A throwaway & a Princess.
Both of us are messed up, both of us pretending.
I’ve played with her, manipulated and bullied her, right up until the moment I realised how much I wanted her.
When I was planning to beg for forgiveness, someone else was planning her demise.
Her crown might have slipped but no one will ever be able to take it away, she’s a Princess, my Princess to the very core.
I’ve spent every moment of the last few years counting down for my freedom, now I want to be caught and bound to her.
Archer’s Creek was where I was forced to come; now it’s the only place I’ve ever wanted to stay.
Can she forgive me or has my past left me beyond redemption?
What can I say....I want more.
Found is the conclusion to Hidden, Valentine and Nova's story and cannot be read as a standalone.
Honestly, it didn't feel like two books, I finished one and immediately jumped into the next and was a little sad when I reached the end. I wanted the whole hea, the wedding, the pregnancy, that's how much I didn't want to let go and that's the romantic in me but they are only eighteen for goodness sake, I had to remind myself that but I do hope to see more of Nova and Valentine in future books.
I loved the whole family feel, it still had the MC kind of feel where family is a priority, no one messes with a Sinner's kid.
I adored the extended characters too and the flawless plot that gave me a smooth ride right up to the end.
A high school romance that was so much more, a bully romance that became so much more, it all switched around in the second book. Questions were answered, my doubts about the character's and their actions were squashed. Valentine had his say more in this book and there was more from his point of view, Valentine went from the huge A-hole in book one to the broken boy you just wanted to wrap your arms around.
"We two are a pair, I'm crazy and he's fucked up; maybe it's our jagged edges that pull us toward each other, maybe it's that were each so frayed and distorted that we fit"
I would definitely recommend this duet, I was glued to my kindle from start to finish. Like I said in my previous review, I have read a lot of books were the kids are from a mafia family and rule the school so to speak, this is my first of this kind where the kids are from an MC and I loved it. Fans of LJ Shen will love this too.

I’m the Princess of the Doomsday Sinners MC.
The most popular girl in school.
My name is Nova Stubbs and all of those words have been used to describe me, they define me. Or at least that’s what people think.
No-one except my family ever bothered to look past the mask I wear, the role I play. Because this is what they want me to be, who they expect.
If they looked a little deeper they’d see the crumbling mess I am.
I care too much and hate who I pretend to be. My mind is too loud and it consumes me. Staying hidden is the only way I survive.
Then Valentine Miller steps into my world.
He hates me. He manipulates me and controls me. But when I’m with him he makes the world quiet.
Love. Hate. Need. Want. I feel them all when he touches me.
Valentine wants to ruin me and I might let him.
It's time for the next generation...
Hidden is available on all platforms now https://books2read.com/hiddengw
The next generation, I love these kind of books. You've seen the parents fall in love and now it's down to the kids.
This book though can be read as a standalone and the previous series does not need to be read.
This is Nova's story, The biker princess of the Doomsday Sinners and the boy who takes her crown.
Hidden is based in a high school setting and most of the scenes revolve around high school, so this is quite different from Gemma Weir's previous MC books but you still have the hotness, the alpha male character, the feel of the MC togetherness with Nova and her other family members who all attend the same school.
Nova is a messed up kind of girl, the plot immediately thrusts you into the mind of Nova, her inner battles and the many wars she has with herself, a teenage girl with anxiety, though I couldn't figure out the root of her anxiety when she's from a stable, strong and loving family.
Nova is the daughter of an MC club member and since the start of school Nova has played to her peers expectations of being a mean girl when inside she was anything but, at home she would let her mask fall and just be Nova.
Nova put on a show she thought they all expected in school but hated every minute of it, she was a little bit of a contradiction because she acted boldly, the high school bitch and yet in her thoughts she feared being talked about, whispered about, yet her actions justified being talked about, whispered about and by being the school Bitch and top dog she thought people wanted, she also made herself unapproachable....See, messed up?
Valentine comes onto the scene as the new guy in school with the bad boy vibe and boy was he bad and he immediately takes a dislike to Nova, even before school when he meets Nova at her Aunts home when he is introduced as the new foster kid and new member to their home. But yes its instant dislike with Nova, how he did that with one glance I don't know.
Valentine claims he sees her, the real her, the false her and he makes it his mission to make her uncomfortable, fear him by tormenting her, threatening her and his reason? well, that was a little unclear but I'm sure all will be revealed in the next book.
HIDDEN is a short bully romance that finishes with a cliffy but the next book FOUND will also be ready to jump into.
I enjoyed it, in fact I didn't put it down from start to finish, it was intense, hot, unpredictable, it had an L.J Shen kind of feel to it with her mafia series, if you like that authors work, give this a shot.
I think this is the first series I'm starting were the kids are from an MC and in high school kind of setting, I've read plenty of Mafia books similar, so I love this, it's refreshing when something is different from your norm.
Looking forward to the next book and conclusion also with other characters already drawing me to them I'm looking forward to the series too.
Told in first person pov.
Infatuation is a dangerous thing.
It devours you. Manipulates you. Owns you.
You can try to ignore it, try to move past it. But it’s more powerful than you. It won’t let go.
The day I first saw him, infatuation dug its claws into my soul. I couldn’t stop it. Everything faded. Except him.
My infatuation blinded me. Made me see what it wanted me to see. Now I’m lost within the lie. Caged by the beast.
In the end, he will have me.
Until then…I fight.

DEFIANT is the second part to Alyx and Granite's story and cannot be read as a standalone.
Jumping straight in from the first book DEPRAVED, the angst, danger, threats from a club rival and bloodshed continue while Alyx who is the Police commissioners daughter also still remains a captive to the American street Kings MC and under Granite's spell.
This is no ordinary captive falling for her captor kind of romance, Alyx and Granite already had this weird lust from a distance, through a window thing going on for a while even before she was taken/kidnapped but their relationship becomes more real now, definitely more physical, Granite finally has her in his possession and as days pass she begins to realise she possesses him just as much.
There's a lot of angst in DEFIANT, dark and gritty scenes, there was ways something happening and its a hard book to put down once you start.
Alyx was once a controlled child, moulded into what her mother wanted her to be and even as an adult she didn't have the strength to break free, until Granite. I enjoyed the conclusion but I still needed that little bit more to convince me Alyx was finally happy, healthy and content especially with what she had suffered from her mother.
This book does end on a sort of cliffy but it has more to do with what is going on in the club rather than Alyx and Granite's relationship.
I would read the next book in the series, the other characters are interesting and despite the grit and darkness in he plot, this MC is one of the good ones were they treat each other as family and look after their own.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.
The NHL’s been at my door since I was 18.
But I’d never leave the Swedish Hockey League—
Not while raising my little brother.
But now he’s grown and the Carolina Reapers show up with my greatest weakness:
Langley Pierce, their new head of PR.
I’ve never been able to say no to her.
She’s fierce, independent, and the sexiest woman I’ve ever met.
She also has a stubborn streak wider than my entire country.
One comment from her smart mouth about never dating again, and I propose.
No, really, I actually propose:
A six-month marriage contract in exchange for signing with the Reapers.
I want to date this woman so badly that I’m going to marry her first.
I’ll use each day to show her how a queen should be treated.
Our wedding day started a countdown I’m powerless to stop,
And the faster the months fly, the harder I fall.
She’s sworn she’ll never choose a man over her career,
And I promised never to ask her to.
Until I’m forced to.
How can we move forward when we started this whole thing backwards?
If I can’t convince her this marriage is anything but fake—
The next document we sign will crush us both.
Welcome to the Carolina Reapers, Samantha Whiskey’s newest hockey series where the chill of the ice meets sultry southern nights.

This was fabulous for my first ever book by this author, I will be coming back for more.
Axel is basically a Swedish hockey player, a very sought after one.
Axel was left as sole carer for his brother following his parents death, he takes family and his hockey seriously but now his brother is older and moving towards his own career Axel can now start thinking about himself after years of putting his brother first.
Langley is head of PR for an American hockey team that want him.
They have met each other before, Axel's childhood best friend plays for the same team Langley represents. After refusing to move no matter what figure they offer the club's òwner send in the big guns in the firm of Langley as they know he likes her.
Axel more than likes her, he has wanted Langley since he first laid eyes on her at a function.
Axel agrees to go only if Langley will marry him.
Langley does come across as shallow, I mean who wouldn't think that if a woman marries to help her career, she is very much a career-driven woman which may also give you the impression of her being cold but as the plot develops, as the chemistry begins to happen, this story turns out to quite swoon-worthy, heartwarming and hot!.
An enjoyable read, no spoilers to previous books in the series given and I'm looking forward to reading more from Samantha Whiskey.
The last time I saw Declan St. James was at our rehearsal dinner. That was shortly before he jilted me at the altar. To avoid the swarm of whispers and finger pointing every time I dared to show my face in public, I fled two hours south to Atlanta and never looked back. Over the last decade, I’d planned hundreds of scenarios about how our next meeting would go down. The expletives I’d hurl at him. Which knee I might use to annihilate his balls. Which dimpled cheek on his ridiculously handsome face I would send a stinging slap across.
But being elbow deep in a cow’s ass was not one of them.
Normally, I didn’t get up close and personal to a bovine’s rectum. At least not since veterinarian school. But desperate times found me back home to attend my grandfather’s funeral, who happened to be the town’s large animal vet. Those two facts had left me wading through manure in Roy Wallace’s pasture to care for a distressed heifer.
While time and maturity seemed to have changed him from the boy I knew, I still wasn’t falling for his charm. Or his hard, chiseled body. Or ass you could eat dinner off of.
No, I wasn’t going back down that street again. Unfortunately, Declan didn’t seem to get the message. Instead, he seemed as stubborn as he ever was and ready for a fight. It’ll be the fight of his life for me to let him back in my heart.

A Jilted bride and a second chance romance.
This was an ok read, there's no heavy drama or angst, basically, Peyton is dumped on her wedding day, she's marrying her highschool sweetheart but following a call from Declan her supposed to be groom, she discovers he has flown to Aruba to their honeymoon destination while she is stood in her wedding dress in church.
Declan seems like he's done a lot of soul searching and says he can't go through with it, he thinks they are to young, at 19, he doesn't like the idea of his life being all mapped out and can't get married.
They loved each other, his actions are a bit odd but it happens.
Peyton is the one left facing a church full of people, she's heartbroken and embarrassed, it's a small farming town full of gossips so following her wedding day that never happens she leaves for college/vet school to go through with her plans and follow in her Grandfathers footsteps as a vet.
10 years later and the death of her Grandfather brings her home.
Declan still lives there, he's married, yep, that's a kick in the gut for Peyton but he's also going through a divorce, been cheated on (Karma) and also has a son who he has full custody of.
Peyton can't escape Declan, it's a small town, shes harbored hurt for a decade and never settled down, she still loves Declan deep down and tries to move past all the hurt. To move on finally and face her hurts, her fears answers are needed, apologies are needed, there's healing to process, which all leads to second chances.
This is a heartwarming second chance romance. Peyton and Declan have undeniable chemistry, they never should have lost 10 years without each other. Declan has a whole lot of regret and he's out to get back the woman he never should have let go.
Told in first person dual pov and leads to a heartwarming hea

In an instant, I screwed everything up.
I had my girl, Cassia, and for once, I felt like I belonged. With my quick temper, I let her father manipulate me and I lost everything.
My past threatens to destroy my future. But with the help of a few old friends and my MC, I hope the nightmare that is my family, can be put to rest once and for all.
A fast-paced MC romance where the savage lies will either bind them together or keep them apart.
Book 7 in the Savage Angels MC Series.
I've been following this series from the very beginning and it's always great catching up with the Savage Angels MC.
Cass and Zeke's story draws you in from the beginning with the chemistry and hotness these two characters have with each other but it isn't without its twists and turns, there's also lots more going on outside their relationship with the MC and other characters too.
Told in first person multiple pov so you get a good insight to all characters involved in the plot as each has their own view on what's going down, it's different and I like how the author has done this.
Although this is an MC series and not without its danger and drama's it's also not what I would class as dark MC, I found it perfectly balanced with humour, suspense, family loyalty, hotness and heartwarming moments.
This book doesn't end on a major cliffhanger but it sure does make you wonder what's going to happen next in the Savage Angels MC world when something else happens that puts one of their loved ones in danger.
A good series to follow starting with Savage Stalker were the president of the MC Dane Reynolds falls for the rockstar and idol, Kat Saunders.

There were always whispers about my roommate at Hillcrest Academy.
The wealthiest of the wealthy sent their kids to our boarding school, and Brooke Bennett had been at the top, though I never quite knew why. She was fun and outgoing, but she kept quiet about her family. The only things she showed me were photographs of her brothers.
I became fascinated with her second-oldest brother. Kai Bennett.
He was the most of them all. Smoldering. Hypnotic. Alluring.
Kai had eyes that pulled me in and a face that haunted my dreams.
Then I met him.
He came to our school with their father, and that’s when I learned what kind of family Brooke came from. They were mafia, and Brooke’s oldest brother was dead. Her father said accident, but Brooke said murder.
Three months later, her father died, and Kai became the head of the Bennett Family. Brooke left Hillcrest for good, and that was the last time I saw her.
Fourteen years later, I’m staring at her face on the television. Brooke is missing.
Two days later, Kai Bennett kidnaps me.
I finally got around to this book, since I first saw the cover I wanted it and it didn't disappoint, I loved it. What a roller-coaster ride, Kai is hypnotic, I couldn't get enough.
And finally, a Mafia romance that isn't teenage boys being the Big I am.
I love Tijan's previous books based in a high school setting, I love all her books don't get me wrong but the age of the characters is something I sometimes struggle with, I love Tijan's writing, her plots, the characters but the actions of the characters, it never feels real or believable to me when the bad guy is a teen, I end up having too many doubts due to the age of the characters, I spend most of the time questioning things, trying to reason with what I am reading, I try and forget about the age and picture older characters until I am reminded about the setting or their age, this isn't just this author I have read a few books were the bad guy is in high school, the head of the Mafia, or a gang leader. Anyway moving on...........
This book though, this felt more believable, Kai Bennett was danger, he was a brooding alpha, he was alluring and the head of the Mafia, he was also maturer, this was no teenager finding his feet, playing Mafia, Kai Bennett was the Mafia, hang on; just let me wipe away my dribble.
A slow burn romance with intense moments, there's danger, kidnappings, angst, hotness, twists and turns, damn this was good.
Another brilliant read from Tijan, my favourite yet.
I listened this in audio, it took a bit to get into, boy was the narrator hyped up, I spent the first few chapters tense and couldn't relax, its like she had had a bag of blue sweets or something before reading, she sure did put everything into it but in the angst moments her enthusiasm really brought it all to life.
Everyone hates parts of their job.
Maybe it’s the paperwork. Maybe it’s the day-to-day grind. Maybe it’s that client who never knows what they want, or the guy who always cooks fish in the microwave.
But not me. I love every corner of the Longbourne Flower Shop, every flower, every petal, every stem. I love the greenhouse, and I love Mrs. Bennet, my boss. I love creating, and I love being a florist. I don’t hate anything at all.
Except for Luke Bennet.
The Bennet brothers have come home to help their mom save the flower shop, and Luke is at the helm. His smile tells a tale of lust, loose and easy. He moves with the grace of a predator, feral and wild. A thing unbridled, without rules or constraint.
When he comes home to save Longbourne, I almost can’t be mad at him.
He doesn’t remember that night I’ll never forget. That kiss, touched with whiskey and fire. It branded me like a red-hot iron. But it meant nothing to him.
Everyone hates part of their job, and I hate Luke Bennet.
Because if I don’t, I’ll fall in love with him.

Coming Up Roses is LIVE and available in KU! 💐
Coming Up Roses is an enemies to lovers or friends to lovers Romance with angst, funny moments, hotness, swoon- worthy moments and a whole bunch of sweetness.
The story begins when all the Bennet family siblings returning home to help their mother save the family business, the family business has gone from a chain of flower shops down to just the one which has been in their family for generations. Each family member puts in their own skills and the mission is on to save the business and bring it up to date, with the times and back on it's feet.
Tess has worked for Mrs Bennet for years, from when she was at school, she was also once the best friend of Luke Benet the youngest sibling in the Bennett family until Luke broke her heart and hurt her feelings.
Tess had always liked Luke, they were best friends and even worked with each other in the shop when they were younger. A night of whiskey in the greenhouse has Luke and Tess's friendship taking a drastic turn.
Tess after years of crushing on Luke finally gets a kiss from him, she thinks she is finally getting her man but things aren't quite as she imagined them to be when next morning Luke in his hung over state has forgotten all about the kiss and whispered promises the night before and he just goes straight back into friend mode with Tess.
Tess is hurt, does she tell him, how can he forget a night she will remember forever?? the icing on the cake is when he starts dating other girls, one being her best friend. .
Tess is no doormat and backs off, her hurt turns to anger and over the years hate, so when Luke waltzes in the door years later after living away from home and she discovers he will be working along side her at the shop and also tries to pick up their friendship, Tess is anything but happy, Luke Bennett is nothing but a thorn in her side.
Luke and Tess have chemistry, they were definitely meant to be together but had a lot to work through before they got to that point, they had a lot of misconceptions about each other.
"When I kissed her once more, I felt her give herself over completely, felt her yield, felt the fight in her heart abandon her. And I took the chance to fill that space in her with me. I'd convince her I could be what she wanted, what she didn't think I was. I could be that man. I would be that man"
I liked Tess she is a fiery character, definitely likeable. Luke however, well, I had my reservations about him, especially following some of his actions with his ex but he did make me swoon, he was 50/50 so not a bbf for me.
In summary; Coming Up Roses is an enjoyable read, I loved how the Bennet family all came together to save the business, there was a bit of drama and angst but Tess and Luke's story does finally lead to a heartwarming ending. Told in first person dual pov.
This is the first book in a new series.
Obsession. It’s an ugly thing.
It consumes you. Controls you. Dictates your every move.
You can try to fight it, try to resist. But its stronger than you. It always wins.
The day I first saw her, obsession took root inside me. Suddenly there was nothing else. Just her.
My obsession left me no choice. I had to have her.
No matter the cost.
No matter the risk.
In the end she will be mine.
Until then…I wait.

Gripping, intense, dark a bit creepy but I loved it.
Both of these characters are quite complex. Granit comes across as a dark and brooding Alpha with a huge obsession on a tiny ballerina. Since the first moment he saw Alyx he has wanted her, obsessed over her and watched her, he is the president of an MC.
Alyx is the daughter of a police commissioner, she's a ballet dancer, a good girl with her own desires and obsessions, she is also the victim of abuse from her own mother. Since she first saw Granit through her window she has also obsessed over him, dream't about him.
Neither has met each other, spoken to each other until suddenly one night Alyx is attacked while getting into her car, the attackers are attempting to take her but then she is rescued by Granite and the MC who then also become her kidnappers and Alyx finds herself held captive anyway.
There is more to the reasons why Alyx is taken that night other than Granite being obsessed with her, in fact, Granite doesn't let any of his brothers know that he has been secretly stalking her for a long time, Alyx is a pawn in a bigger game and you don't get to see the bigger picture just yet.
There are a lot of twists and turns, dark moments, intense moments, Depraved is book one and finishes on a cliffhanger but I am eagerly waiting to find out how this all unfolds in Defiant, I was gripped from the very beginning and was disappointed when it finished. If you like your reads a little more on edge, unpredictable, dark then take the plunge. Book 2 is out August 28th, 2019

Screw the rules.
Army veteran Richie Tallin returns to South Dakota from a disastrous war with nothing to gain and nothing to lose. With no real home, his family in shambles, his dad’s old motorcycle becomes the key to a new life as Wreck, the Road Captain of an outlaw motorcycle club. Now he’s living the life he’s always craved—freedom, good times, loyalty, no regrets, and, hell yes, no rules.
But when he finally gets a chance with Isi, a feisty girl he’s had his eye on for years, everything shifts. As fiercely independent as Wreck, Isi is determined to restart her life and keep her family’s business afloat while she hides a wounded past. She and Wreck light a fire in each other that’s unexpected and wild, and what begins as a casual fling becomes passionate and serious real fast.
Life is good.
But when a war of revenge, payback, and power breaks out, everyone gets caught in the crossfire. Choices are made. Sacrifices that can never be undone. In a crazy 80’s world of drug dealers, rock and rollers, and rival outlaws, Wreck and Isi are determined to hold on come what may.
And come it does.
Few know how the One-Eyed Jacks MC of Meager came to be. And fewer still, how the love of one woman changed the destiny of a small town in the Black Hills of South Dakota forever.
When I finished this book I had no words, I' was a wreck over Wreck. What an epic love story. What a storyteller Cat Porter is. All the feels experienced in this book.
It's one of those reviews where I honestly don't know were to start, don't know what to say other than this was a beautiful journey and I felt every high and low with these characters.
A biker named Wreck who is an ex veteran and a woman named Isi (Isadora) who feels the freedom in singing, together they give each other wings, freedom to follow their dreams while also living the dream with each other, Two free spirits who unite and become one while each fulfilling their own dreams.
This is a love story like no other I have read, an ending like no other I have read. Not all love stories have a happy ending, did THE DUST AND THE ROAR have a happy ending?, well, it depends on how you view it, I thought it did but I still had sadness in my heart.
You are taken on a journey from the 70's when Isi and Wreck first meet, to how Isi begins her singing career and begins to go on tour, how Wreck starts up his Club and along with his brothers they become the One-Eyed Jacks MC of Meager in a small town in the Black Hills of South Dakota. With over 60 chapters this is one chunk of a book but honestly, I could have read on, I was completely lost in this story.
I don't want to add spoilers but I do want to say, read it and enjoy the journey, the laughter, the heartache, the development in the plot, the storytelling and beautiful words of Cat Porter, you need to read this book and I say that very few times.
"When it’s my time to start singing, when the notes rise and I’m about to jump in, that moment—suddenly everything—and I mean everything—fits into place, and it’s a place I’m addicted to. Big, pure, full of every color—colors I don’t even know exist and don’t have words to describe. It’s intense and scary, but it’s where everything is true. When I sing, I’m the me I was meant to be, I’m the me I’ve been reaching for so long. You were so right. I wouldn’t be feeling all this, wouldn’t be right here if it wasn’t for you.” - Isi

But Mo has a strict rule. If he’s guarding your body, that’s all he’s doing with it.
However, the longer Mo has to keep Lottie safe, the faster he falls for the beautiful blonde who has it so together, she might even be able to tackle the demons he’s got in his head that just won’t die.
But in the end, Lottie and Mo don’t only have to find some way to keep hands off until the threat is over, they have to negotiate the overprotective Hot Bunch, Lottie’s crazy stepdad, Tex, Mo’s crew of frat-boy commandos, not to mention his nutty sisters.

And Mo can lay claim to his Dream Girl.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**
QUIET MAN teaser chapter and buy links here: http://bit.ly/2JKlwXw
I love these 1001 Dark Nights novellas they help you get a taste for the authors writing if you haven't read them before or if you have read them and love the authors work you get a nice additional bonus.
Quiet man is a bonus to the Dream man series, it's a standalone but has characters involved from the series and also The Rock Chick series.
Charlotte McAlister AKA “Lottie” is also the sister of Jet from the Rock Chick series and she has a stalker, Lottie is a headliner dancer in a strip club and her boss after receiving a note threatening Lottie looks up his contacts and hires someone to guard her.
Mo is a huge intimidating guy, ex-forces, a giant of a guy with a soft center and Lottie is immediately attracted to him, he's also very insecure through past breakups and can't believe someone as gorgeous as Lottie would want him. Despite Lottie's forwardness and advances Mo takes his job seriously and does not mix business with pleasure and as he begins to get his head around being with a girl like Lottie lays down the law that if anything is going to happen between them it has to be when his job has finished and the stalker is found. When Lottie's stalker is finally found though the hotness switch is definitely on.
I enjoyed Quiet man but found it a little confusing at times when other characters where introduced later, I hadn't a clue who was who, I new a little having read the first two Rock Chicks books but I still got a little lost and would have preferred the plot focusing on more from the main characters. I enjoyed the plot, the slow-burn to Lottie and Mo finally getting together and the excitement in-between but I think someone who is a Kristen Ashley fan and has read the series would definitely get more out of this book.
Quiet Man is a good mix of hotness, action and humor moments. Lottie is a woman with backbone and sass, Mo is a quiet hunk of hotness who is used to a woman having all the words being a brother to 4 sisters.
This wasn't told in my preferred pov and was told in Third-person, I prefer first person pov, getting into the characters head. Quiet man leads to a hea with no cliffhanger.

Thirty-five and single is a hot, funny and flirty friends to lovers read with plenty going on in the mix, disastrous dates, hotness and an ex that won't let go. I enjoyed it all. I adored both characters, I laughed, swooned, the story was hot in all the right places, it was a perfectly balanced read with a beautiful hea.

From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forget—even though he so easily forgot about me—and call him.
Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you’ve had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on him—unloading thirteen years of pent-up emotions.
I didn’t think he’d call me back.
I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he’d become.
Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn’t know. And he had his own secrets.
Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again. Only this time, I went to the airport and booked a ticket to California. We were about to find out if one phone call could bring two lost souls together or if my drunk dial really was all just a big mistake.
A complete STANDALONE
Re-united again *sigh. I love second chances, the reunion of two people who once lost each other coming back together and DRUNK DIAL hit all my happy spots.
I listened to the audio version of this book and loved every minute of it. The DRUNK DIAL title to me suggested something fun, flirty, not that I was looking for something fun and flirty, I would just about read anything from this author and I love her audio books, it just wasn't what I expected.
Rana comes across as a loner, she's insecure and still very much hung up on her childhood best friend Landon who never said goodbye when her parents left suddenly and he never turned up to see her go, she left heartbroken. Lana lived in an extension of Landon's parents home, they worked for his family, Rana's parents claimed they were being kicked out for not paying rent, later down the line Rana discovers that what she was told all those years ago was a lie, Rana went from a happy childhood with her mother and father, a best friend to then moving far away and just living with her father, Rana's life wasn't the same again.
One drunken night Rana finds Landon on her phone and in her drunken depressed stupor decides to let Landon know just what has been plaguing her mind all these years.
I loved how Rana and Landon come back together, I loved the development in the plot, what starts off as a drunken dial becomes a re-kindling of friendship over the phone and in time more. A friends to lovers story with plenty of twists and turns. If your looking for your next BBF read with a tattoo'd swoon-worthy hottie, then look no further.
Another brilliant read from Penelope Ward. I listened to this book as part of a Second chance box set along with Vi Keeland's BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE and Corrine Micheal's SAY I'M YOURS. I cannot recommend this box set enough, I loved each one of these books.
