It’s crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long.
Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation — it was just us.
It was just him — the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle.
It was just me — the alcoholic, pretending like I didn’t want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn’t make me crave him any less.
But we can’t start here.
No, to tell this story right, we need to go back.
Back to the beginning.
Back to the very first drop.
This is my love letter to Whiskey. I only hope he reads it.
A story of life, love, choices and regrets.
I don't think you can read this book without getting frustrated, sad and sometimes shedding a tear.
This is a story of destiny, a journey through life and choices, choices that weren't always right but maybe they were at the time?.
I was moved, perplexed, sometimes I didn't want to carry on as I read A Love letter to whiskey which is like a diary or memoirs of a girl named B.
B met a guy called Jamie who she also named Whiskey, they first met in high school, they both made mistakes over and over, he saw other girls, she saw other boys but they were like magnets fighting the inevitable.
B fought in her life and love life until finally she didn't, YES, FINALLY!! I SHOUTED and that only came at the end.
My stomach was in knots, I screamed in my head at the decisions made in the lives of these two characters over the span of 11 years of which the story was told. From college to the age of thirty, I was truly taken on an emotional roller-coaster.
A five star read for those who love the emotional angst, teasingly told by the author with heartwarming and heart-breaking moments.
I listened to A LOVE LETTER TO WHISKEY in audio which made the book feel more real, the feelings, the characters felt more real and I was right there with them and sometimes it hurt.
Told in first person. Leads to hea.
Have you met Jamie and B yet? http://amzn.to/2vL0BNh
