![]() In hindsight, I should not have had that fifth mimosa at Breakfast with Santa. Or the sixth, seventh, and eighth. But my shame over the public meltdown that resulted was nothing compared to being abandoned by my husband of fifteen years for a much younger woman—and did I mention she’s pregnant? For the sake of my children and my pride, I packed up and headed for my childhood home and the small town where I grew up. Cloverleigh Farms would be the perfect place for a fresh start. Falling for Henry DeSantis wasn’t part of the plan. Sure, he’s easy on the eyes and hard in the bedroom (also the hallway, the bathtub, and on top of his desk), but he’s newly divorced too, and things between us are moving so fast I’m afraid neither one of us has had enough time to heal. Not to mention the fact that I’m a single mom now—my kids have to come first. But Henry makes me feel beautiful and sexy and wanted and strong—I haven’t felt that way in years. We understand each other, and when I’m in his arms, I’m tempted to trust again. To love again. To let myself be loved without fear. But deep down, I’m terrified. Is this all too much, too soon? Sylvia and Henry's story is one of second chances, moving on, starting again and finding true love. Both Henry and Sylvia have failed marriages, both fairly recent. When Sylvia moves back home to Cloverleigh to her parents home, she's still trying to keep it together for her kids and herself, picking herself up after discovering her husband of 15 years was not only a cheat but he's now going to be a father with his younger girlfriend hit her hard. Henry's marriage was one that grew apart after failed IVF treatments had took it's toll on the marriage and relationship, Henry's wife left, leaving Henry disappointed and hurt after he had tried his best to make her happy but they had drifted apart. Henry is the wine maker at Cloverleigh farm working for Sylvias parents. Sylvia and Henry know each other but have never really got to know each other well but when they meet again once Sylvia has moved home there is an instant bond between them. The chemistry between these two characters is hot and although they try to slow things down due to their recent relationship breakdowns, the attraction, the bond, the chemistry is hard to fight. Sylvia and Henry have a beautiful supportive friendship that grows into more. You could say Henry and Sylvia are soul mates who have finally found one another but had to go through other experiences until it was time for each of their stars to align. A beautiful heartwarming story.
