Temptation. It’s a powerful thing.
It possesses you. Corrupts you. Turns a pure soul into a reckless beast.
Once it has you in its clutches, you can’t escape it. It won’t let go, not until it perverts everything innocent.
The day she walked into my life, I should have known I’d never be the same again. Her secrets lured me in, enticed me with truths that would be my ultimate ruin.
I had a war to win. Battles to fight. But her scent turned me into a crazed hunter, manipulating me down a different path of destruction.
In the end, she will be my downfall.
Until then…I’ll keep her.

Oh wow, DERANGED was so hot, sexy and addictive I loved it!!
DERANGED is action packed, the heat was definitely turned up in Onyx and Wraith's story.
I have to say even though I loved the previous books in the series with the American street Kings president Granit, his brother Onyx heated it up on the sexy, alpha male scales, he was hot! swoon-worthy and I absolutely love a woman with backbone something Wraith had in abundance.
When a mysterious Harley riding woman walks into a bar, sexy, attractive, covered in tat's, she attracts a whole lot of attention. It was definitely lust at first sight for Onyx and something in him felt pulled towards her and protective of her despite her sass.
No sooner had she appeared, she' was gone and the mystery woman who keeps turning up like a vision becomes like mystery for Onyx to solve.
Behind the brewing romance there also simmers trouble for the cub with Slither still causing problems. DERANGED is a brilliantly balanced read, I just did not want to put this book down there was always something holding my interest, it was gripping, intense, with danger, angst, revenge, twists and turns, bloodshed and MC wars, I absolutely loved it and I definitely can't wait for more in this series.
Izzy Moffit is finally free from her toxic parents, and she’s vowing to only take care of those who care for her from now on, especially her best friend Paris Hemsworth—the only strength and support she’s ever known.
But a mistreated heart is always the softest, and Izzy can’t keep people out for long. Before she realises it, Izzy is losing her way again, and she soon begins to understand that not all villains look like monsters.
Some offer themselves as lovers; others as friends.
The battles she thought she’d left behind have only just begun…
The only thing that can save her now is an unexpected hero, and he seems to take on many different forms throughout her life until, one day, he shows up at her front door, ready to save the day, her future, and most importantly:
Different, Entertaining, I liked Izzy Moffitt's journey.
This is very different from any romance books I have read before, Izzy's journey is almost like a love affair with her best friend Paris. A journey of how they grow together as children, become one another's anchor through times of trouble and then there are the teenage years which all lead to College years and later through circumstances they are separated which leads to Izzy then drifting through life making one mistake after another, all the while pining for and missing her best friend like she is her missing soulmate, a piece of her she can't live without and can't function without.
I enjoyed the Izzy Moffitt life adventure with its many ups and downs, more downs than ups but enjoyable all the same. Izzy's story spans from her young life with her abusive father to her late twenties where she eventually finds peace and hopefully love.
The latter end of this book from about 80% is when she meets Ethan, it's like the stars align and I thought finally, YES!! and I could not get enough of this, I was finally loving the romance element of Izzy's story which I then discovered continues in Ethan's book which is book 3 in this series. I was disappointed, the romance lover in me wanted the hea. It became like a book of two halves and I desperately want more of the latter half.
I love the build-up in a romance, the getting to know you stages, the chase, I'm not sure now Izzy and Ethan have already discovered each other and met in this book I will get what I love in a romance read, but I suppose will have to see. I certainly want to see if Izzy has finally found her other soulmate and I definitely want to read Paris's own story, what happened to her through the missing years?, I can see this becoming an addictive series.
One girl's life journey, a story of friendship, growth, mistakes, and regrets and hopefully happily ever afters.
All books in this series are available in KU or can be snapped up for a bargain price hallelujah, let the adventure begin.

“Do you want to take me?”
That's what she said to me after she stepped out of the pool, skin dripping wet, her body on display to tempt me.
A simple babysitting job—that's all it was meant to be. Show her some element of the life she'd been kept from. But she couldn’t keep her pretty mouth shut when I showed her what she asked me for, and I couldn't keep my damned eyes off her.
Sofia Vico was the one woman no one touched. Forbidden.
I should have stayed away. Should have done as Quinn asked and kept her safe. But I crossed the line and broke the rules.
“The things I could show you.“
This started out as an act of defiance against my father—a way to finally fill in the blanks I’d lived with my whole life. But the doors to the cage I'd been kept in had suddenly been flung wide open, and I wasn’t ready for the truth waiting for me. Or for Carter Wade.
He was my saviour in the dark, muddied underworld I knew nothing of. A man with skills that both frightened and aroused me. And if I thought scars and guns were the worst I’d have to face, I was wrong. Murder, kidnapping, and a family torn in two was our consequence. Yet he still risked everything, including his life. For me.

Forbidden Eyes, A Cane Novel #4
Gripping, intense, addictive, I just could not put this book down!
Forbidden Eyes is Sofia Vico's story, the sheltered daughter of Benjamin Vico and Hope from the previous book in the series. I read the first book in this series and found it a little too dark for me and I haven't read the previous book before this and after reading about Benjamin Vico in this book, damn, I am sore torn, I really don't like Benjamin Vico at all, he's dark, cruel, he's not just an overbearing protective father, he is so much more, a criminal, and evil to the core. Sofia has no idea who her father is, she has no idea of the kind of business her father is involved in, she hasn't seen the side of him that make men fear him until she does, until her eyes are opened, and that's a pivotal point in Sofia's life.
Sofia has been a sheltered young woman with no close friends, she studies and that's basically her life. Sofia is like a caged bird, a nineteen year old young woman with clipped wings.
Curiosity kills the cat as they say and after being ordered to stay home by her father when she had been looking forward to a party, she rebels, runs away and goes to stay with her uncle Quinn who is her mothers brother. Sofia want's answers, she wants to know why men fear her father, she wants to know who she is. Sofia didn't expect to find out what she does and in the process meets Carter Wade.
Carter Wade was taken in by Quinn Cane when he was a young boy, he now works for Quinn and is like his right hand man, he runs the casino businesses and more. He's feared among men, he's alluring, sexy and dangerous.
"There aren't any rainbows here Fia. I'm not that kind of man. You want sweetheart ideals, you'll have to go look elsewhere"
Sofia never expected to fall for a man so similar to what she was running away from but she does. Carter is hot, sexy, but he is nothing like the other men in this series, he's caring and so swoon-worthy, with a dark edge to him that begins to soften when he meets Sofia.
All hell breaks lose when Benjamin Vico discovers his daughters innocence has been ruined by Carter Wade. There is an all out war between the families who were once allies. Wow, it was like a dark Romeo and Juliet.
A brilliantly balanced plot and a great collaboration with these two authors. I was hooked from the first pages and the whirlwind of a plot gripped me to the very end.
A Mafia romance must read.sizzling hot, action packed and intense.
I finished with unanswered questions, I can't wait to see what these two authors bring next, I want more sneak peaks of Sofia and Carter and I am certainly looking forward to more from Charlotte E. Hart & Rachel De Lune.
*Can be rad as a standalone, leads to a hea.
"Girls like you aren't exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way."
Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for "troubled teens".
I didn't listen, and now I'm on their radar.
They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they've deemed me fit.
Too bad for them, I don't follow rules.
Too bad for me, they're determined to make sure I do.
Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings...these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I'm the girl who got in their way.
BOYS OF BRAYSHAW HIGH, an addictive high-school drama with lots of twists and turns
This book was similar to others I have read in this genre but also very different. Boys of Brayshaw High is about loyalty, trust, and learning to love. A bond that grows between 3 teenage boys and one girl and the sacrifices made for a family not of blood.
You are introduced in book one to how these three boys rule not just the school but the town and the girl who barges into their lives and turns everything on its head. The power three gradually becomes four.
These are four complex teenagers who have had no real adult guidance, who have grown to trust one-another in a way so no outsider can separate them. Raven Carver aka Rae, I cannot begin to sum up her character, she is hard, boyish and a tough nut who has come from a whore of a mother and put into foster care until she turns 18. Rae begins her new life at Brayshaw High which is a power struggle from day one. This is a journey for all four characters which involves mainly trust.
There is drama and angst, twists and turns, a beginning of a relationship with Rae and Maddoc aka Big man as Rae calls him and a whole lot of stuff going on that keeps you turning the pages.
I always struggle with teenagers taking on the role of adults, it comes across as unrealistic and hard to read but I was entertained and will read on in the series to see where everything goes.
This book does end on a cliffhanger and there are three books in this series.

Drafted first round pick when I was seventeen, playing first line at eighteen, branded NHL's bad boy at nineteen. At twenty-three I was cut from the team and living back home with my parents. A knock on the door brought an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. All I had to do was prove I learned from my mistakes, so no way would I fall for a chick with a pouty mouth even if I wanted to spend all day devouring it.
When my father gave me a job, I had no idea it would be to babysit some washed up NHL player. He wanted me to be his chaperone, his overpaid babysitter. I thought it was a joke. Then I met him, Matthew Grant. I wasn’t prepared for this particular bad boy. He’s not only hot but he’s arrogant and kinda sweet in a 'you make me crazy' kind of way.
Basically now that he’s finished screwing up his life, he’s decided to turn mine upside down.
She’s the first thing I’ve ever wanted more than hockey.
He’s the guy I know I should stay away from.
But what if this thing that started out so wrong turns into something so perfect?
SOMETHING SO PERFECT is the second book in the series.
If you have read the first book in the series you will know Matthew is the son of Sydney, a single mum who fell in love with Cooper Stone the hot star Hockey Player, a brilliant start to this series and I was hooked by it's hotness and drama.
This book is obviously years later, Matthew is no longer a teenager and has had his own taste of hockey player stardom which changed him from the sweet loving boy to a wild party going hockey star which then had effects on his game, leaving Matthew without a team to play for.
When he gets offered a position at a team it comes with conditions and one of them is he has to have a chaperone to keep him out of trouble. This is Matthew's big chance to make a good impression and leave his partying days behind him.
Karrie is the boss's daughter, given the task to keep an eye on Matthew. There is instant chemistry and fireworks between her and Matthew, Karrie is sassy and won't be bossed around and she is a good match for the bratty star hockey player.
I loved it, SOMETHING SO PERFECT had a good balance of hotness, drama and swoon-worthy moments. Matthew is just as protective and overbearing alpha as Cooper was, it seemed his step-father rubbed off on him.
Cooper and Sydney are also in this book along with other characters who also get their own books in this series.
I'm still hooked and looking forward to reading more in this series.
Each book can be read as a standalone, I listened to this in audio and it was brilliantly narrated, I would recommend it as either being read or listened too.

"You don't go around kissing your best friend's dad, do you?
Even though that's all you ever dream about."
Violet Moore is in love with a man who hates her.
Well, to be fair, she kinda deserves it.
On her eighteenth birthday, she got drunk and threw herself at him, causing a huge scandal in their sleepy suburban town.
Now everyone thinks she’s a slut and he has disappeared. Rumor has it that he’s been living up in the mountains of Colorado, all alone and in isolation.
But Violet is going to make it right.
She’s going to find him and bring him back.
No matter how cruel and mean he is, how much he hurts her with his cold-hearted and abrasive ways, she won’t give up.
And neither will she think about his tempting lips or his sculpted muscles or his strong hands. The hands that she wants on her body, touching her, feeling her skin…
The hands that make her want to forget everything and kiss Graham Edwards – Mr. Edwards, actually – again.
Because you don’t go around kissing your best friend’s dad, do you?
Even though that’s all you ever dream about.

Taboo, forbidden romance, age-gap romance
This review Contains spoilers
Basically this is a story of Violet who has an obsession with her next-door neighbor, not the son who she becomes friends with but the dad. Nothing wrong with that, I was happily going along with the plot at that point but future events had me cringing.
Violet was a little strange, a bit of a hermit, a young girl who was introvert and kept herself to herself by always wearing her headphones, to me this screamed mental illness, immaturity, innocence, special needs, a young girl who had no guidance in her life.
On her 18th birthday, she sneaks into the back yard of her neighbor to get some of the dead roses that Mr Edwards tends to religiously while she snoops or watches him.
She watches him, He watches her.
Both obsessed, both keep this to themselves and have done for two years.
Tonight though he has gone out, so she decides to go and get some of his dead roses to press into her diary, the diary which has contents mainly about Mr. Edwards, only he comes back early.
They kiss, they get caught by his son Brian who is also her friend and her sister who is a scheming bitch basically, so after rumors, photos all over media, they both get blacklisted by the town. Mr Edwards leaves town, sacked as the high school soccer coach and following the events Violet ends up in a psych ward.
10 months on and Violet goes to look for Mr. Edwards AKA Graham in her rehabilitation attempts to move on to just say sorry she caused so much trouble, something she hasn't been able to do with the whirlwind of events that followed "THE KISS"
I couldn't get past Violet's innocents, even after she reached 18 years of age she still spoke like a little girl, acted like a little girl, she didn't come across as mature at all and so I could not defend Graham's actions with her, the allegations of him being a perv, because basically due to Violets tenancy's and ways, her words, he did come across that way to me due to just the way Violet was, a child in an 18 year old body with a lot of maturing to do. If Violet had come across as more mature for her age I would have accepted this relationship more.
This book wasn't for me for lots of reasons
Korie Potter’s got goals. Goals that do not include following in her mother’s footsteps. Rock stars and the life of the rich and famous? Yeah… not interested. She likes her heart in one piece, thank you very much.
Until a weekend of booze and bad decisions at camp Pour Judgment finds her fake-engaged to country music’s most notorious bad boy, Rhett Taylor, and completely at his mercy.
You see, Korie Potter’s also got a dream, and her new “fiancé” just may have the connections to make it come true.
4.5 swoony stars
Oh my, I was so gone with this book once I got into it, I didn't know what to expect at first.
I wouldn't say this is a Rom-com but it certainly had some banter and light-hearted moments.
I was hooked from the first pages, Rhett who is a star county singer in a band, first meets Korie Potter when she walks in on him basically getting a blowie from a groupie after a concert, she is the cousin of his band mate and this is their first time meeting.
Korie hates singers, celebs, any male species basically who reminds her of her father who was also a singer and left her and her mother for a life of fame, booze and women.
Rhett reminds her of all the reasons why she stayed away from her cousin and his lifestyle after seeing what she walks in on after the concert.
Rhett is completely smitten, a love at first sight kind of moment happens, with Korie's sass, sarcasm and snark, he finds her refreshing from all the other women who would normally fall at his feet and he makes it his mission to prove he is nothing like her father.
Rhett is so swoon worthy, a little cocky in an adorable way and he tries so damn hard to get his girl which eventually pays off and Poor Judgment becomes a heartwarming romance with lots of sweet moment's.
I loved Korie's friend too, that girl was a hoot.
Brilliant, I loved it and highly recommend it.
No cheating, told in first person dual pov and leads to heartwarming hea.
The moment everything changed didn’t happen in that cliché rockets-red-glare kind of way, it happened in the form of a waking nightmare. I caught my husband, my high-school sweetheart, the father of my children, balls deep in a sordid affair.
That was when I gave up on men and love.
I didn’t count on the NHL’s golden boy, the beautiful, arrogant Cooper Stone turning my life and my hockey rink upside down.
My kids are why I wake up in the morning.
Hockey is what Cooper breathes for.
We’re from different worlds and places in our lives but when our hearts collided something so wrong and different turned into something so right.

I'm late to the party with this series due to it being released in 2016 but, hot damn!, it's one series I will definitely be following.
Cooper Stone is all kinds of hot, he's bossy, demanding and gets what he wants, he's the golden boy of hockey.
Sydney is a single mum who has been burned before in a relationship after she discovered her husband had been cheating on her. Sydney is an independent woman who works at the ice rink her dad owns.
Sydney and Cooper first meet when she is his rehab trainer following an injury. The fireworks go off when they first meet but not in a good way, Sydney is not the kind of woman who will take being told what to do.
There is instant chemistry between the two and it's explosive. Cooper is hot, possessive and swoon-worthy at the same time.
SOMETHING SO RIGHT is a sizzling hot read, these two are seriously magnetic to each other and I love it.
If you love bossy alpha hero's, lots of sexy times and a good plot then this is for you.
I listened to this on audio and it was brilliantly narrated so those hot scenes, damn, *fans self down
Mike Murphy is the new cop in Town.
He makes me crazy in all the right ways.
So crazy that I lose my filter around him, not to mention my ability to function like a normal person.
The attraction between us is undeniable and something we can't ignore.
But there's a secret that threatens to come between us. When we uncover more than we should, things become dangerous.
Will we be able to walk away, or will the quest to find the truth be too tempting?
Not what I expected at all, not from the blurb, not from the cover, I was surprised.
The main characters meet fairly early on in the book and there's instant chemistry.
Sydney is moving back to her childhood town of Salem following her Grandfathers death and intends on taking over his practice as a vet. On her first night home Sydney meets Mike who is the town cop. Mike is keeping an eye out on her Grandfathers place while it's empty.
There's a rom-com feel at this point in the story and I loved how it was going, Sydney had no mouth filter when nervous and she was all kinds of all over the place whenever Mike was around, she was funny and Mike is all kinds of swoon.
The two become an item quite quickly and after receiving a note and a coin from her Grandfather in his will which is mysterious and like a historic treasure hunt of sorts they both begin a journey together.
This story was quite unique and anyone who loves a mysterious kind of plot would love this book, it had a lot of interesting content and exciting moments, a trail of hidden secret messages and clues that Sydney and Mike follow, however, it wasn't for me, I was bored and I kept losing interest.
There are hot moments, funny moments which I loved but the whole Nancy Drew or Agatha Christy thing it had going on isn't my kind of thing. Three days it took me to read it and I'm the sort of reader who gobbles a book up in one sitting normally.
Not for me but it doesn't mean it's not for you.

There are three things you need to know about Ashley Winston: 1) She has six brothers and they all have beards, 2) She is a reader, and 3) She knows how to knit.
Former beauty queen, Ashley Winston’s preferred coping strategy is escapism. She escaped her Tennessee small town, loathsome father, and six brothers eight years ago. Now she escapes life daily via her one-click addiction. However, when a family tragedy forces her to return home, Ashley can’t escape the notice of Drew Runous—local Game Warden, bear wrestler, philosopher, and everyone’s favorite guy. Drew’s irksome philosophizing in particular makes Ashley want to run for the skyscrapers, especially since he can’t seem to keep his exasperating opinions— or his soulful poetry, steadfast support, and delightful hands— to himself.
Pretty soon the girl who wanted nothing more than the escape of the big city finds she’s lost her heart in small town Tennessee.
Beauty and the Mustache is book #4 in the Knitting in the City series, and book #0.5 in the Winston Brothers series. Each book is a standalone, full length (110k words), contemporary romantic comedy novel, and follows the misadventures and exploits of seven friends in Chicago, all members of the same knitting group.
Catch up on the series here: http://pennyreid.ninja/audiobooks/
Drew is poetry in motion
THIS BOOK IS BLOODY AWESOME. Penny Reid's words sometimes blow me away.
I laughed hard, felt the sad times and swooned so much from Drew's words.
I was immediately hooked on this book, I was laughing from the first chapter and had plenty of giggles throughout. Beauty and the Mustache is a brilliantly balanced heartwarming story with humor in the mix.
The rabid raccoon scene, oh boy, days, weeks on now after listening to that scene and I still laugh at it, I think I told everyone at work about that part which had them laughing too.
I listened to this on audio and boy did the narrator make this feel real, the southern drawl and the characters, she really did them justice, at times it was like I was right there with the characters.
This book can be read as a standalone, has a perfect balance of humor and emotion. I loved it and would definitely read or listen more, especially the Winston brothers I love them already and have only had snippets of them. I feel like I am late to the party with this series and have so much to catch up on, and I want to devour the Winston brothers.
Every woman deserves a Drew in their lives, he's a new BBF of my shelf for sure.
She didn’t believe in fairy tales… until she fell for a prince.
Single mother, Leia Lawrence didn't have a storybook childhood.
Now? Dating… men…? She’d rather stay in her tower of solitude.
Until her path crosses with the heir to the British throne.
He should be the bad boy the press portray him as.
He should be as arrogant as the rich elites she despises.
He should be easy to walk away from.
Oh, boy, he isn’t.
Oliver is nothing like the man she expects. Smart, funny and caring, he could push through every defence she has in place.
But one passing moment could change everything. It could bring the press to her door and unbury secrets she thinks are long dead.
What will he be willing to do to protect her?
She has nowhere left to turn, except to her prince.
The only thing she can do is wait and see if he’ll choose to protect his country… or her
Not all Cinderella's want to go to the ball and not all prince charming's get to rescue their chosen Princess, especially ones who don't want to be rescued.
Tabloid Princess is a rag's to riches story or it has the potential to be. A British Royal modern romance, set in the UK.
Leia Lawrence has spent the last seven years protecting herself from a traumatic childhood, Leia dedicates her life helping those less fortunate, hoping to give someone a chance for a fresh start just like someone once helped her.
Leia isn't looking for love, she isn't a dreamer or a woman on a mission to find true love, Leia is just a young woman happy to be alive with food on the table and a roof over her head. Leia spends all her time with her daughter when she isn't working at the charity organization, the same organization that once helped her, she is content with life and not looking for anything more, until her path crosses with the heir to the throne.
Prince Oliver is approaching his 30th birthday and is looking for a charity to promote, he wants to help those less fortunate and get out into the world be among his people, this brings him to the workplace of Leia.
Leia hates anything pompous, she isn't exactly a Royal fan so when Leia and Prince Oliver first meet it's not exactly the greeting prince Oliver usually gets.
Oliver is immediately attracted to Leia, he finds her refreshing, basically, she doesn't kiss ass and he likes that about her.
I loved the development in Leia and Oliver's relationship, the slow-burn, the swoon-worthy hotness of Oliver, the push and pull, the content was definitely a page-turner.
Tabloid Princess has the same feel as Tears Of Ink from Anna Bloom so if you have read that and loved it then you will definitely enjoy this royal Romance. This isn't a standalone, it doesn't finish with a major cliffhanger either but It does leave you wanting a heartwarming hea, the rags to riches story and more swoon from Oliver but there are a lot of hurdles to overcome before these two characters get there and I am looking forward to it.
Tabloid Princess is told in first person dual pov and the characters story continued in book 2

A BRILLIANT EXAMPLE OF A FRENEMIE'S TO LOVERS ROMANCE.
Piper is a wedding planner she loves to send the bride and groom off on their dream life together, making their special day magical.
Zach is a single widower, a divorce lawyer, he's a shark in the court room and although at the beginning of this book he is happy and in love, he is also a realist and puts the mockers on Piper's wedding couples by predicting how long they will last, he knows real love when he sees it, he is good at studying people, except for himself.
Zach and Piper do not get on, they have known each other years, have the same circle of friends but they are so mismatched when it comes to work and views but they do work in the same building sharing the same floor so avoiding each other is impossible.
Zach has two children and his oldest girl adores Piper and whenever she is at her daddy's office she goes over to see Piper, maybe its her Barbie type room and all the fun stuff she has in comparison to her daddy's boring office but Zach's daughter adores Piper, she's the bees knees, Zach doesn't think so until it's like he has an epiphany and starts to get feelings towards Piper he hasn't had before and the feelings become more intense when they are thrust together as Best an and maid of honour at their friends wedding pre-nuptials.
NEVER HAVE I EVER is a feel good romance, I liked how the author didn't focus on Zach's previous wife and marriage and kept it light. Never have I ever is fun and hot in all the right places with plenty of laugh out loud moments. Overall it's a great balanced out read that keeps you turning the pages.
Leads to a hea and told in first person dual pov.
It started out like any normal day.
Then the fender bender happened.
The guy I collided with drove an expensive car and was drop-dead gorgeous. Too bad he was also a total jerk. We argued over whose fault it was and any other thing that came out of his condescending mouth.
Eventually, the police came and we went our separate ways. The insurance companies would have to figure things out. I had a job interview to get to anyway—one I was excited about.
Though that excitement changed to disappointment the moment the person interviewing me walked in. The guy from the accident.
Yeah, so I didn’t get the position.
The problem was, I really wanted it. No, I needed it. Anything to get me out of my current career and back into working with kids.
So, even though Hollis LaCroix was as intimidating as he was devastatingly handsome, I went back to see him and begged for a chance.
To my surprise, he gave me a shot taking care of his troubled niece.
At least my attraction to him wouldn’t be able to go anywhere. I wasn’t about to jeopardize my job or the strong bond Hailey and I formed.
But resisting the magnetic pull between us wasn’t that simple. (Then there was our little underwear game—don’t ask.)
We continued to flirt without crossing the line—until it finally happened.
This is the part of the story where we fall in love and live happily ever after, right?
Well, life has a way of throwing some major curveballs.
Ours was one I didn’t see coming.

Park Avenue Player by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland was yet another read by these two authors I could not get enough of! I adore these two authors writing who seem to know just what I want and need from my romance read.
PARK AVENUE PLAYER is fun, flirty, had a female character with sass and backbone which I love and a bossy Alpha who is a bit on the arrogant side.
Hollis & Elodie have their first encounter when they have a little car accident on a car park, Elodie is late for an interview and Hollis claims he has an appointment. Hollis meets Elodie again when he discovers she is the person he is supposed to be interviewing for the nanny position to his niece, who he has custody of, this scenario isn't new for me, I have read books before with this sort of start to a relationship but it's the after, the sass and determination of Elodie who obviously didn't get the job at first and the events that followed that made this different, and I book I couldn't get enough of.
Elodie and Hollis had chemistry, passion, I enjoyed the push and pull and there was even a surprising twist in this story that I didn't see coming, it was a twist that had me all kinds of confused and I actually felt hurt for Elodie, it was actually a heartbreaking moment.
PARK AVENUE PLAYER is told in first person dual pov and leads to a hea. I listened to this in audio and as always the narrators Sebastian York and Andi Arndt who normally narrate for Vi and Penelope's books really made this story more believable, more real. more enjoyable than actually reading the book.
Another amazing story by this amazing writing duo!

An explosive and epic love story set in the gritty world of the Storm MC..
I tried not to look at her.
I tried not to want her.
I tried not to love her.
But she won this war of hearts and now I'm a man on my knees.
This love may kill me.
My president will see to that.
No one touches his daughter.
He's removed me from her life.
He's sent me to hell where every day is a bloodbath.
If he thinks he's won, he's wrong.
Every battle is won before it's fought and she won this battle a long time ago.
I surrendered in our war of hearts and now I'll fight to the death for my queen
A forbidden MC Romance, what a dilemma when you fall for the Pres's daughter!.
WAR OF HEARTS is a book of two halves, the first being a young Zara who has fallen for one of her stepfathers men Fury.
Fury is given responsibility to look out for Zara following a threat and the two become close. Like all bikers in this series Fury is one sexy alpha, bossy with a cool demeanor and even though he tries to fight off his attraction towards Zara he fails and they become closer. Just when you think Zara and Fury are getting somewhere the plot takes a huge twist and turn, the story then has a huge time-gap jumping to a few years later.
I love this series, Nina writes bloody good MC, giving you everything you need in the plot to keep you turning the pages and I was loving Fury but I was so unhappy with the turn of events, with Fury's decision and I became very frustrated with his character. That was it for me, I wasn't interested anymore, talk about a moody reader but that was it, done.
All in all I finished, I eventually got the ending I wanted but I just never felt the same towards Fury in the second half of this book.
Looking forward to the next book in the series and hopefully this character wont piss me off.
Life had never been simple for Miki Quinten. Her mom had died when she was eight, and in the aftermath of their loss, her father turned his grief into alcoholism, inadvertently converting their home into a melting pot of debauchery. Unwilling to be put into the foster system, Miki takes control of her own life and becomes invisible to almost everyone but her best friend and godmother.
It stayed that way until her junior year in high school and the sudden, unexpected crash landing of Childress High’s star defensive end, Dustin Hill, into her life. The unlikely pair are thrown together and discover they have more in common than either of them thought, and before either Miki or Dustin are prepared an unbreakable bond is formed between them. The only problem is, Dustin’s already in a relationship, and his controlling family have made it clear they want him to stay there.
Against Miki’s better judgment the two grow closer until fate’s twisted sense of humor intervenes and everything in Miki’s world is scattered, plunging her into a crisis she’s not sure she will ever recover from.

"there’s a preordained path we all take.”
There are books that stick with me long after the last page and there have been other books along my reading journey that broke my heart only to then put it back together but A Shot in the dark by L.J. Stock, I just have no words for this book that I finished in awe, I'm still processing, I'm still seeing scenes play over in my mind and the whispering of words still trailing through thoughts from this beautifully written book. 💕
A fateful meeting, a high school romance, a secret romance, Miki Quinten ventured into the romance of a lifetime in secret with the high-school superstar, secret places only they knew about, stolen brushes of hands and secret kisses until it all went terribly wrong, one moment changed her life forever but out of it came a beautiful story of first love.
"I wasn’t totally blind or delusional. I had noticed the secrecy that Dustin was establishing our friendship on. I was being hidden away like an enigma, a little secret that was bordering on dirty for the high school football star".
"One night. One night with this guy was all it took for me to see the world in a whole new set of colors."
Real, raw, moving, emotional, many words stand out throughout Miki's story but tragic is the one that stands out the most.
A tragic upbringing, a tragic childhood then-teenage relationship with her father, a tragic love story. Two real loves in one lifetime, this is where it was real, the raw was dealing with the pain and having to go on when your world feels like it just ended, moving, there are so many emotions I felt for Miki and so many times I admired her ability to get back up after being knocked down and the strength she had of a girl who had pretty much brought herself up.
A book of two halves, second chances, a character who's own heart became two halves until it became whole again, but not without a fight, not without healing and even then years had passed.
You need to go into this blind, I tried so hard with my review not to add spoilers with regards to the plot, you need to feed on the words and feel the emotions, look at this in color.
This was my first stand-alone book by this author and it won't be my last, I did finish with a contented and happy sigh, but the journey, I must use the quote from the Lock stock and two smoking barrels "It's been emotional"
“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart”
― Helen Keller
Totally recommended read. Thank you to those who recommended it to me this is one that will stick
Romantic Times 2016 Reviewers' Choice WINNER for Best New Adult Book of the Year
I wanted to tell him all my secrets, but he became one of them instead.
Chloe Rivers never thought she would keep secrets from her best friend. Then again, she never imagined she would fall in love with him either. When she finally reveals her feelings, rejection shatters her, rendering her vulnerable and sending her straight into the destructive arms of the wrong guy.
Gavin Rhodes never saw the betrayal coming. It crushes him. Chloe has always been his forbidden fantasy--sweet, tempting, and beautiful. But when the opportunity finally presents itself, he makes the biggest mistake of all and denies her.
Now it's too late . . .
Four years after a devastating tragedy, Chloe and Gavin find themselves crashing back into each other's lives. Haunted by the past, they're forced to come to terms with all that has transpired to find the peace they deserve. Except they can't seem to get near each other without combatting an intense emotional connection that brings them right back to where it all started . . . their childhood treehouse.
Chloe still holds her secrets close, but this time she isn't the only one with something to hide. Can their deep-rooted connection survive the destruction of innocence?
Up in the Tree house was my first book by KK Allen and I am sure it won't be my last.
Chloe Rivers first meets twin boys Gavin and Devon when they move in next door to Chloe and they all became childhood friends. The tree house was somewhere they spent all their time and it later held so many heartwarming and heartbreaking memories. Gavin was Chloe's protector while Devon was a bit of a loose cannon especially when they reached high school age. They were a close group of friends with a strong bond until things began to change and Chloe started dating Devon in high-school.
Later in the story there is an accident of sorts and something traumatic happens that has Chloe fleeing and moving away. Without adding spoilers the story then moves to Chloe's return 4 years later.
There is so much heartwarming moments in this book and angst that I didn't expect.
A story about love and loss, friendships, trust, forgiveness, regrets, healing of hearts and mostly second chances, UP IN THE TREE HOUSE is a journey.
A beautiful story that I really enjoyed. I listened to this on audio and could not wait to return back to it after each time I had to put it down. This is definitely a Sunday read, one of those books were you lock yourself away on your day off and just immerse the story and enjoy.
TOLD IN FIRST PERSON POV AND LEADS TO HEA. AVAILABLE IN KU AND AUDIO.
Let me ask you a question:
If someone is vying for your spot on a team and just so happens to injure you during practice, would you believe it was on purpose?
Word around campus is . . . it was no accident.
That injury has cost me everything; my starting position, my junior year—and the draft. Now, I’m a senior fresh off recovery, struggling to find my groove, until the day I run into a nervous, fidgety, girl with freckles, in the dining hall.
They call Milly Potter The Baseball Whisperer, The Diamond Wizard, and The Epitome of All Knowledge. She believes in baseball. She breathes it. She’s the queen of an infamous dynasty, but no one actually knows who she really is, and she plans to keep it that way.
One mishap in the panini line, one miscommunication in the weight room, and many failed attempts at an apology equal up to one solid truth -- Milly Potter never wants to speak to me again -- no matter how good my forearms look.
Little do we both know, she’s about to become more than just my fairy ballmother.

I absolutely adored this book!!
Another book in this series I could not put down.
The Dugout begins with Carson Stone, a baseball star on his journey to being drafted until an injury strikes and he becomes the damaged Alpha Hero with a big chip on his shoulder, baseball is Carson's dream, his life and within seconds the path he was on suddenly changed, he was left recovering and still in college baseball when his other teammates began to move on to bigger things.
Milly, I absolutely loved her, she's got baseball in her blood, her brothers played, her dad's a big fan, she teaches little league and she is not only a ball-buster who knows her stuff but she's a nerdy-looking intelligent young woman who is also sassy, she was fabulous.
I loved the slow burn in The Dugout, the getting to know you stages, the swoon moments. I would totally recommend this heartwarming, funny romantic comedy.
I can't wait for more, Milly's brother gave me major swoons too, I am looking forward to whatever Meghan Quinn brings next in this baseball series.
Declan: I was born into this world. I am what it made me. I do things that others find disgusting. I broke many rules when I met Brooke. She showed up one night and I took advantage of that. When she kept coming back, I knew there was more to her. One fucking day changed it all. One secret from my past blew our relationship out of the water.
Brooke: Loss was all I knew. It creeps around every corner. One dare. That’s all it took. The night I met Declan, I was on the high of my life. I felt safe with him. Little did I know; his secrets were also mine. When his past is revealed, I lose it. The man he claimed to be was a man I’d known all my life.

My first book by this author and being a lover of MC and this book currently being a freebie, I thought why not discover a new to me author.
I enjoyed it, DECLAN contained all I enjoy in an MC romance, sassy heroine, an Alpha male domineering character, club business, action and angst, a family type of MC and the romance leads to plenty of hotness and a hea.
Some things within the plot made me stop and second guess what I was reading, one being when Declan and Brooke first meet early on in the book, basically Brooke is at her friends house who lives across the road, they are having a girly night and she is dared to go to the biker compound at the top of the street and ask for a beer. The club house is obviously having a party with the music blaring from it and when Brooke does go to the gates she is confronted by the VP of the club Declan, they get it on quite quick? like up against a wall sort of thing then before you know it, it's like OK now I'll just go then, thanks for the orgasm?. Also, how has Brooke never passed any bikers before or know any of them when the compound is at the top of the street? Brooke went from a strong sassy character, to quickly going way down on my estimation of her character in that first scene with Declan, probably just as quick as her orgasm was.
A story of fate, acceptance and finding that one true soul mate.
I had a few issues with the plot in this book but as I have stated it was an OK MC romance and I would definitely give this authors books another go as other characters did pique my interest.
His eyes have the power to undo all the hurt caused by my family.
“Don’t let them see you cry.”
After months of refusing I finally agree to move to America, where my fiancé’s waiting for me.
Just like my mother, an arranged marriage lies in my near future.
Just like my mother, I’m probably going to be shoved aside in a couple of years after providing the Cutler family with an heir.
Being a Korean girl from a culture that’s very different from the west, it makes me stand out like a sore thumb. There’s nothing I can do but to accept the fate arranged by my father and his mistress. My marriage to Lake Cutler will be a business deal and nothing else.
My plan is simple.
Make him hate me enough to break off the engagement, so I can return to Korea.
But I didn’t account for those caring brown eyes.
What started as a mission to save myself from an unhappy arranged marriage soon turns into a battle to not lose my heart.
I dare him to walk away, but instead, he shows me any bridge can be crossed.
This is Book 3 in The Trinity Academy Series.
All 3 books are interconnected, and some plots have been carried over from the previous 2 books in this series.
What a perfect and addictive series. I loved the friendship dynamic between these three guys and as the books interlinked also the relationships between the girls.
When I started reading Trinity academy I was given the impression, these were three guys who ruled the school, guys who weren't to be messed with, guys with power and knew they were untouchable and I was all kinds of excited for this kind of angsty college series with obviously romance along the way.
Trinity Academy wasn't at all what I thought, I got to see the guys behind the persona people had built up of them and when it moved into Mason's story it became so much more and I was taken by surprise in this turn. Then we get to lakes story was all kinds of swoon.
Lake has been expecting an arranged marriage for a few years, on behalf of a merger with his company, which is all part of a huge business deal. Lake is the easy-going one of the three guys, he's the one the girls mess around with and chat with, he's either one of the guys or one of the girls, he's such an easy-going laid back guy, so it's no surprise he's the one that sacrificed himself out of the three of them to take one for the team and also sacrifice himself.
Lee is a Korean girl who has been told by her father whom she has never met because he lives with his mistress that she must marry lake or he will make her mother suffer financially, basically ruin her and Lee loves her mother dearly. The two of them have shared a tiny room, they are so poor but are so close that you are given the impression only love some days kept their hearts warm, happy and content. For Lee and her mother it has always been a struggle but Lee is willing to do anything even sacrifice herself for her mother.
I loved Lee, the blurb gives the wrong impression of her, she is sweet from day one when she first meets lake? Lee is the kind of girl who you just want to find happiness and her prince charming, she deserved a better father, a better upbringing, a better life and she so deserved to find a guy like Lake.
I was really looking forward to this story and it did not disappoint. It's always bittersweet reading the last book in a series and I still want more and didn't want to let go of these characters including side characters who had piqued my interest.
Recommended College romance series. Told in first person dual pov and each book leads to a hea.
This is an interconnected series so I would recommend starting with the first book Falcon.
From Wall Street Journal & USA Bestselling Author M. Robinson. A coming of age, enemies to lovers, contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels.
I couldn’t remember a time before her... Harley Jameson.
Before she owned me.
Before I hated her…
Things were simple.
We had an understanding.
Bully. Fight. Hate. It’s what we did.
Mind. Body. Soul. It’s how we loved.
I thought nothing would ever change that, until everything did.
She was mine.
Always had been.
Always would be.
Nothing altered that.
Not how much I hated her.
Not how much she hated me.
Especially, not how much I hated…
That I LOVED her.
Enemies to lovers?, oh no, this is just hate and more hate. I loved it!
Two kids that have grown up together, they fight, they argue, they write hate notes to each other. Jackson picks on Harley and of course being the daughter of Creed from the book Road to nowhere, my favourite book of this authors, she obviously and because she's Creeds daughter, gives it back harder, her daddy taught her well.
The whole plot takes you from Harley and Jackson as young children to the age of 15 and 16, it's a journey and I feel like I am only just dipping my toe into the ripples of what's to come.
I'm a huge fan of M Robinson, so to go to the next generation and have more from The good o'l boys is a delight, although they are always in one of M Robinson's books one way or another, I love the way the Author interlinks in a way so you can sometimes get a glimpse of favorite or familiar characters.
Harley is Creeds daughter and Jackson is the troubled teen with a huge attitude we read about in The Pierced hearts duet, Dr Pierce is a friend of the MC, attended the MC gatherings and all their families over the years became close including the children, in Harley and Jackson's case too close to be safe around each other without a fight.
I am so excited for book 2 in this duet, I just felt the whole thing just building and building and I am so looking forward to more from Jackson and Harley. I hope it carries on and doesn't jump to years later in their lives but I suppose we will have to see.
Hated you then can be read as a standalone, has a young adult feel to it, contains humor, heartfelt moments, has no sex scenes (yet? ) but contains plenty of bully angst and drama.
Another M Robinson book I couldn't put down and I am eagerly awaiting the conclusion.
