He deserved praise. He deserved worship. Emma wanted to be his disciple.
"I've been alone in the dark for so long, I actually thought I was the only person who could exist within it"
Church, this really is a hard one to review the characters are complicated, the plot is complicated the feel is dark and psychological.
Two young people living in the same house following the marriage of their parents making them step-siblings.
Two people with dark thoughts and Two wrongs making a right in their own messed up way.
Church is one of those books were you try to figure the characters out, I was searching for clues and words to figure out how things may go with Emma and Church but Stylo Fantome has written Church cleverly and brilliantly so as a reader you are constantly trying to unravel something in your thoughts to figure the characters out.
Emma is easier to read with her obsessive tendencies, personality disorder, depression and self-harm amongst other lists of mental health and her history of abuse.
Church is a harder code to crack.
Church is part one of a duet which I didn't know prior to reading and it does finish on a cliffhanger.
Told in third person.
Would I read book 2? Curiosity may take me there but I honestly thought it was enough for me and I am sitting on the fence.
If you like dark reads, complex characters and psychological thrillers with a messed up romance in the mix this may be the book for you.
