supposed to know his real name, even worse, I'm not supposed to care. He is nothing to me but means to an end. The plan is simple: break free, collect the pieces of my broken soul, kill the bastards and run away.
His name is Nathaniel Thomas Vela, and I've never seen his face, though I hear that it's beautiful.
Behind the rugged and handsome exterior, there's a quiet murderer, a killer who thinks guns are for pussies and ends people with his bare hands.
His name doesn't matter, neither does his face, but what does matter is my heart. And right now, sadly, it's his.
Blood to Dust is a standalone, full-length novel. It contains graphic violence and adult situations some may find offensive.
Another LJ Shen book I loved this authors books to me are like chocolate when on a diet, I crave them.
Edgy, gritty, contains violence, Blood to Dust is dark, erotic and full of suspense.
Prescott; A good girl from the posh side of the tracks who found her prince who evidentally turned out not so charming. Taken, beaten, contained, tied up, time is ticking until Camden her villain of an ex who is obsessed with her returns to take back what is his with a threat to kill her for running and crossing him.
Beat or Nate, ex con, served time with Godfrey Camden's father, hired to watch over Prescott until Camden returns.
Beat wasn't aware his assignment meant keeping a girl chained to a bed for weeks. Beat had wanted more for himself when he left prison, instead he finds himself cleaning for a wealthy and randy woman and at Godfrey's beck & call but his options are limited for an ex con.
Beat first comes across as heartless and as ruthless as Camden, his father and his men but Prescott is clever, she's cunning, shes fearless and after finding Nates diary from his time in prison has an inside view of her captors mind and begins to plot.
Prescott's reasons for escape isn't just freedom, it's revenge, revenge for what she lost, revenge for every beating, revenge for every rape she endured and to find her brother.
Nates walls begin to fall as time passes, alliances are made and the need for revenge agreed.
Blood to dust is more than a captor and captee story, I found Prescott and Nate's story moving at times although unconventional, the words poetic and the plot exciting.
love can develop in the most unusual surroundings and this bond ignited the perfect fuel for the revenge craved and birthed hope of new beginnings in their world of chaos.
I loved the characters, the plot had danger, hotness, darkness and humour, it was captivating and exciting like all this authors books.
Contains scenes of rape, violence and is by no means a hearts and flowers story, this is LJ Shen after all.
Told in dual pov, leads to a hea and is a standalone (not part of a series).
A perfect BBF bad boy read.
I listened on audio with male narrator which was good.

This is one of those books that has the logic and common sense within my mind battling with all that unfolds on the pages as the story progresses.
Pure curiosity drove me to the end.
Would I recommend it? if I knew the readers tastes & I thought they fit then yes.
Did I enjoy it? not really.
A young woman, an owner of an art gallery, on the brink of bankruptcy is approached after closing by a stranger with a proposition, to become his whore, be at his bidding, be ready when he called, in payment she would receive paintings that would save her gallery.
She agrees, just like that, yes I will whore myself out to save the gallery, and from there is where my judgemental thoughts kicked in, I couldn't prevent it. Red flags kept going up to much for me to enjoy it.
It was weird but at the end made sense. At times it felt like a historic romance, the speech, the references but it wasn't.
I love an erotic story this was different to my usual reads though, The Red was certainly erotic and more.
It's a tough one to review and one each reader will react to differently. You will either love it, hate it or be dumbfounded by it.
Told in Mona's pov, third person. leads to a somewhat hea.
Toying with Her, an all-new standalone from Prescott Lane is now Live!!!
No one said finding love was easy, but when you invented the world’s best selling vibrator, it’s near impossible. Yep, that’s right. That little toy hidden in your bedside table is my brain child. It’s aptly named Woman on Top. And you know what they say . . . it’s lonely at the top.
So I’m headed home to my Southern roots. It’s supposed to be an extended Summer vacation — nothing more. But Rorke Weston has other plans for me. Plans that not only involve me being on top, but also underneath him.
It’s been said you never forget your first. For me, that’s definitely true. No night has ever lived up to the one I spent with Rorke.
He’s turned into quite a man. Tan from the Southern sun, and stubborn as the day is long. And there’s nothing sweeter than the swipe of his tongue.
Rorke wants his chance. The one we never had. But that was a long time ago. When I still believed in Prince Charming and Happily Ever Afters. Even ten years later, I feel a pull. And it’s not simply Rorke yanking down my panties.
Do second chances really happen? Or is my heart simply toying with me?

"That's the thing about women. When they push you away, it means you need to love them harder"
Sound advice from Rorke's dad.
I loved this book, not only did it have a character that created a sex toy and made millions (go Sterling) it had southern charm and Witt, I loved the plot and I loved the characters harder.
Sterling and Rourke had been friends forever, their parents are best friends, they all lived in a farming town were everyone knew everyone's business, before you reached your destination it was town gossip where you were heading, what you were doing and who with, it was that kind of town.
Right at the beginning of Toying with her you are thrown into Sterling story, how she left her town after college, one thing lead to another and she became the inventor of a new sex toy that took over the market and made her millions. Boyfriends are either with her for money or they are insecure. Sterling is lonely, unhappy and needs the love of her parents. Living in New York, Sterling is still a country girl at heart and decides to return home for the summer.
Sterling has quite a few surprises on her return, she discovers because of her occupation which is very much frowned upon in her judgemental town, that things have changed around her parent's, who were once well respected and a part of the community, things started to change and there's one vindictive gossip normally at the source of it.
What hasn't changed is her childhood best friend Rorke's ability to make sure he is in Sterling's life through the good and the bad. Rorke was her first, he was also the last man to truly bring her pleasure on a night they won't forget before she left town.
Rorke has loved Sterling since he was five years old, only his brother truly knew his feelings for Sterling and on her return to town Rourke who is now a school teacher isn't letting the woman he still loves get away again, sex toy inventor or not nothing will stop him from getting his woman.
Sterling's return is nothing short of scandalous in the eyes of some town folk she's the devil for inventing such a thing as a sex toy in some eyes.
Toying with her is a story you can get lost in. I was moved, I laughed, I loved the hot moments, the sad and happy moments. Rorke had me swooning with his determination, stubbornness and abundant love for Sterling.
Toying with her really does contain everything I love in a romance read.
Sterling is ballsy, witty, fun and adorable. Rorke is charming, hot, funny, bossy and stubbornly in love.
Prescott Lane had me captivated with another plot and had me falling in love with characters that I absolutely adored.
No angst or heavy drama, cheating or anything cringe-worthy, this is good old fashioned romance with hotness thrown in and brilliant captivating writing.
Looking forward to the next book.
The scars of you By Rachael Tonks
Release August 31st
Braxton has spent six years running from his past and the memories that haunt him. The loss of the girl who owns his heart and his best friend unleashed the dark in him. Part of a world of crime and murder, Brax knows he’s reached a breaking point and something’s got to give. He has to find her.
The girl he's loved since she saved him that fateful day when they were nothing more than just kids.
The day she went away was the day he lost his heart. That was the day he became everyone's worst nightmare.
He became a monster.
He is hated, feared, and has nothing left to live for.
Isabelle has lived the last six years of her life without hope and in total isolation. Now she finds herself in the clutches of evil with no way out.
All she dreams of is to be reunited with the one boy who showed her what it means to truly be loved. Without him, she’s surrendered herself to an existence she doesn’t know how to escape.
In a moment that will change both of their lives forever, Brax comes face to face with the girl who, for six years, captured his heart. He is unable to ignore the buried desires and the hope for the future they dreamed they’d have.
Can he save the girl he once lost, or will the fight cost him more than he could ever imagine?
Wow! Once I started The Scars of you, I couldn't put it down!.
You know when you read a book, you get to scenes and your heart starts to thud? well mine did this over and over with this book, Rachael Tonks you owe me lager, lots and lots of lager lol
I'm a sucker for a childhood to adult love story but this was so much more. The Scars of you is dark, gripping and intense.
For Six years Braxton (Brax) has been searching for his childhood best friend and love of his life Izzy (Isabelle) who just disappeared, Brax never gave up looking for her and in the process also lost his childhood best friend Travis.
Brax was taken in by Carter Manello, a drug lord, a criminal, a man who saved Brax on a day he lost everything and started to work for him.
Life went on in a way Brax had never imagined but Brax's heart didn't, so many times whenever he was with a woman and having just read Izzy's pov while she is being held in captivity by an evil and savage man my head was screaming nooooo Brax don't do it she's still alive. The scars of you had me flipping pages to get to the good bits like a woman possessed I could't devour it fast enough.
I loved it, I hated it, my emotions were everywhere with so many twists and turns in the plot and so much to come with still some unanswered questions.
The fact its a huge cliffhanger had me frustrated but being a duet I expected it and I am so looking forward to the next book.
Dark, delectable, raw, addictive filled with suspense, gripping and hot scenes, it was everything I love in my reads. Told in first person dual pov's.

Wall Street meets the Sons of Anarchy in the smoldering, scorching first novel in the explosively sexy new Dirty Money series from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones.
How bad do you want it?
The only man within the Brandon empire with a moral compass, Shane Brandon is ready to take his family's business dealings legitimate. His reckless and ruthless brother, Derek wants to keep Brandon Enterprises cemented in lies, deceit, and corruption. But the harder Shane fights to pull the company back into the light, the darker he has to become. Then he meets Emily Stevens, a woman who not only stirs a voracious sexual need in him, but becomes the only thing anchoring him between good and evil.
Emily is consumed by Shane, pushed sexually in ways she never dreamed of, falling deeper into the all-encompassing passion that is this man. She trusts him. He trusts her, but therein lies the danger. Emily has a secret, the very thing that brought her to him in the first place, and that secret that could that destroy them both.
We just lay there, in darkness, together and therefore we are not alone.
Hard rules is a plot filled with mystery and manipulative characters.
ABOUT THE PLOT
Shane Brandon is a lawyer who now works for his fathers company The Brandon empire. With a dying father and Shane's brother wanting the reins, it seems everyone is the enemy and no one is to be trusted not even his own mother. This is one family that plays dangerous and manipulative games.
Emily is on the look out for a job having applied for a few jobs, starting anew in a new city, there's more to that which isn't revealed and she first meets Shane in a coffee shop and from the moment she meets to ending up in his bed she didn’t know she would end up being his father's secretary when one of her job applications is successful. The one night stand that wasn't to be.
Emily ends up a pawn is this family's ruthless games and someone Shane falls for.
Shane genuinely begins to care for Emily and doesn't want her caught in the crossfire and wants her away from any destruction pending to the family games with links to Cartel and drugs that Shane is trying to get to the truth about with his brothers dealings but Emily is determined to stay.
I still don't know who Emily is but know she too has her secrets.
I didn’t understand the beginning of this book with a character called Teresa? that completely threw me with that scene, maybe Emily is Teresa, honestly I haven't a clue I'm completely frustrated with this book.
I kept waiting for something to happen in the plot, some excitement, anything to keep me turning the pages other than the thoughts of maybe something will happen soon but it didn’t come.
Two brothers in a battle for the company, with Shane keeping a close eye on his brother and trying to dig up the dirt. I got bored, I'm sure in the second book more will come to light but this book didn't entice me into reading it apart from wanting to know more about secretive Emily.
Told in dual pov, more mystery and suspense than romance, ends on a cliffhanger that will either have you wanting book 2 or it won't.

BOOK TWO DAMAGE CONTROL
Wall Street meets the Sons of Anarchy in Damage Control, the smoldering, scorching next novel in the explosively sexy Dirty Money series.
The only thing more dangerous than a dark secret is a damaged heart…
Shane Brandon has been pushed to the brink, torn between his corrupt family and his explosive, all-consuming desire for Emily Stevens, who he now knows is not who, and what, she seems. Has he trusted the wrong person? Will she, not his brother Derek, be the ultimate destruction of his family Empire?
Emily tries to run from Shane, but he will stop her, confront her, force her to reveal all — one hot touch and kiss at a time, under every intimate detail of who this woman is, and what she wants, is exposed. But as he tears away the dangers of the unknowns with the woman in his bed, and in his heart, The Martina Cartel has set their sights on his company, his family, and the one piece of leverage they believe he won’t gamble with: Emily.
Damage Control continues from exactly where Hard Rules Finished with Emily being confronted about who she really is.
It you haven't read Hard Rules that is a must before embarking on Damage Control. http://bit.ly/DirtyMoneyAmazon
Shane and Emily become more united once she reveals her real identity to Shane and her reasons for changing it, Shane falls even more in love with Emily and is determined to protect her and also try and resolve the mess his brother Derek has got the company in with his dealings with the cartel and the pharmaceutical company.
There's suspense and twists and turns in this slow unwinding plot. I finally go to see who the real Emily was, more was revealed about Derek and his dangerous position he has put himself in and his brother, I found the plot more intriguing than the first book it held my interest more and Shane and Emily's intimate moments sizzling hot.
Family drama, secrets, lies, trust, hate and sex its all going on in this seductive series, it's like an episode of Dallas :-)
Ready to move onto book three and see what happens next.
Told in dual pov's with cliffhanger not a dramatic cliffhanger but ends all the same.

The first meeting.... Shane and Emily
Exiting into the grey marbled corridor, I walk toward the huge oval foyer of the building and to the right, where a coffee shop is nestled between a restaurant and a postal facility, both of whom rent from Brandon Enterprises. I head to the register, nearly at the counter when Karen, the owner of the coffee shop, a robust forty-something woman with red hair and a big attitude, appears behind the counter, leaving me no escape from her habitual chitchat.
“Well, well, well,” she says, leaning on the counter. “Now I know what I’m missing on the morning shift and I do declare that seeing Shane Brandon himself, instead of his secretary, is a better “wake-me-up” than any java shot I sell. But then, you Brandon boys came by those looks honestly. That father of yours is a looker.”
And therein lies the reason she irritates the sh*t out of my mother and I happily treat Jessica to afternoon coffee to have her bring me mine. Karen’s not only a chatterbox flirt, she has it bad for my father.
“All right now,” Karen says, grabbing a cup and pen, and preparing to write. “Large latte with a triple shot?”
“Just what the doctor ordered,” I confirm, though I have a feeling once Seth arrives I’ll be wishing for a bottle of whiskey.
“Will do, honey,” she says, giving me a wink before moving toward the espresso machine. “I’ll add it to your tab.”
I retreat to the end of the counter where the orders are delivered, resting my elbow on the ledge, retreating into my mind and chasing problems made worse by the division between Derek and I. He’s thirty-seven, five years my senior, and the rightful successor to our father. I’d happily stepped aside and started my own life, but damn it to hell, I know things now and I can’t walk away.
My order appears and I straighten, intending to claim my coffee and find a seat, when a pretty twenty-something brunette races forward in a puff of sweet, floral scented perfume, and grabs it.
“Miss,” I begin, “that’s-”
She takes a sip and grimaces. “What is this?” She turns to the counter. “Excuse me,” she calls out. “My drink is wrong.”
“Because it’s not your drink,” Karen reprimands her, setting a new cup on the counter. “This is your drink.” She reaches for my cup and turns it around, pointing to the name scribbled on the side. “This one’s for Shane.” She glances at me. “I’ll be right back to fix this. I have another customer.”
I wave my acknowledgement and she hurries away, while my floral scented coffee thief faces me, her porcelain cheeks flushed, her full, really damn distracting mouth, painted pink. “I’m so sorry,” she offers quickly. “I thought I was the only one without my coffee and I was in a hurry.” She starts to hand me my coffee and then quickly sets it on the counter. “You can’t have that. I drank out of it.”
“I saw that,” I say, picking it up. “You grimaced with disgust after trying it.”
Her eyes, a pale blue that matches the short-sleeved silk blouse, go wide. “Oh. I mean no. Or I did, but not because it’s a bad cup of coffee. It’s just very strong.”
“It’s a triple shot latte.”
“A triple,” she says, looking quite serious. “Did you know that in some third world countries they bottle that stuff and sell it as a way to grow hair on your chest.” She lowers her voice and whispers, “That’s not a good look for me.”
“Fortunately,” I say in the midst of a chuckle I would have claimed wasn’t possible five minutes ago, “I don’t share that dilemma.” I lift my cup and add, “Cheers,” before taking a drink, the heavy, rich flavor sliding over my tongue.
She pales, looking exceedingly uncomfortable, before repeating, “I drank from that cup.”
“I know,” I say, offering it back to her. “Try another drink.”
She takes the cup and sets it on the counter. “I can’t drink that. And you can’t either.” She points to the hole on top, now smudged pink. “My lipstick is all over it and I really hate to tell you this but it’s all over you too and…” She laughs, a soft, sexy sound, her hands settling on her slender, but curvy hips, accented by a fitted black skirt. “Sorry. I don’t mean to laugh, but it’s not a good shade for you.”
I laugh now too, officially and impossibly charmed by this woman in spite of being in the middle of what feels like World War III. “Seems you know how to make a lasting impression.”
“Thankfully it’s not lasting,” she says. “It’ll wipe right off. And thank you for being such a good sport. I really am sorry again for all of this.”
“Apologize by getting it off me.”
Confusion puckers her brow. “What?”
“You put it on me.” I grab a napkin from the counter and offer it to her. “You get it off.”
“I put it on the cup,” she says, clearly recovering her quick wit. “You put it on you.”
“I assure you, that had I put it on me, we both would have enjoyed it much more than we are now.” I glance at the napkin. “Are you going to help me?”
Her cheeks flush and she hugs herself, her sudden shyness an intriguing contrast to her confident banter. “I’ll let you know if you don’t get it all.”
My apparently lipstick-stained lips curve at her quick wit but I take the napkin and wipe my mouth, arching a questioning brow when I’m done. She points to the corner of my mouth. “A little more on the left.”
I hand her the napkin. “You do it.”
She inhales, as if for courage, but takes it. “Fine,” she says, stepping closer, that wicked sweet scent of hers teasing my nostrils. Wasting no time, she reaches for my mouth, her body swaying in my direction while my hand itches to settle at her waist. I want this woman and I’m not letting her get away.
“There,” she says, her arm lowering, and not about to let her escape, I capture her hand, holding it and the napkin between us.
Those gorgeous pale blue eyes of hers dart to mine, wide with surprise, the connection sparking an unmistakable charge between us, which I feel with an unexpected, but not unwelcome, jolt. “Thank you,” I say, softening the hard demand in my tone that long ago became natural.
“I owed you,” she says, her voice steady, but there’s a hint of panic in her eyes that isn’t what I expect from this clearly confident, smart woman.
“What’s your name?” I ask.
“Emily,” she replies, sounding just a hint breathless. I decide right then that I like her breathless but I’d like her a whole lot more if she were naked and breathless. “And you’re Shane.”
“That’s right,” I say, already thinking of all the ways I could make her say my name again. “I’ve never seen you here before.”
“I’ve never been here before,” she counters and I have this sense that we are sparring, when we’re not. Or are we?
My cellphone rings and I silently curse the timing, some sixth sense telling me that the minute I let go of this woman, she’s gone, but I also have to think about whatever explosion Seth is trying to contain. “Don’t move,” I order, before releasing her to dig my phone from my pocket. I glance down at the caller ID to find my mother’s number, and just that fast, Emily darts around me.
I curse and turn, fully intending to pursue her, only to have Seth step in front of me. Considering the man equals my six feet two inches, and is broader than I am wide, he stops me in my tracks. I grimace and he arches a blond brow that matches the thick waves of hair on his head. “Looking for me?”
“You’ll do,” I say, reaching for my coffee and bypassing it to pick up Emily’s instead, or rather holding it captive for the return I doubt she’ll make.
Wall Street meets the Sons of Anarchy in Bad Deeds, the smoldering, scorching next novel in the explosively sexy Dirty Money series from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones.
Would you bleed for the one you love?
To save his family empire from the grip of the drug cartel, Shane is pushed to the edge of darkness, forced to make choices he might never make. His father is dying. His brother is desperate to rule the empire and this means war and all gloves are off. His brother only thought he knew what dirty meant. Shane is about to give it new meaning. There is another war brewing though, and that one, is inside him, his battle between right and wrong, light and dark, and in the heat of the night, it is Emily he turns to for escape. Driving her to new limits, pushing her to accept a part of him that even he cannot.
In every one of Shane's seductive demands, Emily can taste and feel, his torment, his struggle to save his family and not lose himself. But he is losing himself, and that is a problem just as dangerous as her secret, that still lurk in the shadows, a threat to the Brandon Family waiting to erupt. No matter where she and Shane have traveled, or will travel in the future, she can't just sit back and watch him become everything he hates, everything he never wanted to become, everything she tried to save him from when she tried to run. It could be their undoing, the end. His end.
This is war, blood will spill, and someone in the heart of the Brandon family will not survive...
I really thought this was a trilogy and the next book was going to be about Shane's brother Derek,
I was so wrong.
Brandon is still trying to get the Brandon empire out of Bed with the Cartel and get rid of the Pharmaceutical company his brother Derek has got them into a mess with, Shane is planning, Emily is still Emily and helping in her own way and Derek begins to mellow.
More secrets are reveals, their's more suspense and definitely more hotness.
A slow burn read, I wouldn't say slow burn romance it's definitely sizzling in that department. More of the same really from the last book and the same as the last book bit by bit new questions are answered and new secrets are revealed. You also get a glimpse of Derek's relationship with the Cartel boss's sister.
Told in dual pov's, Derek even has his own pov so you get to know him a little better, what it doesn't have is the awaited HEA.
A suspenseful sizzling hot read.

Each book roughly about 13/14 chapters inc Epilogue
1. Infatuation by Willow Winters
Young journalist Lila goes to an Alaskan island for an arranged interview by the magazine she works for with Alec Kulls one of the historic families on the island. The interview is on a subject of maintaining the island's traditions, its developments and change in times.
The beginning of the plot is mysterious, the place is mysterious and the man is mysterious and when Lila meets Alec she discovers their interview isn't by chance, he selected her with more than an interview in mind. This is an over the top insta love romance that I thought ended to abruptly with no definate hea.
2. The Billionaire's Beginning by M. Never
I loved this book, business man Ty falls for an ex business partners niece who has been in the forces. Simone has been burned in more ways than one and tries to run but there's no getting away from this determined Alpha.
"shes seduction wrapped in an enigmatic package. And if there's one thing I love its puzzles".

A young woman Emily who works as a library assistant and a famous model Kyle Jordan Prescott due to be actor. This is a second chance romance both characters had a thing in college and never let it go any further through insecurities both thinking they were out of each other league for different reasons. Part of a world I loathe.
Part of a family who hates me more than I hate myself.
Living with a girl who reminds me of my darkness.
I'm. In. Hell.
Also known as the Cosa Nostra.
My life was over the minute I stepped off that plane.
Son to a murdered mob boss.
Heir to a throne of murder and lies.
My name is Dante Nicolasi.
And there will be blood.
Welcome to the family, blood in - no out.
Omg, that was Amazing!!! I was completely captivated throughout, the characters the plot the unpredictability, just wow....... throws mic.
Dante's journey in Enrage begins when he is undergoing lethal training at the hands of the bosses which basically involves being beaten and starved and beaten again, he is later sent on an assignment within Eagle Elite as a student and to gleam whatever information he has while there. This is Dante's chance to prove himself to the boss's, a worthiness of his bloodline.
El is basically a captive free but under a new watchful eye, from the Russians who used her as a play thing and sex object to the Italian Mob. The Italians saved her from the Russians and now she is under their protection but still feels like a captive, letting her go would leave her vulnerable and in danger so she goes to school and returns to the mansion in which they all share.
El doesn't know who to trust anymore but she is given the opportunity to go to school and has Dante as her protector while there.
El doesn't trust the brooding Italian at first and Dante doesn't trust the Russian who's descendants are his enemy.
This is a grown up dangerous plot within a school setting, there's plenty of action, threats, secrets, lies, danger, violence, hot, funny and draw dropping moments.
El and Dante are unable to fight their attraction for each other but for El to be fully protected she must marry an Italian from within the mafia family and one is chosen for her by one of the Boss's to the displeasure of Dante who begins to grow close to El.
Enrage is entertaining, hot, has angst and exciting moments, for a mafia read with younger characters I absolutely loved it, fans of LJ Shen, A Zavarelli & Sarah Brianne will love this book.
My first eagle Elite book, I know, hangs head and I'm so desperate now to go back and start from the beginning although this book could be read as a stand alone and told in dual pov's

I'm a sucker for an mma fighter and this gave me the Real feel like Katy Evans's Real and a plot line (only a little part) that reminded me of Preston's from Sea Breeze by Abbi Glines so without a doubt Tyed has joined my happy awesome shelf because they are another two of my faves right there.
Ty is an MMA fighter on the verge of a big fight and Blaire is studying to become a journalist and ends up with an assignment from her teacher on the MMA sport and has interviews lined up at the gym where Tyler Wilder trains.
Blaire's assignment will give her the important pass or a fail on a sport she knows absolutely nothing about and to top it off she hates violence. Blaire has to pass this time after failing the year before and like a champ she is gets on with it.
Blaire's and Ty's first meeting happens when she is in the car-park of the gym standing my her pink car that she shares with her super model twin sister while smoking a joint to calm her nerves, needles to say Blaire is the total opposite to her model twin sister. Ty comments on her bright pink car giving her the nickname Barbie and pulls the joint from her mouth and throws it away, she immediately comes across as a spunky and take not crap character, I loved her and it seems Ty immediately did too.
I listened to this book on audio and thought the narration was brilliant the excitement and the way Blaire came across as the sassy character made me love her more as I followed Blaire's story.
A great story that would of been a five star if I hadn't kept thinking something was missing and that something was Ty's Pov. I felt there were long gaps in time where you were left wondering what happened or what was said in between and that is my only negative, there was room for Ty and I love dual pov this however is told by Blaire's pov in first person.
I love L.J Shen's writing and her characters, I've read them in no particular order and with each book being a stand alone it doesn't matter what order they are read in but I found this a light read compared to others which are a more recent, touch darker and the characters more alpha which I absolutely love.
Another great read by LJ Shen that had me hungry for more.

The one man she’s always wanted is now the sexy sheriff of their hometown.
Battered but not broken, grad student Brianna Avery returns to the childhood home she abandoned four years ago. With her abusive ex behind bars, Bree needs the summer to relax and recover before returning to school. But her overprotective brother decides she needs someone to babysit her in his absence, and he picks the one person guaranteed to drive her nuts.
She’s the one woman he can’t have.
Telling Bree no has never been easy. Four years ago, Liam Hollister did it to preserve his friendship with his best friend—Brianna’s brother.
Now, no matter how she tempts him, he’s determined to do the right thing. As deputy sheriff of their rural area, Liam is torn between protecting Brianna and wanting her for himself.
Take a risk or lose the chance.
Spending so much time alone together challenges them both. Old feelings and hurts resurface immediately. With each hot, sweaty day it’s harder to deny their attraction.
It’s going to be a long, hot summer.
Bullets & Bonfires is a good slow burn romance (pardon the pun)
Bree is fleeing a domestic violence relationship, while her abuser is behind bars Bree goes home to stay at her brothers or what was her childhood home only her brother is away on business and puts his best friend Liam in charge of looking after Bree.
Bree and Liam have grown up together, his parents have also been her parents coming from a home with no parental guide, a mom who always had different boyfriends her brother Liam was the one always taking care of her.
Bree left for higher education as soon as she could get away from her home town where she always felt judged because of her mother, her upbringing and wanted to get away and so as soon and as she graduated she moved in with her new boyfriend.
Bree was slowly entering into an abusive relationship and before she knew it, it was to late.
Returning home battered and bruised, Liam her childhood crush became her protector.
Liam had always loved Bree but sticking to the Bro-code would never act on his feelings because Bree was his best friends sister.
I loved both characters Bree was a strong person dispite her dv relationship and Autumn Jones Lake delivered Bree's character brilliantly, Bree was broken but not defeated.
Liam is a cop, he's overprotective of Bree hot, swoonworthy but not overbearing.
When Liam finally lets the bro-code burn there's some hot chemistry and sizzling scenes.
A great read that I thoroughly enjoyed, told in dual pov's and leads to a heartwarming hea.
I love Autumn Jones Lake's MC series her characters are always captivating and this standalone was a refreshing change although I do love my biker stories too.
*Bullets & Bonfires does contain a scene of domestic violence not in graphic detail more the damage caused and does not contain rape.

🔥Bullets & Bonfires🔥
Book one in the sexy and scintillating new White Lies duet by Lisa Renee Jones!
There are those moments in life that are provocative in their very existences, that embed in our minds forever, and sometimes our very souls. They change us, mold us, maybe even save us. But some are darker, dangerous. If we allow them to, they control us. Seduce us. Quite possibly even destroy us.
The moment I walked into Sonoma’s Reid Winter Winery and Vineyard and made eye contact with Faith Winter for the first time was one of those moments. Provocative because I know at least one of her secrets, of which, I suspect she has many. Provocative because she believes I was a stranger to her when we met, but I am not. Provocative because I sought her out, with no intention of touching her. But now I have.
Now I want her. Now I have to have her. But that changes nothing. It doesn’t change why I came for her.
Book two: Shameless Now Live!
PROVOCATIVE: causing annoyance, anger, or another strong reaction, especially deliberately?.
When Nick 'Tiger' Rogers first meets Faith Winter at a gathering at her winery his intentions of getting to know Faith are one of deception, he believes Faith has something to do with her fathers sudden death albeit a heart attack but as the plot thickens and there's more investigations by Nick you are left wondering did she? didn't she?.
Nick is a sharp lawyer, aka tiger and Faith is an artist who also inherited her fathers winery. Both have 3 things in common, the sudden death of their parent by heart-attack, Nick lost his father and faith lost her mother, both disliked said parent and both parents were cheaters.
Nick is investigating his fathers death and believes there is fowl play with the questionable written cheques to Faiths mother and Faith is fighting off debt collectors for unpaid bills that her mother never paid, both mysterious in their own way, Why was Nick's father writing cheques and why was faiths mother not paying bills when she had money? Mysterious.
Nick is the only one in this plot investigating his fathers death and all the mystery surrounding it while Faith blindly enters into a relationship unawares of the lies and deception and what is going on behind the scenes.
lust and love can allow you to be blinded by the truth, is Nick being blinded as he begins to fall hard for Faith or is there more to find out. Faith comes across as innocent enough, worrying over the winery that her father loved while allowing her love of painting and art take a back seat until her new found relationship with nick inspires her to paint again.
This is one of those stories that slowly unravel but still leaves you hanging and you feel like it is only just on the tip of warming up while doing so but there's no denying this is a sexy and suspenseful read.
Pure curiosity would drive me to read book two in this duet, it was too slow going and lacking of drama for me to enter into it for any other reason so hopefully that will change.
I pick her up and set her on the counter, spreading her legs, my hips settling between her knees, hands on the lace bands of her thigh highs. “Then again,” I say, my fingers sliding up her naked thigh, to rest just at the edge of her silk panties, “since I’m such a bastard, if you tell me it’s not enough, I might not care. But I’ll try to be polite about it all.”
“Polite?” she asks, giving a choked laugh, her hands covering mine on her thigh. “You?”
“I’m so fucking polite,” I say, “I deserve an award for proper manners.” I stroke the silk between her legs, her spine arching as I do. “I’ll carry your bag for you,” I continue. “I’ll hold the door for you.” I lean in and press my cheek to hers, mouth at her ear. “I’ll make you wet,” I say, shoving aside her panties and stroking the slick heat of her body, my reward in the soft moan that slides from her lips. “I’ll let you come when I’m ready for you to come. I’ll even warn you right before I rip your panties off.” I grip the silk in my hand and yank it away, shoving them in my pocket before settling on one knee in front of her. “And now I’m going to lick you in the very spot you want me to lick you but I’m not going to let you come.” I lean in, and run my tongue along the exposed skin just above the lace of her hose, then caress a path to her s*x, where I pull back just enough to allow my breath to trickle over her, my c*ck so fucking hard it hurts.
She makes a sexy, desperate little sound...

The second and final book in the sexy and tantalizing White Lies Duet from New York Times Bestselling Author Lisa Renee Jones.
Nick "Tiger" Rogers, sought out Faith Winter with revenge as his agenda. He made her his obsession. He seduced her. He made her want him. He made here trust him. And then he trusted her. He wanted her. He loved her.
But now, the lies will be exposed, the truth revealed.
Hearts will be broken. Lives shattered.
The truth. The passion.
The SHAMELESS obsession.
I’m kissing her, drinking her in and this time, and unlike the kiss by the refrigerator, I don’t hold back and neither does she. Our tongues connect, stroke, battle…but it is one I will win. I will demand everything she has to give me. I want her free will. I want her as exposed as I vowed to make her, and it’s not to prove she’s a killer. It’s for me. For the man in me who not only wants to own this woman, I will. And when she tries to resist, when I sense her trying to withhold even a piece of herself, my hand covers one of her breasts. My fingers stroke her nipple with delicate, sensual touches that become rougher and rougher.
She pants into my mouth, and satisfied that wall she just tried to put up has fallen, I nip her lips, lapping at the offended area before I pull back, fingers still tangled in her hair. I yank at my tie and unbutton the last two buttons still intact, but I don’t move away. Not yet. I kiss her again, hard and fast, and while the resistance is gone, the taste of challenge remains on her lips, but it will soon be submission. She just doesn’t know it yet.
My hands go to her hips and I lift her off the counter and pull her to me, molding every soft perfect female part of her to my harder body, one hand cupping her sweet little ass. My lips linger just above hers, and damn it, there is this deep ache in me for this woman that is unfamiliar, unwelcomed. The lies I’ve told her are a fist in my chest that I reject. I have to know the truth and it’s not a truth someone just tells.
I squeeze her ass and then draw back and smack it, testing her, feeling out the depth of those nerves she showed me, her comfort level with where I might take her. Making a judgment on where I think she wants me to lead her. She doesn’t jolt with the impact. She doesn’t act shocked or angry. She leans into me, her body already submitting to me even if her mind has not, her hand covering my hand where it covers her breast. Her message is clear: She wants the kind of escape I’ve just offered. She wants me to push her to go to places that consume, to leave room for nothing else but the here and now. No fears. No nerves. No emotion, of which I hope like hell does not include guilt.
Whatever particular sins she wishes to escape—and to me emotions that control us are sins—she doesn’t just want someone to f*ck. She wants that invisible something that she believes I can give her. After two years of trusting no one, she’s chosen to gamble on a man who’s here to expose more than her passion. If she is guilty of murder or blackmail, or both, I’m a master in every sense of the word. If she’s innocent, I’m a bastard in every sense of the word. I kiss her again, and this time there is anger on my tongue, accusation, my own lies, and maybe hers.
And when I pull back, my anger, my own torment over my actions, her trust, her possible sins and mine, have shifted the mood between us. Intensity that wasn’t there moments before pulses between us, a living thing, a band wrapping us, pulling us closer but in a dark, volatile way. Her hands grip my arms, fingers flexing into my skin. Our breathing is ragged, heavy. I scoop her up, aware of how naked she is but for her thigh highs and her high heels, aware she is mine to own now, and mine to destroy if I so please. And she doesn’t know it. There is something powerful and arousing about this idea that I’m pretty sure makes me a sick f*ck, and I’m accusing her of being no better, she just doesn’t know it. But I reject the guilt that pierces a tiny part of my black, steel heart for her and her alone. I’ll make being owned feel so good for her.
I carry her to the living room, but I don’t take her to the couch. I take her to the rug in front of the fireplace and lower her to her feet in front of me. She reaches for me, and damn, as much as I crave those hands on my skin, I resist and catch her wrists.
“You touch me when l say you can touch me from this point forward.”
Her eyes flash with defiance. “And if I don’t agree?”
“Then I don’t touch you.” I walk her to me, her elbows bending, arms resting between us. “We both know what you want from me.”
“Which is what?” she demands, a hint of vulnerability in her voice that I find sexy as hell.
“An adrenaline rush. The kind that pushes your limits but comes with a burn for more tomorrow, not with the regret your nerves fear I’ll give you. But your hard limit pushes for just that. It says, all or nothing tonight. It says, go there now or there is no chance to go there later. I won’t go there now just to live up to your hard limit.”
“I didn’t set sexual limits. I set a time limit.”
“If you didn’t have a sexual limit, you wouldn’t have gotten spooked earlier and you wouldn’t have gone untouched for two years.”
“That two years has nothing to do with us tonight.”
“It does to me. You have limits. Someone broke them.”
“I don’t have limits tonight.”
“Except one night. And that creates a limit for me. I won’t take you too far and find out it’s too far, too late, to turn back time. Consider that my new hard limit, added to my promise to make you want more than tonight. Because I do.”
“If you plan to treat me like a delicate flower, this ends now.”
“I don’t do delicate flowers, sweetheart. Cowering females don’t get me off. But you aren’t that, and you do. You get me off, Faith. But submission isn’t weak. It’s fearless. It’s pleasure. But it’s also trust.“

This is the second part of the white lies duet.
Well after finishing book one, curiosity won out along with the hope that book two would have more speed.
I discovered who was the real murderer of Faith s mother and Nicks father, all secrets are revealed but alas it was very slow going with a heck of a lot of dialogue.
In theory the plot was interesting but it dragged on and I was losing interest numerous times despite the hot scenes.
Curiosity killed the cat so they say.
A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Vi Keeland
The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.
Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.
Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.
The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.
The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.
"Your the colour in my black & white world".
The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.
Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all.
I loved this book, it was funny and hot in all the right places.
Drew came off as egotistical at first but that doesn't last long as you begin to swoon at his sexy ways, his dirty mouth and off the cuff comments with Emerie. He's a hot suit divorce lawyer who has relationship issues after being burned by his ex wife and as a result only has male clients, its like he's on a mission to seek justice for all men who has been wronged in marriage.
Emerie had just started a new business as a relationship councillor, she's been in love with her professor now friend for years, she even moved across state and into the apartment next door when she found out he was single again but that was short lived when Baldwin got another girlfriend, he never gives her the inclination he feels the same way, parading his one night stands or new girlfriends around her while also giving her hope by taking her out for dinner and calling at her apartment, its the typical example of unrequited love.
Drew Jagger has had a series of bad New Years eve's but the one where he finds a stranger in his office with her skirt round her ankles threatening Krav maga skills just may be the turn around and end to his bad New Years eves he needs and a new beginning for both of them.
I loved these two characters, the banter, the chemistry, the Witt, the sassiness, the hot moments that develop and the plot is one of those that has you hoping for a happily ever after to come after the drama.
Great read I loved the writing style told in dual pov's and looking forward to reading more from Vi Keeland.
I listened to Egomaniac on audio, the narration was good and I stayed engaged in the plot.
