Reckless love could be read as a stand alone, I read this without previous books but the author suggests at the beginning of this book that it can't be read a s a standalone? I suppose it would contain spoilers if you are looking to start a series from the beginning, this book contains all of the characters together in few scenes and would spoil who is with whom with regards to relationships etc, so if you want to start the journey of getting to know the families and all the characters and experience the growth of the family, start from the beginning. Kelly Elliott hasn't added any spoilers with previous stories though so you aren't given any information with what has gone down before but there are a few surprises with the other couples that those who have been following this series will love. Reckless Love is Trevor and Scarlet's story. Trevor is the player of the bunch with the the look of a bad boy, the hot cowboy with tattoos and a reputation with the ladies and although he has had his eye on Scarlet since before she moved away to school when he was a teen he still continued with his wild ways. Trevor is afraid of commitment, his feelings for Scarlet scare him and when Scarlet returns home for good he finds himself in a situation where he wants her but in a way he doesn't and also he doesn't want anyone else to have her either. Trevor has a decision to make before he loses his forever girl, there is only so much rejection Scarlet can take and the clock is ticking. This is a heartwarming story of major play boy turning into a swoon-worthy man, I loved the transformation in Trevor as he steps up to claim what is his and his responsibilities. Fans of this series will love it, like I said all characters from previous books in the series are present and a few surprises are revealed. I am looking forward to whatever Kelly Elliott has planned next. I have to say I do love anything by Kelly Elliott she writes a brilliant balance of hotness, romance, drama and heartwarming moments within her pages.
