3.5 my Sparrow stars.
My first book by this author. I love MC and I have read a lot in all their beautiful colours from dark to rainbows.
Clipped wings contains a lot of sex, violence and cringe worthy scenes so it's definitely not in my rainbows category but also very typical for an MC read.
Dom definitely lives up to his name, he's alpha and dominant, he basically takes claim of Erika at first sight and she is it then for him.
Basically Erika lives with her sister and drug using mother. struggling financially her sister has handed the house over to the MC so they can live there rent free but this comes with the price of the MC being able to use it whenever they please and it becomes an unsafe environment for Erika who seemed to be the sensible one in the family but also too young to move out.
In a nutshell It goes from a somewhat family home to a drug, alcohol and sex fest environment.
I did struggle with a few things, for example when Dom does claim Erika as his, Erika's own life was no more, he stopped her going to school, cut her off from others, red flags went up but at the same time he rescued her from the dangerous situation she was living in and surrounded by.
An 18 year old girl who falls for older guy/biker who becomes her knight in leather.
It was ok, the plot was enjoyable but not overly stimulating, a huge part of the book was sex.
Danger, greed, lies and corruption are within the MC Dom had grown up with and loves but Dom has to make decisions to protect his girl.
I did enjoy the end and it left me with higher hopes from Dom and Erika and I would give another book in the series a try based on the other mc they move too to start over, it seemed more of a family mc, I had a better feeling about that.
