![]() REVIEW Wow! 5 Stars of suspense. From the very first chapter of Liar Liar I was captivated, the whole book is like a spiders Web of deceit and secrets and Becca was stuck in the middle with no way out except maybe Evan. From the very beginning the plot let's you know something serious went down with Becca, something that caused the whole family to uproot from their affluent life style to a town where no-one knew them. Credence was a town of trailer parks and poverty and a far cry from what they were used to. Becca is a girl on a journey to a new self, shedding the old and embracing the new. Gone are the designer clothes of her past in her attempt to fit into a new school and make new friends, except the friends part wasn't that easy. Throughout Becca's story there's intense bullying, twists and turns as the plot thickens and Becca's new life is grim until Evan, the boy who takes interest, comes to her rescue more than once and unlike all the others in Credence he seems to care. Becca: Something in him touched the broken pieces in me and I couldn’t resist him. He was like a drug and teetering on the edge of addiction. I was still trying to figure Becca out as much as Becca was trying to figure herself out, she was a girl in limbo stuck between the old and the new with a shadow of lies cast over her, like a rain cloud and the storm was coming. Evan he to was a mystery too, wanting to keep their relationship secret from the bully's, he was a loner and a guy who seemed to be dark, mysterious, a boy in the background but carrying a presence that got him noticed. There was more under the surface of all the characters involved and all the suspense had me eagerly turning the pages wanting more and reading Liar Liar in one sitting. Becca: The way he watched me. Showed up as if he was always around, hiding in the shadows. Everything about Evan Porter should have screamed stay away. It didn't. Told in Becca's pov, from beginning to end I loved this book and L.A Cottons ability to keep me hooked throughout with the brilliant descriptive words, imaginative scenes and the balance of angst and mystery within the plot, the hot scenes were a bonus too. Favourite scene that made me chuckle: "Did you just smell my car" The almost playful tone was back in his voice, if a guy like Evan could be playful "Maybe" ![]() BLURB For eighteen-year-old Becca Torrence, the chance to finish high school in a new town, where no one knows her or the secrets of that night, should be a dream come true.
