![]() Wow that was so good. Second chances, I love second chance romance but this was so much more. Elisabeth: Something had broken between us. but in the process something had also been repaired. Elisabeth and Roman had the kind of insta love story where you would think their love would survive anything but sometimes people can only take so much and after numerous heartaches and the death of her child Clare left the marriage. Roman never gave up and god bless Roman, they are a beautiful couple together. Not wanting to add any spoilers I can tell you that not only has Aly Martinez written the type of romance I love with Elisabeth and Roman's reunion but this is only the tip of the iceberg, in the mix you get shocking revelations, danger twists and turns. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see how everything would unfold. Looking forward to book 2 with other characters from this book and the conclusion to the story. Retrieval is told in dual pov's with great characters & recommended for suspense lovers and second chance romance lovers or simply just Aly Martinez lovers. ![]() Blurb I proposed on our first date. God knows she needed the sleep. I didn’t know how she still functioned when her days were filled with tears and her nights weren’t much better. It was precisely the reason I stayed gone as much as I did. Or so I’d thought as I’d thrown myself into work. Money couldn’t solve my problems, but it might have been able to solve hers. My body ached, and my lids barely stayed open despite the pot of coffee I’d downed not even an hour earlier. It was a miracle I had been able to drive at all. I should have just crashed at the office, but after yet another failed prototype, I’d needed an escape. Instead, I’d gone home—the very place I’d spent so many nights trying to avoid. Only one foot was over the threshold when I suddenly froze. “Elisabeth?” I called, flipping the overhead light on. My shoulders fell as I found her sitting on the sofa, her long, blond hair curtaining her face and suitcases surrounding her feet. “What’s going on?” I asked as my gut wrenched, already knowing the answer. I had no right to be surprised. I’d all but forced her hand. If I was honest with myself, it was what I’d wanted—for her. However, none of that made the pain of reality any less agonizing. My heart raced. “Elisabeth?” I prompted again, needing to hear her say the words almost as much as I dreaded it. “I can’t stay here anymore,” she whispered at the floor. Acid rose in my throat. Out of habit, I dropped my keys into the basket she’d bought when we’d first moved in. “If you fail the key basket, the key basket will fail you,” she’d announced with an infectious smile the day we had become homeowners to the two-bedroom-two-bath starter home we could barely afford. It was just seconds before I’d swept her off her feet and made love to her on the hardwood floor of our foyer in the middle of the day. But such was life as a newlywed. Inside that house with her was the only place I’d ever wanted to be. Until the fantasy of forever had worn off and the walls of real life had closed in on us. Once my refuge, our home became an inescapable prison with bars built of my failures. I couldn’t breathe inside that house any more than I could look her in the eye. We’d only been married for five years. But, seeing her now, I felt like it’d been a lifetime since I’d peered into her eyes, promising to love her in sickness and in health. But it wasn’t like she was the same woman, either. Over the last six months, she’d wasted away both physically and mentally in front of my eyes. And I’d done absolutely nothing to help her. But how do you throw a lifeline when you yourself don’t even have a rope to hold on to? I might have been able to keep her afloat for another day, but I’d never have been able to pull her back to me. We merely existed on the same plane. Living under the same roof, eating meals at the same table, sleeping in the same bed. But we were far from sharing our lives together. “Are you coming back?” I asked, not willing to accept the truth that lingered in the air around us. Her deep-green eyes lifted to mine—the red rims and the dark circles doing nothing to hinder her beauty. Swallowing hard, she shifted her gaze to the mantel on the other side of the room. I knew what she was looking at, but I refused to follow her into the past. That might have been our biggest problem of all. She was still living there. And I refused to go back. “Elisabeth?” My voice softened, but the question remained the same. “Are you coming back?” “No,” she replied, swiping the tears from her cheeks. A thousand arrows fell from the sky, searing into my soul. My breath hitched, and my lungs burned. This was it—the end of my life as I knew it. But, in that moment, with her shoulders hunched forward in defeat, I realized that it was the end of hers, too. Why did that realization hurt more than the lifetime of loneliness that was awaiting me when the sun rose? I lifted a hand and rubbed my chest, hoping to ease the mounting pressure threatening to overtake me. “Don’t do this,” I mumbled through the pain. I wasn’t sure who I’d meant that for though. Was I chastising myself for having asked her to prolong the inevitable just because I wasn’t ready to lose her yet? Or was I asking her to stay in this sham of a marriage for even one day longer? Probably both. “You’ll be okay,” she assured me, pushing to her feet and gathering her bag, complete with our Yorkie, Loretta, tucked in her mesh dog carrier. My pulse quickened, nature’s fight-or-flight finally kicking in. But I’d been in flight mode for entirely too long. There was no fight left. I stepped into her path. “Elisabeth, please.” I wasn’t sure why I kept saying her name. I secretly hoped that it would snap her out of it, bringing her back to the reality of it all. But it was the reality that was killing us. “I’ll take off work tomorrow,” I pleaded. “We can talk. Figure things out.” It was selfish. Completely and utterly selfish. But that was nothing new for me. Her chin quivered as a steady stream of tears fell from her eyes. “Promise me something, Roman.” I would have promised her the entire fucking universe if it had made her stay one night longer. But who was I kidding? We were over. We both knew it. “Anything,” I whispered, reaching down to take her hand, desperate for the connection I didn’t deserve. “Remember to live.” Her voice caught, and a silent sob tore through her. Cupping the back of her head, I pulled her into my chest. “I can fix this,” I swore, but it was yet another lie. “We just need time.” Her shoulders shook as she cried in my arms. “We…we promised. We told him we’d live for him.” I closed my lids and clung to her tighter. We were supposed to be fighting and screaming. That was what soon-to-be-divorced couples did. But that wasn’t us. We didn’t hate each other. Elisabeth was my soul mate on every level. And she was paying the price for that. Minutes later, the tears stopped and she backed out of my arms. I fought the urge to regain my hold, forcing her to stay. But her sad resolve as she hurried to the mantel and then to the door made it clear it’d be a wasted effort. Never in a million years had I thought I’d be standing there, watching her walk away. But, then again, I’d never expected her to have the urn of our only child cradled in her arm, either. A reminder of just how much I hadn’t been able to give her. How much I’d never be able to give her. My past, present, and future were walking out of my life, and I stood immobile as every fiber in my being screamed for me to drop to my knees and beg her to stay. To take her in my arms and tell her that we’d figure it out. To reclaim my life once and for all. But how would that have helped her? Staying wouldn’t magically bring back her smile. Nor would it make her look at me with those bright-green eyes that made me feel as though I could conquer the world. It wouldn’t give me back the crazy woman who argued with her whole heart and loved with her entire soul. No. Those days were gone. I’d lost that woman somewhere in the bitterness between grief and blame. We’d been happy once. But we’d gotten greedy and tried to start a family. That was her future. Not mine. Regardless how desperately I longed to give it to her…and then selfishly take it for myself. Sex. That’s how babies are made. Children as young as elementary school are taught the simple biological facts of reproduction. But what they never tell you is that, for one in six couples, having a baby goes a little differently. For Elisabeth and me, it looked more like this: Thirty-six months of crushing disappointment. Three miscarriages. Hundreds of tests our insurance company refused to cover because the inability to reproduce was not considered a health condition. Countless tears. Helplessness. Failure. Failure. Failure. Her broken heart. My empty chest. Thirty-seven thousand dollars we didn’t have. In vitro fertilization. A sperm donor. A handful of hope. A positive pregnancy test. Five months of utter bliss. Earth-shattering devastation. A funeral for a child I would never get to see grow up. A job that became my only reprieve from reality. And now…losing the only woman I would ever love. I’d always been amazed by how much punishment a heart could take. I was broken, battered, and destroyed. And yet, much to my dismay, as I watched the front door close behind her, my heart kept beating.

![]() Wow, I love Josh Healy I love this series, a big family with a great family presence and I've got to see each one of them fall in love, Jennifer Foor has written a brilliant and recommended series with swoon worthy men and great characters. A bit about the plot: Tamsyn goes to college and works at her dads car dealership she finds out her boyfriend of three years has slept with her roommate and the relationship is over despite his begging her and saying it was a mistake. Josh Healy never got over his childhood love Liv, so hearing she has got engaged sends him into a depression, Liv has used him for years, kept him on a leash, she was with other people but kept his hopes up, their relationship was nothing more than sex but Josh always hoped she would come to her senses and want more from him than the occasional one night stand. Josh refused to settle down, always hoping for Liv so he became a serial one night stand guy with a reputation. Josh with his swagger asks Tamsyn out on a date when he meets her at the car dealership the timing for both of them is wrong but so right as they both console one another and a one night stand turns into more. Both Josh and Tamsyn are a great couple the chemistry is special they become best friends as well as lovers and manwhore Josh turns into a swoon worthy and sweet talking guy. You can picture there forever until Liv returns home, she hears Joshua has a girlfriend and her plotting and selfish ways come into play and things seriously gets heated. The angst the drama I was seriously on edge, turning the pages frantically wanting the good bits to come, I felt each characters heartbreak, I also felt the love the passion and the joys. I love Josh and Tamsyn so much, my emotions were all over the place I felt what each of the characters were going through and that Jennifer foor is good writing. A great series, Joshua is told in dual pov's, a brilliant book that does lead to a hea but takes you through a rollercoaster of emotions on the journey there. Josh: This is what love feels like. One girl, two guys, this isnt a love triangle this is just a mass of confusion leading to a what the hell happened? . About the plot: A girls night in ends up with katya placing an add on a dating site, one where her best friend decided to change the wording and make Katyla look more interesting, Katya was now into a Strip aerobics and a pole dancer and Katyla is anything but, shes simply a plain Jane, katyla removes the add after seeing what her friend has done but it's already been seen by someone who is very interested in meeting her. Liam is Katyla's neighbor not as in the flat next door but the adjacent building block and after seeing the add seeks her out but knows instantly the girl portrayed on the website is definitely not the same, as he looks at Katyla in her frumpy brown exterior, looking more like a sunday school teacher. Liam is hot, a sex club owner and a sweet swoon worthy guy and both become great friends instantly with added benefits as he tries to bring out the inner sex kitten in Katyla. Katyla's life becomes complicated when Wulf her childhood next door neighbour and crush turns up out of the blue at her workplace and this now wealthy, bossy, ignorant business man doesn't just ask her out but orders her to meet him at a restaurant not giving her the opportunity to say yes or no. This is the complication, Katyla goes from having no love life to two guys interested in her and both are so different, you have sweet caring Liam and Bossy rude Wulf. This is not a love triangle both relationships are casual, in the early stages and as the plot continues Katya knows she needs to make a decision but things aren't always as they seem. Neighbors is told in third person, I'm not a fan of this writing style, I like to know what each of the characters are thinking but with the twist in the plot I can understand why it was done this way, too much would be revealed and it wouldn't be the same plot at all if it was told in multiple pov. With a sudden twist in the plot it definitely gets more interesting and I am eagerly looking forward to the next read by Stylo Fantome. ![]() Blurb 1. Give you a cup of sugar 2. This is my 2nd book that contains m&m, I wasn't a fan of my previous read and if it hadn't of been for my trust in and love of this authors work, I wouldn't of picked up another. Candy is a dreamer, lives in a hot fantasy world, she has a blog with fictional characters based on Joel and Jethro who she has admired from afar since college. Joel & Jet are best friends the lines have never been blurred in any physical way for both until Candy comes along, at first unbeknownst to each other, both men have fallen for the same girl as each meet Candy in separate places under different circumstances. I felt eased into the story gently, there are lots of lol moments as Candy talks about her fantasy blog with J1 & J2, before she has even met the boys, It was funny at times, I enjoyed it. "I have a date with my fantasy boyfriend's. I even shaved my legs, woohoo! no more forest, camouflage for this girl. I even evicted the bears. Candy boys is told in each persons pov, you experience their thoughts, inward struggles and desires. All characters are likable, lovable and unique in their own way. I felt it started off with lots of humor but as the book progressed it dealt with more serious issues in the thoughts of the characters, homophobia, denial, pasts and fears and it lost the balance the humor at the beginning gave it, even the sex was every other page near the end, blurring the plot a little and making it more erotica but that's personal preference, I love a good story although it did have that too with Jet's past haunting him. An enjoyable college read, hot with no major angst or drama, well written I liked it. ![]() Jake: I can’t believe my coach assigned me a tutor. I’m all that on the field and between the sheets — who cares about my stupid grades? But Claire doesn’t treat me like I’m dumb. When we’re not busy fighting, she actually encourages me. And with those sexy curves of hers, I know just how to thank her. Claire: I hate football players, but I need the money. Jake is just as cocky and arrogant as the worst of them … but his touch sets me on fire. I have to believe he’s different, that he won’t use me and break my heart. Because I can’t stop wanting him. I just hope I survive the ride. ![]() GOODREADS LINK: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/31394397-draw-play PURCHASE LINKS – 99c US: http://amzn.to/2bKzbQr UK: http://amzn.to/2bKyXJd Free in Kindle Unlimited EXCERPT WARNING: SPICE LEVEL – HOT! A few minutes later my phone vibrated on the table, and I read a text message that sent shivers down my body. I want you, Claire. I'll make you beg. I'll fuck you until you can't feel your legs. Whisper in your ear to come for me while you dig your nails into my back. “Oh my God,” I blushed uncontrollably as his hand made its way back onto my legs. “Jake, stop!” “Do you really want me to?” he whispered, moving steadily upward. “Tell me you really want me to, and I will.” I should have. I knew that I should have. I should have made Jake stop. We were in the library, for crying out loud. People studied there. And we weren’t alone. I looked around. I didn’t see any cameras. At the same time, that sneaky hand reached the inside of my thigh. I gasped, closing my eyes. “I’ll stop. I will.” His hand disappeared up my skirt. I opened my legs slightly, aching for his touch. “Hmm,” he whispered, “I think you want me to keep going.” GIVEAWAY There is a giveaway for a $25 Amazon Gift Card & Signed Paperback of Draw Play (open Internationally) http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/ba3ffd551258 ![]() I've been taken and he wants to keep me. 3.75 stars, A good dark Mafia Romance read. I don't really like reading books with authors or bloggers or anything close to home it takes the fantasy part away for me. That being said it was gritty, edgy and hot. When Anthony gets a hit request for Catherine after a month of watching her every move he goes against the request and decides to keep her. Catherine's choice is submit or die. With a Dom, submissive theme Bad boy is a hot read with intense moments told in dual pov's and flows really well. Would I read more from this author? Yes, I was curious about the other characters and the mafia family feel. ![]() BLURB They thought I would do my job. They thought I would kill her. They thought wrong. I’m a dangerous man. This plot took me back to the film Greece were Danny and Sandy fell in love over the summer and when Sandy meets him in School he's a complete asshole. Not the same plot at all but it had that same feel when Cole completely turns on Avery. The plot goes from past to present, told in dual pov's after they have spent 4 years apart. Great writing style I easily got lost in the plot to the point where I even had a few tears. A story of forgiveness, change, turning over a new leaf, second chances with moments of humour, hotness, sadness and heartwarming moments included. A good read, what I would call my sunday reads, no huge angst or major drama just a chilled out read with great characters that leads to a hea, well not a complete hea with wedding bells etc but a conclusion leaving you satisfied. But Avery has news for Cade--she isn’t the same shy, doormat of a girl she was in high school. Since she holds Cade's football future in her hands, she’s more than ready to make payback a real bitch. Will the two stay in the defensive zone or discover that sometimes life's greatest lessons are learned the hard way? ![]() 4 Dolly stars Ok, so firstly it took me a bit to absorb this, not only was Graham Dahlia's step dad but when they did get together she called him daddy, that kind of reminds you constantly it's a taboo and a no no. Dahlia's mother married Graham the Irish mobster and it is nothing more than a marriage of convenience, he saw Dalia being dragged to strip joints and running her mother's errands and wanted to save Dahlia. What started off as Graham being protective of a little girl changed in feelings over time. That part of the plot I could get my head around but the daddy thing, no just no, although Dahlia did say it mostly in humor there was some hot moments where it was also used. Graham is an alpha male, a no nonsense or a please and thank you kind of man, he just takes what he wants, he's the lord of the manor and everyone knows it. Dahlia is an 18 year old girl who quickly became a woman once Graham staked his claim, basically the day she turns 18. I loved the writing style it flowed easily and I would definitely read more from this author with the extended characters from this plot. Stepdaddy Savage had hot and humorous moments, it's a quick read and enjoyable. ![]() BLURB Stepdaddy Savage is a smutty Taboo novella featuring an over-the-top alpha. Read at your own risk. You do not say no to Graham Savage, because Graham Savage doesn’t ask. Just like his name suggests, he takes, and right now, he believes I’m his. He is a cold, calculated, ruthless, formidable Irish mobster, and... my step-dad. Regardless of the fact that it's nothing more than a business transaction, he's technically married to my mom. Even still, I find myself scared to be caught, yet even more terrified of being cut loose. They say love is like a butterfly…well, we are about to prove to the world that it’s also like a punch in the face. Sometimes inevitable…and always painful. EXCERPT Care to explain what the fuck you’re doing in my club?” He leans on his desk, looking casual yet somehow frightening. His eyes, green like lime, shine with a hint of danger in them, and his lips purse. “I wanted to…I dunno, to unwind. Have some fun.” I shrug, looking down. “Be specific,” he orders. “I wanted to drink and dance,” I admit through gritted teeth, feeling myself blushing again and hating myself for it. “And Jersey is small and I didn’t want to bump into my usual high school crowd. All the seniors are going to stupid house parties, which I don’t like. I knew I could probably sneak into this place because it’s so…” Full of underage bimbos, I’m tempted to add, but I don’t. “It’s New York,” I heave a sigh, shrugging with one shoulder. “I knew we’d eventually get in somewhere.” “Drink and dance?” he repeats coldly. I doubt Graham has ever danced. I know he drinks but he seems to be too icy and calculated to do something as fun as dancing. I offer a little nod, feeling a tad less scared but a lot more intrigued. He turns to the wall behind his desk. There are long shelves full of expensive liquor behind his desk. They cover up the whole goddamn wall, to be exact. With his hands knotted behind his back, he examines the liquor like it’s the most fascinating thing in the world before plucking one full bottle of scotch. He takes out four shot glasses from the drawer in his desk and places them in a straight line. After which he unscrews the cap and pours the alcohol into all of them with the skill of a bartender. I flinch. Is he going to get drunk in front of me just to show me that he can and I can’t? What a douche. A hot douche, my brain corrects, quite unnecessarily. He is my step-dad. I shouldn’t even think about it. “What song did you say was playing? The one I should have my DJ fired for?” Oh, shit. He is definitely smirking. And hot damn, he has a dimple. Just the one, on his left cheek. He is so perfectly imperfect. This is not looking good for me. I’ve lived with this man for three years and I’ve only just noticed that he has one dimple. I love dimples, goddammit. “My Boo by Ghost Town.” I swallow. I actually really like that song, but it’s so nineties. Graham plops down on his executive chair and rolls himself toward the giant Apple screen. He taps his keyboard a few times before the familiar song starts blasting through his speakers. Then, he leans back on his chair and stares at me closely. “What?” I ask, knowing that my eyes are wide and that I look, in all probability, like a deer caught in headlights. “Dance. Drink.” He moves one of the full shot glasses across the desk and in my direction, some of the liquid spilling over the expensive oak. “That’s what you’re here for, no?” Amazon US : http://amzn.to/2bBl1i3 Amazon UK : http://amzn.to/2bsyKWR Amazon CA : http://amzn.to/2bL1meN Amazon AU : http://amzn.to/2bjRWEz ![]() I love you the most, Carian Cole you melted my heart with Torn.
