![]() Your beautiful voice matters It all began with a rocket ship nightlight and a boy who didn't know me. My thoughts: I started this book in the evening and although my mind protested I went to bed, big mistake. I had such a restless night thinking of a 7 year old little girl Maggie May, her bossy ways, her determination to have a wedding in the woods under the twisty trees to her brothers best friend Brookes. Thoughts of that day, the day he was late, the day Maggie May's life changed through events that no one could ever predict, the day she lost her voice and the ability to step out of the house, gone was the chatty bossy little girl but one thing remained Brookes. Told in dual pov's and in parts you are taken through child hood, teenage years to adulthood through the ups and downs of all the family and characters, everyone moved on, life carried on but Maggie May remained a prisoner in her own home and mind. One day had changed half a lifetime. Maggie and Brookes relationship was beautiful, heartwarming, at times emotional he was the constant in her life even when they weren't physically together. Brookes:I hadn't known you could hear someone's voice so clearly in the silent moments. Brookes and Maggie's relationship and their way of communicating touched my heart, I felt myself break so many times reading The silent waters. Maggie escaped in books, her life consisted of her room and the lives she lived in the pages others had written. Maggie: I'd lived the lives of each character within the walls of my bedroom. "Do you promise me the same type of love I've read about in my books?" "No Maggie May. I promise you so much more" So many beautiful words are within this book, my kindle is full of highlights. I have truly been taken on an emotional journey I wouldn't of thought possible when I first started. Brittainy C Cherry has written words that will stick with me for a long time, books like this you don't forget, I know I will sigh when I hear The Still Waters mentioned it touched me that deep. My favorite words: "The world keeps spinning because your heartbeat exists" ""You ok today Maggie May" This is an amazing book and I can strongly advise buy it. Some beautifully hopeful and full of tomorrow's promises. I’ve had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones—the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones—all included him. I was ten years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories. This is the story of a boy and girl who loved each other, but didn’t love themselves. A story of life and death. Of love and broken promises. Of moments. (Book Three in the Elements Series. Complete Standalone. Coming Fall 2016.)
