![]() I never thought my first kiss would be on my wedding day. But here I stand, clutching a bouquet of pale pink roses behind the doors of a Las Vegas chapel, and at the end of the aisle is the absolute last man I imagined would be waiting for me. Thomas Bane. Bestselling author. Notorious bad boy. Savagely handsome, dark as sin, chiseled as stone. And somehow, my soon-to-be husband. Marry him, and I’ll land my dream job. Save him, and I’ll walk away with everything I’ve ever wanted. All I have to do is remember it’s all for show. None of it is real, no matter how real it feels. But first, I have to survive the kiss. And with lips like his, I don’t stand a chance. ![]() I have been loving this series, so despite my none-love of Author blogger romance's I had to give it a go. Staci Hart is an author who weaves into her plots, humour, sweetness, swoon-worthy moments, a tipple of angst and spoonful's of sexy. Work in progress had all the above.. Like I said, Blogger and Author romance, I avoid them, too close to home, I like to escape in a book not identify with it, I am a blogger after all and although I've never had the hots for an author, bad boy characters maybe, you know what I mean *inserts winky emoji. Hands up, I nearly gave in after a few chapters, the blogger/Author relationship and another of my none-loves Fantasy romance, I found hard to digest, the fantasy especially went way over my head but as the plot goes on I realise it was a necessity to create a background and understand the characters more, I know that, so I pushed through. Once the bones of the story was set, all the talk of Thomas Bane's writing about fantasy, Amelia's blog and it started to get down to the Nitty gritty, I was hooked. Amelia is sweet, she is one of four girls who lacks confidence, 4 best friends who made a pledge to put on red lipstick when they need to be brave, I love their friendships and I was looking forward to Amelia's story. Thomas Bane AKA Tommy is a famous author, seen many times with high class models on his arm, he's one of those guys the tabloids love or wants to destroy, he's sort of in with the "in crowd" and for an author he's a big celeb who the public love, I was picturing JK Rowling sort of status with this sort of pull that he had. Tommy and Amelia first meet at an event where he is signing books, Amelia has been the blogger who has always slated his books, you could say she is brutally honest, so when she states her name at his table waiting for her books to be signed Thomas Bane is immediately interested in his nemesis and has to see her again and even asks her to help him write his next book. There are quite a few developments following their first meeting, twists and turns, a fake marriage to save Tommy's image, its all going on and I loved the development in Tommy and Melia's relationship, how Amelia started to come out of her shell, how Tommy supported her and grew to love her. Work In Progress is a sweet heartwarming romance. "I knew the second the universe put you in my path that you would change everything, and you have" I loved it, the characters were adorable and I finished yet again another book of Staci Hart's with a contented sigh. "I will shake the heavens and mark them, with your name. Because without you, I am lost". Looking forward to Katherine's story. EXCERPT She smiled, unafraid, unabashed, just happily gazing at me as if it were the most natural thing. As if it weren’t fake. I’d only just realized the truth of the matter. I’d insisted on these daily walks because they were my favorite part of the day. She thought it was pretend. She didn’t know this was the only time when I didn’t have to pretend. Here, I was free to touch her, to kiss her, to lay her down in the grass and make her laugh. Here, I didn’t have to wish. I didn’t have to long for her. Here, I could have her. Her hands were on my chest, then my jaw, her eyes darkening, smoldering. Because she knew I needed to kiss her just as well as I knew she wanted me to. I’d never put a move on her when we were alone, never even brought it up. I hadn’t realized just how badly I wanted to, how desperately I missed moments like this when we were alone. Could this be the moment he realizes it? she’d asked. “I don’t know how he hasn’t realized it before,” I answered. WORK IN PROGRESS Download your copy today or read FREE in Kindle Unlimited!
