I loved the blurb and I guess that combined with a hot cowboy story had me chomping at the bit to read it. Jason is a cowboy, brought up by strict parents, he's the type of guy who opens doors, calls women ma'am and disrespect no one, full of southern charm. Picture Perfect Cowboy starts with Jason doing his friend a favour. As a retired champion bull rider now a horse trainer Jason is standing in for his injured friend to do a photo shoot for charity. When he first meets Simone not only is Jason away from his ranch that's in the middle of nowhere but he also feels out of his depth and element because it's a naked photo shoot. Simone is the photographer who tries to put Jason at ease, chats with him to make him feel more comfortable for the shoot which seems normal enough, Jason comes across as bashful and is also worried about his image, his strict parents although he's plenty old enough to be making his own choices but then the conversation goes onto Dom's and subs as Simone continues to chat with him. Simone openly tells him about her kinky side, her website and her involvement in a sex club. I'm surprised Jason didn't run a mile but he has a side to him that craves what Simone can offer. All this is within an hour or two after meeting. The plot progresses, Simone basically becomes his teacher although she also becomes his slave and Jason learns how to be a master when she goes to stay with him on his ranch the same day. It's an insta everything kind of read, things develop really quickly and there are some hot and kinky scenes. I can't decide if I liked it or not. The sex scenes were good, the characters I liked but the way the plot went it just felt too unrealistic and I know it's fiction but I struggled picturing it all happening the way it did. PICTURE PERFECT is told in the third person, not my favorite way to read, I prefer getting into the thoughts of the characters but it does lead to a hea which I like very much. In summary, a quick kinky read with a hot and charming cowboy who has allowed himself to be molded by other people's ways instead of discovering himself, his fantasies and his needs, until he meets a hot pink haired sassy New Yorker and begins to explore his fantasies. Arc received by NetGalley for review purposes.
