A modern telling of a classic tale...
This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.
Heath is a full-length standalone romance
"Love doesn't give one damn about how much money you make or where you come from. Love is a storm that decimated everything in it's path with equal fierceness"
I guess that quote sums this tale up in a way. Heath is a brilliant journey of heartache, revenge and choices that ripple on through generations. A modern day spin on Wuthering heights which I haven't read.
The story of Heath begins with Helen telling the young Emily of a romance she witnessed while serving at a stately home for the Crenshaw's. Helen was a servant that saw all and starts this journey by telling the tale of Heath and Cat, how they fell in love but she was promised to another man, a story of all consuming love that couldn't win the battle over money and power..
Choices?, Cat chose Money over love and the consequences were damning, damning for Heath, damning for her child, damning for her brother when Heath was left heartbroken with the void of Cat only hatred and revenge could fill.
It doesn't stop there though, this story shows the effects it has on the next generation's, it was so fresh and different, I could not put this book down! There is so much to it, three love story's, three generation's.
HEATH is brilliant, deserving of five stars for the angst, the roller-coaster ride of emotions, the cleverly written plot that is so unique, the different characters all with their own love story to tell, filled with passion, heartache and heartfelt moment's.
Told in first person, some characters have their hea and some don't.
A Great collaboration with these two authors, K Webster I already adore and I will definitely read more from Nikki Ash.
Definitely a recommended read. It's a must read.
