Rule #1: No hot guys.
It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of is, but college was supposed to be my sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I endured through high school would all be gone.
No one would know me at college.
Rule #2: No drama.
I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them.
Rule #3: New year. New place. New me.
And all because of Shay Coleman.
Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight . . .
. . . and he was about to break all my rules.

Standalone college romance.
Kennedy is a tough girl who comes across as someone who isn't to be messed with, her walls of defence are always in place caused by hurt from her past and a determination not to let anyone in again.
Shay is the guy girls just fawn over, he's the star quaterback, a popular guy without even trying, he's not cocky or rude, Shay is a genuine nice guy, everyone loves him, well except Kennedy.
Kennedy tries to keep her distance from Shay, avoids his advances and the more her tough attitude comes out the more attractive Kennedy is to him and he gradually begins to break down her walls.
Hate to love you is an enemies to lovers story although not really enemies, Kennedy just proclaimed to dislike Shay so he would stay away from her. There's the dilemmas of high school, who to trust, who to avoid, bitching, school dramas, boys, girls, parties all that sort of thing.
There's no heavyness or angst, a little drama thrown in here and there and hotness, all in all, it's an enjoyable read if you like reading college or high school romance.
