He was my boss, my brother’s friend, a Widower, an ex-felon, and a man I’d seen casually with a handful of women. But he was everything that gripped me, both the good and the bad. Worst case scenario if things turned awkward between us, I could go somewhere else. I’d gotten over epic heartbreak before, one more wouldn’t kill me.
After moving to Austin following six months of unemployment back home, Iris Taylor knows she should be glad to have landed a job so quickly... even if the business is owned by a member of the same motorcycle club her estranged father used to belong to. Except Dex Locke might just be the biggest jerk she’s ever met. He’s rude, impatient and doesn’t know how to tell time.
And the last thing they ever expected was each other.
But it was either the strip club or the tattoo shop.
… she should have chosen the strip club.
Under Locke, sigh...... If only!
I loved Lock, Alpha male, grouchy hot biker part of an MC and Tattoo shop owner.
Iris is the younger sister of Sonny and has just moved to the area and in need of a job so Sonny being the protective caring brother he is gets Dex to take Iris on in the tattoo shop.
Dex becomes Dex the Dick as Iris nicknames him, Iris who is one of those nerdy type characters who never never drops an f bomb and so struggles with Dex's moods and bad manners and at times i found her to oversensitive considering her surroundings.
Under Locke is a slow burn romance but when it ignites, it Ignites.
I loved it, loved Dex's bossy alpha ways and the many sides to his character. The plot was good, no heavy angst, drama or club business, the plot mainly focuses on the characters and is told in Iris's pov.
Trouble comes knocking at Iris's door when she discovers her dad an ex club member who she just calls the sperm donor considering he took off when she was little, owes a lot of money to some not so friendly people and with him on the run they go for the next best thing; family and so the hunt is on to find him and get him to pay his dues.
I listened to this on audio and it was a brilliant narration allowing me to picture everything clearly.
My first book by this author and I am looking forward to reading more from Mariana Zapata and listening to more audio books.
