![]() As Darby Dixon sits in a tiny Texas church bathroom on her wedding day holding a positive pregnancy test, she realizes that of all the bad decisions she's made in her life, marrying her abusive fiancé would be the worst. She's never been able to stand up for herself, but she'll sure as hell stand up for her baby. With just the cash she has on hand, she runs to get a bus ticket to the farthest place she can afford. Between her sheer grit and pageant-queen smile, she lands a job as a front desk clerk at the Colorado Springs Hotel. It's not a glamorous life, but she and her baby are all that matters. A former Marine, Scott "Trex" Trexler has worked in the most dangerous, corrupt, war-torn places on earth. Now he finally has a chance to return to the last place he'd felt at peace--Colorado Springs, Colorado, to take a new job with the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, a top-secret military installation buried deep within the granite. The moment Trex walks into the inn, Darby knows he's dangerous. There's no way she wants to get involved with another man who seems to be keeping way too many secrets. As charming and devastatingly gorgeous as Trex is, he clearly isn't telling her everything. But as wildfires rage on the mountain and Darby's ex-fiancé shows he isn't so willing to let her go, both she and Trex are soon to find out that what you don't know absolutely can hurt you. ![]() A RUNAWAY BRIDE AD A SWOON-WORTHY SAVIOR From here to you is an interesting story with a run away bride and a Guy who has waited his whole life for the one and finally he finds her. I have mixed feelings for this book, the blurb tells you way to much about what is going to happen in the plot so there are no surprises there. Darby flees her abusive husband to be with the help from a friend and settles into a hotel were she begins to work on reception and is taken under the wing of her boss and hotel owner who also gives her room and board. Trex is ex military and is starting a new job at the facility up in the mountains in a top secret position. Darby's ex is military so she has sworn off men in uniform, even all the fire fighters known as the hot holes that are in town and hit on her don't even turn her head but Trex has been waiting for a certain woman all his life claiming when he see's her he will know and that someone is Darby. A slow burn at first Trex has to work for Darby's affection and trust but he is persistent. Trex becomes Darby's new savoir, her comfort when she has fears about being a mother or if her ex will find her, Trex is the perfect kind of guy and Darby is lucky to find him but there is still a lot of push and pull at times due to Darby's insecurity's. There are characters from previous books in this story, Taylor and Tylor Maddox who are firefighters/hot holes, staying at the same hotel as Trex and I thought there was a little two much of them, it had me confused because I haven't read their stories, I don't know what has gone on with them or what has happened in their lives or what the connection was with Trex so I would say this book could be read as a standalone but reading previous books would be helpful, many times I just felt like I was missing something or questioning if I had missed something but only when there were other characters in the scene and I was trying to connect the dots. In summary FROM HERE TO YOU is a story or new beginnings, finding your one true love, it has a burst of excitement at the end with some angst and danger but overall it was slow going but a swoon worthy story. This is the first book in a new series obviously a crossover from Jamie McGuire's previous series told in first person dual pov and I would read more in this series now I have read the first one as long as it has more action and angst. *Now Available* Kindle: https://amzn.to/2OkDJul Paperback: https://amzn.to/2M64LoP Nook: https://bit.ly/2G7v6yU Kobo: https://bit.ly/2pvUqZ4 iBooks: https://apple.co/2GPWtOS Audiobook: https://amzn.to/2N5wOoP
