In the land of gods and monsters, she was a toy. A plaything. A pet.
Taken, stolen, beaten, used.
Pet remembers nothing before his touch, and afterward she craves nothing more.
Sinful and merciless, Ares is her god now. He alone says when to beg, when to come, and when to kneel, but he never said anything about leaving.
Warning: In the Land of Gods and Monsters is a dark romance novel. It contains strong sexual themes, dubious consent, graphic violence, and may contain triggers for some readers.

TEASER & EXCERPT
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” He presses his front against my back, eliminating the space between us. My heart races as I feel his erection through his suit pants.
I shiver. “Will you hurt me in here, Sir?”
“Will you make me cry?”
“I usually do.”
I steel my jaw, because the way he talks about my pain, my torment, is just cruel. “Then what are you waiting for?”
“An audience,” he whispers, his tongue darting out to lick the space where my shoulder meets my neck. I close my eyes, bring my arm up behind his head, and slide my fingers into his hair as he devours my flesh. My body is electric, on fire, and buzzing with need. His words terrify me, and yet I’ve never been more turned on.
I knew this was dark, I knew this had triggers and may contain some dark scenes but damn....
Not what I was expecting at all.
Camille is taken, kidnapped and following her abduction has amnesia, she doesn't know who she is but knows she doesn't belong in the cell she wakes up to.
Day after day she is sexually abused to the point were she craves sexual activity, longs for it. She becomes a pet who craves her master's attention.
Pet is conditioned to crave what her master Ares wants which is always sexual.
I lost count of the sexual activity in this book and it wasn't the kind I normally enjoy reading where there is chemistry and love. This was raw, manipulative, cringe-worthy even.
Pet is caged like an abused bird but when the cage door is open will she go back to her real life?, will her memories return?
The latter I want to know, why was she taken, who is Ares? Ending on a cliffhanger, do I want to know, that's the question.
I'm curious and that's what would have me reading book 2 and that alone at this point. I want to know why she was abused and taken in this way, who Ares and his brother are.
I didn't really enjoy this book, I read most of it wanting to know if there was a purpose to it, if there would be a romance emerging somewhere between the dark and gritty line's. I've read books very similar, it wasn't unique, so would I read book 2? I'm undecided, it's not a story where you feel drawn to the characters or connected, I can't even say I felt sorry for the captive.
In this story, I'm definitely on the fence with this one.
