Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary.
But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.
For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn't find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He's asking for the unthinkable.
What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?
4 Big guy stars.
My last book I read by this author was Under Locke so in contrast it was quite different with the characters but in a way the same.
An employee boss relationship, a slow burn romance leaving you teetering on the edge right til the very end for what any hopeless romantic would consider finishing on a happy sigh.
Vanessa at the beginning of this book begins her journey as Aiden Graves star linebackers assistant, the moody footballer know as the wall of Winnipeg, you could say it's not the best start in a relationship, in fact it isn't a relationship at all. Vanessa arranges his calendar, plans his life, cooks cleans, she's basically Aiden's dogs body and does it gracefully all be it with feelings of being unappreciated until she finally throws in the towel.
What starts off as you're average employee contact turns into more when Aiden tracks her down and approaches her with an offer she can’t refuse.
Unrequited love, a gradual change of feelings progress as Vanessa under the new contract lives with Aiden.
I loved the build up, the characters, the moments of sweetness and humor and Vanessa's ability to take it as it is and move on because who likes a whiny character? Vanessa's definitely not that.
The wall of winnipeg and me is a feel good read that allows you to get swept away with the plot told in Vanessa's pov. Great extended characters too, I loved Zack.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.
